Right, but with two equally-experienced people, the coach is going to (in general) do a better job of coaching. I've got nothing at all against experienced D-licensed people jumping with new jumpers, but a D license does not make someone a decent coach. A coach rating is more likely to make one a decent coach. OK so the last half of last night is still unknown to me, but what I do know is that I've spent about an hour so far this morning trying to remember where the car was parked last night. Knowning me I probably saved the galaxy after last call and don't even remember so I just wanted to stop in and say you're welcome to everyone in the galaxy and there's no need to build any monuments in my honor or anything because with me it's all in a days work. And apparently five years ago I was stationed in Ranger battalion with some guy named Cim, I can't remember him to save my life but as soon as he found out who I was he remembered me and gave me free drinks until well after last call. Why are the odds stacked against Airspeed?Quote As Ron said, AS knows how to pull it out when it counts but so do the French, the French team has the experience as a team, the new lineup with AS, yes they have done an insane number of training jumps this year, every time I'd make it to Eloy this year I'd sit in on their debriefs and could see the improvement and they're looking amazing but unfortunately this will be the first international comp that this new lineup has together. Basically if someone were to place odds on this competition for betting they would definitely be in France's favor. But as history has shown us many times don't ever count out the underdog especially when that underdogs name is Airspeed, so like I've mentioned before while the world meet is going on i'm going to be glued to the computer scream pushing the refresh button on omniskore every five seconds chewin my nails off and screamin "GO USA" the whole time, this is probably going to be one of the biggest battles that we've seen to date, other countries are becoming far more competitve than in the past and we are no longer the major superpower in the sport. But having stiffer competition is a good thing, it just means that we have to work that much harder to stay on top of our opponents. I was in the gym yesterday and ran into a buddy of mine that was attached to my team during out last trip to Iraq. He just graduated Ranger school and mentioned that one of the guys in his class happened to be on of the Iraqi's that I trained and worked with during our last deployment. Ranger school is a kick in the nuts!!! And to see the Iraqis going through it now definitely makes me proud. Hopefully I'll run into them again on my next trip. as Nightingale said, the Geneva convention is very good about keeping soldiers from basically "raping and pillaging", rule of thumb, in major ground combat operations if they are part of the enemy military it's usually kill on sight unless they are actively surrendering, in which case they become EPW's. In post war activites ie, insurgencies, we pretty much follow the guideline if they have a weapon or are reaching for one, they are fair game, any other circumstances killing is unjustified. There are coaches that will jump for free. There are also coaches that I'd be happy to pay $50 a jump for (and have.) Quote There are also plenty of d license jumpers in the sport who are more than happy to go up with students and do 2 ways with them to help them. A guy with a positive attitude will do more for a student than some coach who thinks they know everything because they have a rating.
