The conquest and the Heatwave are worlds apart. Even at the relativley low wing loading you propose, you should be avoiding heatwaves until you have at least 100 dives. The conquest was built with an unusual construction allowing "checkerboard" designs. While this may be distinctive from the ground, it offers little advantage in the air. It's also an old design - having been released late in 1992. It does not enjoy front riser input, particularly if the brakes are not lengthened. Who ever takes the heatwave off your hands should be paying in. PM me if you want more info. I hear you - but you'd be at risk of paralysis without injury too. Find a doctor who understands consequence, as opposed to right and wrong. There are a few out there. Spend some time discussing the dynamics of injury, as opposed to "impact" and then learn to avoid those dynamics. t It's the year of the Pig.

Go for it. So many normal, healthy, fit people smash themselves to bits. It's not like a healthy skeleton is any real defense against death. I'm quite serious. be careful and go and jump. t It's the year of the Pig.

Concentrate on survival skills. Altitude awareness. 1. Pull 2. At the correct altitude 3. Preferably stable On landing. 1. Open area 2. Level wing (Not turning) 3. Flare for landing 4. Preferably into wind Other stuff, like turns, forward movement etc are "nice to haves" and you'll be working on technique 8000 dives from now. When you have one waxed, they'll change (Like box to mantis) or invent new ones. (like freeflying, wing suits etc) Wellcome back. Take small steps. t It's the year of the Pig.

What Cashe said... All sports have their "look." These go beyond fashion. Form follows function. There are reasons for wearing what we do. I've seen pockets invert (almost a certainty with track pants) and interfere with pulls etc. Make sure your desire doesn't get in the way of your life. t It's the year of the Pig.

Soft ones? I used to jump in hard ones, Saw a friend of mine fall over on a landing and bash his face, and it looked like he'd been attacked with a cookie cutter... Don't they make hard ones anymore? t It's the year of the Pig.

Well - Being in Africa, I'm not going to get a chance to skydive and party with SkymonkeyOne. I live on a continent with plenty monkeys. This one was snapped near my ex-wife's house.
