  1. At the end of your swoop it appeared you turned slightly to your left as a result of a asymmetrical flair (the end of your swoop). Another thing I would recommend (if possible, or may be due to parallax error) is to move away from the trees as they can create some nasty rotors. Other than that it looks good, keep it up.
  2. Is it still wet? Wow! I'll make ya deal, I'll stay dry this weekend (not a drop of pond water) if you promise to get wet (with pond water) the following weekend. Or at least try to throw something down on the pond. I'll be nice only a difficulty of 2 or greater, but if you stay dry, then you must do a 5. cya CF
  3. Hey CF!! Open your eyes when the photo is being taken, or at least look towards the camera. Dam it looks like you could use some freefly coaching on getting your photo taken. LOL
  4. Here are couple from awhile ago, the first a little headzdown, the second; some two way carving action with Keith Colwick. Both are at Skyventure Perris Valley
  5. Could you elaborate on "Garrett Accuracy" please
  6. I want to see corner to corner dragging water, 414ft
  7. Bob; What were the results from your first comp.? Take care
  8. Thats great Jim, btw thanks for all your hard work with the LA times.
  9. When evaluating a canopy rather than setting a limit by the number of jumps you want to do on it, instead set a proficiency level. Learning to fly a larger wing, and relatively safer wing will improve your awareness, ability and therefore safety. If you are truly interested in becoming a better pilot I strongly recommend attending a canopy piloting course. These courses will not make you an instant amazing swooper, but they can provide you with the necessary tools to keep you alive. If you feel that people in these forums are over reacting to your question or they are just "Canopy Nazis" this is because we have all been around long enough to see our concerns fall on def ears and result in the pilot paying the ultimate price. I hope you take the time think about your decision, and if you having trouble coming to a conclusion just think; what would your family tell you.
  10. If you are looking for a place to stay, there is always the IHOP.
  11. In a single session I've flown 30 min. (2 in 2 out) in a single day the most I've flown has been about an hour. (obviously ff).
  12. I have set a group where people are free to post anytime they have to share or are looking for time on goolge. This is set up for Perris Valley only at this point. If you have any suggestions please PM them to me, thanks. http://groups-beta.google.com/group/tunneltime/
  13. In iPhoto click file-export, click the file export tab, under format select jpg, you can also select the photo size, but simply converting your photo to JPG will compress the file approximately 3:1
  14. Drop Jim a line his e-mail is at http://www.canopypiloting.com As Curt indicated
  15. Does anyone know if/where the World Cup of Canopy Piloting results are being posted at the end of each day (similar to Omniskore.com does for Nationals)? Thanks in advance
  16. I agree with DJ on this, the speed rounds will not win you the competition , but the can destroy your score to the point they can knock you out of the medals. The essential thing is not to bust, so make sure that all grips are very clear on video and the proper grips are taken. Have fun training!
  17. Thanks, but it also gave me an excuse to slack off from work and post a few more pics.
  18. ok, I am not kiting it, if you look at my feet this may provide evidence to convince you. Here is another complete series that you may like more. This one the rotation had to be fast as there was about a 18knot wind (as indicated by the wind sock in the back ground, I should note that the large wind sock is broken)
  19. Here is one taken over the holidays of me at Perris.
  20. Hey Bro; The pics look beautiful, so when are coming to Visit us back at Perris?
  21. If you want to practice back tracking in the tunnel I recommend flying on your back to the door, place your feet (up to your knees) in the door (off the ground) and assume your back tracking position. I have found this to be very effective, however, I have not tried this on my belly.
  22. Maybe try mental rehearsal, like those RW/vRW in the plane.
  23. This issue was recently addressed, please refer to; "Dangers in toggle turns vs front riser turns (Adria's accident)" in Swooping and Canopy Control. Sorry I don't know how to do the clicky thing.
  24. I would recommend Perris, for even if there is bad weather (very rare) there is the wind tunnel located on the dz. Also; if you want to get away from the dz for a day, LA and San Diego are with in an hour driving distance. There are other sizable dz's with in driving distance (ie. Elsinore [15min], skydive SD...) in case you want a change of scene. Hope this helps.
