That's not a "guy card" violation! Design? The woman would lose her "chick card" if she let her guy design the kitchen!
-
This isn't about being social or meeting new people- this is about inviting a whack job into your home because your roomie wanted to get laid! I'm glad you find the situation entertaining and the chick hasn't gone completely "fatal attraction" on your roomie. And yes, I guess you could say I'm careful about who I invite into my home. Is that wrong?

I was replying to your post, but my comments were about the situation this thread was about, not your personal life. I wasn't implying you bring strangers home- you clearly said you did not give out personal information (like your address) to people you just met, which is IMO smart. The "friends" in quotations was referring to bar pickups or one night stands which is what this thread is really about, or at least how the problem started. Hope that clears things up! I agree it sucks to have someone stalking you or flipping out on you, and yes, it CAN happen even if you've taken the time to get to know a person. But the odds of bringing home a freak/ stalker/ nut job increase when you invite strangers you met in a bar into your home.

The point is that the "roommate" is really not an innocent victim in this case, but the first person who tried to point that out got slammed. Inviting strangers you meet in bars to your home is stupid and potentially dangerous. If that's how you choose to meet new "friends", at least accept some responsibility for your actions. If this was happening with my roommate, I'd be looking for a new roommate, or a new place to live! This is one of those times when I really don't miss being in my 20s!

Up to you, but posting personal employment info here? Remember Philly Kev?

I thought casual sex and one night stands were so 80s! (Early 80s at that!) I hope you are at least using condoms! The point you are missing- when you pick up chicks in bars and invite them into your home, you are bound to get an occasional freak! Helloooooooo??????????? I guess saying "no" to sex with a drunk girl would be out of the question, huh? Would you lose your "Guy Card"?

Ummm- yeah, he did bring much of this on himself. He drunkenly gave out his address to some chick he met in a bar, drunkenly had what he thought was a one night stand with her the next time he saw her and then tried to dodge her and pawn her off on his roommate instead of telling her "I'm just not that into you!" or "Sorry, but I have a problem with chicks who puke on me!" Besides, if you're meeting women in bars and banging them before you get to know them, you're bound to come across one or two who are less than stable! So, yeah, he brought a lot of this on himself.

We did out whole basement in Costco's laminate wood flooring, which is about half the price of Pergo and essentially the same thing. (Harmonics?) It turned out to be kind of a big project for me alone, so I brought in a carpenter and we did it together. Once we got a system going, it went together fast and easy, and it looks great.

Erin's gone for good. The character served its purpose- new person in charge of CTU doing a lousy job (even before the extenuating circumstances of her schizophrenic daughter.) They had to show her screw up so they could get rid of her and bring back Michelle. (Yes, she and her storyline were shameless plot devices!) The new Chapelle *might* try to can Michelle, but Tony will defend her. (Just my prediction.) And another situation will come up where they have to violate protocol and/or disobey division's direct orders. That will bring them closer together, Tony may even take the blame for it all!

I guess they are doing the repeat because of the NCAA game last night? My favorite site for episode recaps (not just 24) is televisionwithoutpity.com I just like the sarcastic spin they put on things!
-
Well, if the entire plot was derailed by Jack, the show would be called "5" instead of "24" because the season would be over! I would have thought melting down 100 nuclear plants would have been sufficient, shooting down Air Force One is overkill so whatever/ whichever is next will be way over the top! But, Jack won't let it happen because he is a badass mofo!

Clean up, hide the supplements, keep the cats. Do you really want a man who doesn't like cats?

Season 3 is out on DVD. We're on Season 4 now- catch up! Is it OUR fault you are two seasons behind? Read no further, OK............................ Based on last night's episode and the previews, I think the "football" is the real target. And why didn't anyone mention the whole thing could have been averted if Edgar had done his job and gone through the hourly police reports when he was supposed to? All last week, they kept showing that disc NOT being looked at, this week they dropped it! And yes- Jack is a BadAss MoFo!

OMG- I was thinking the same thing!

I work with wire transfers daily. Giving out an ABA number for your bank and an account number does not grant a person access to your bank account. Wire transfers are an effective way to send and receive money. The ongoing scam that I am familiar with is when someone offers to send a cashiers check (which turns out to be counterfeit) in excess of the funds needed to purchase the item and wants a wire transfer back for the difference.

It may be time, but it may be that for now, the family has to make some sacrifices because it ISN'T time. It doesn't sound like its your decision to make in either case. Is he still getting enjoyment out of his life- the small things like when you sit next to him and pet him? Treats? Is there still a gleam in his eye? I've had to make the decision to put two of my cats down, and it was the hardest thing in the world but I let my heart be my guide both times. If its your mom that's attached and not ready to let go for whatever reason, I think you have to respect it. Since this isn't the first time she's been though this, you already know she's capable of making that choice when the time is right. Don't pressure her, give her the benefit of the doubt that she'll do what's right when the time is right no matter how much it hurts. Those are just my thoughts!

The only thing I know for sure about all of this is that its sad, even sadder because what should have been a private family matter became such a circus. Even now, we are all dicussing this like we KNOW these people. As far as I know, not a single person who has posted to these threads has met any of them. We're forming opinions on all of these people based on what's been reported in the media and our own life experiences and personal and religious beliefs. Michael Schiavo is either a hero or a villain. A lot of people identify with the Schindlers because they are grieving parents- even if we think what they did to prolong her existance as long as they did was wrong, most of us can sympathise with them. But in the end what this is (or was) is a private family matter we all know very little about! I hope all the parties can at some point find some kind of peace now that Terri Schiavo has found hers.

Thanks for doing the math!

Wow- you don't get it! Unemployment barely covers the basics for most people. Skydiving is a luxury!

Many of us could learn from him! The technique was perfect!

Who is the "Warren Miller" of Skydiving?

If he focused almost exclusively on video, there is no telling what he could produce or how far he could take it. -

Just my opinion, but Rook Neslon is one of the best cameramen out there. -

Gumbo and a shrimp Po Boy somewhere, then Cafe DuMonde for beignets and cafe au lait before you hit the road! I'm a little jealous!
