I would have but my camera was locked in my truck..

I thought I would warm my car up this morning while I dressed for work. So, I take my spare keys, start the truck (in the driveway), and locked it, while safely clutching my master keys in my robe. As it really never gets very cold in Houston, this was a new thing for me to do.... ...needless to say, I get dressed and am ready to go - then sh*t!!! the door will NOT unlock with my keys or remote... ...so, there I stand in my driveway with my keys IN MY HAND, while the Truck IS RUNNING and am Locked OUT!!! (yes, the windows were up too!) I felt so blonde....so very, very blonde. I had to crawl the the rear window of my truck to get inside.(and crawl over my Xmas tree)...what a sight that must have been. Just thought I would share this one.... D'oh!!!! (I think I'll put my tree up today) and, Amanduh.....don't even start with me... Merry Christmas!!

Thanks for the sound advice Canuck. If skydiving should come up in future conversations, I'll ensure that the subject is quickly dropped. And yes, I will continue to jump - maybe not 800+ jumps in two years , but I'm going to keep at it.

Okay guys.....I'm new, but I'm also aware that accidents do and will happen. I just don't understand where she could be coming from - it was waaay out of character. And of course, we'll continue to be friends, but I'm allowed to be pissed off, right?

**Nope I don't "bug" her about it. It's a moot point to even discuss her participating. ** I AM well-aware of the risks and accept the fact it IS a dangerous sport.

Sorry for this slightly long post – but, I must rant on…… My best friend, who is normally quite conservative, did something that took me by absolute surprise and has left me completely beside myself. A little background: I poke fun at her on occasion with the “whuffo” statement when she harasses me for “falling from the sky.” She usually comes back with something clever and we let it go. Yesterday, I forwarded the “movie trailer” gag to her (from the Bonfire) with her starring in “The Whuffo.” I thought it was hysterical. She replied with an email stating “check out this skydiver!” Innocently, I open the file –thinking it would be her usual funny rebuttal, and it was a horrifying picture of a skydiver who was impaled upon a branch (coming from his rear) or log of some sort. Seriously folks, I was horrified. I think the guy was dead and the photo was gruesome. I love her to pieces, but I am hurt that she would even resort to something so terrible. I can’t begin to think of a way to justify this….it’s not funny. Even if it was a serious gesture of “hey, this is why I don’t skydive” – she has offended me and, right now, I find it difficult to talk to her without losing my cool. What do you think? Any similar experiences?
