Keep in mind that a lifting body can achieve lift from all surfaces even without proper wing profiles. A planes fuselage produces minimal amounts of lift while climbing. You can turn a brick into a lifting body with enough airspeed. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray

There is lots of RUM and Medalla Beer there. You should come. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray

The long term durability of the Optimum is one of the factors I am curious about. I have consulted several people at PD and the idea was actual suggested to me by a friend who is on the PD Tour. I also understand that Jay Moledzki of the PD Factory Team uses a Optimum for wingsuit jumps regularly. I am holding judement on the idea until I can jump it more. I will post more info then. Lots of differing opinions on this but I personally would avoid a canopy that you must fly its opening with riser inputs. This would generally be limited to elliptical models but not always. I currently fly a triathlon that has served me well since I was off student status but I like the sabre2, safire2, & pilot very much for wingsuiting too. I am currently testing out a Optimum as a main for wingsuiting but haven't had enough air time to review yet. Good luck and long flights! Yes. The SM1 leg wing inflates so well that I no longer attempt to shut it down at pull time. Just reach, grab & BANG!!! WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray

Yes...Yes...It was a truly KICK ASS Boogie!!! Thanks go out to all the organizers & camera flyers: Scott Bland, James Boole, Rob Jones, Chuck Blue, Scotty Burns, Matt Hoover and whoever else lent a helping hand. It was awesome flying with Stephane and his French crew as well as Robi, James, Rob Jones & the rest of the Phoenix Fly crew. The Flock U boys brought some real talent with them and the Texas people were great to fly with too. Everyone flew there ass off and we made some great looking formations. Look forward to 100 ways at F&D 4.0!!! Also...Do not miss the Puerto Rico Boogie Wingsuit Invasion in Feb. 2008!!!!!!!! I would also add that student suits should not have grippers. This is another reason the Aerobat felt more comfortable to fly. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray

Get the mudflap mount. It is all I use now. SOOO nice for wingsuiting. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray

Just imagine combining that suit with a wingsuit....(diabolical laugh)!!! Get rolling down hill. Reach 88 mph. Flip on flux capacitor (Great scott...1.21 gigawatts). Take off using wingsuit. Fly down mountain. Land on road in valley below. Where do we place order for the new wingsuit landing gear???? That is the coolest shit I have seen in a while. I was impressed by how much control he had to turn and speed up or down. We going to Europe next summer. I want to try it then!! Wow Mikepall! You seem very critical considering you are a newbie to this forum nor have you meet either Gray Brothers before. Why don't you settle down. WSI-6 / PFI-55 The Brothers Gray Wingsuit Academy http://www.myspace.com/cgwingsuitpilot http://www.myspace.com/thebrothersgray

Here are a couple photos of Tony's orange traffic cone SM1. The SM1 is slightly tall for me but still flew exceptionally well. Note the photo of my Tony Aerobat laying on top of the SM1 for reference. Slight size difference!! I cannot stress the importance of getting good training prior to your first flight. There is alot more to it than most people realize but with training and the pre-requisite skills it will be safe and easy. Proper training will ensure that your first flight is fun and scare-free. In the mean time do tracking in the wingsuit body position and perform a wingsuit wave-off (with legs) and deployment sequence too. Let us know how your first flight goes.
