Maybe in early spring, but right now...about $1,800.00

How is that possible when the site is throttled?
-
Download accelerators break the internet. I've got fiber on the side of the house, but this MOV is a slow download because this site is on a throttled network. Downloads from M$ usually run at 890-kb/s during the evening hours.

Guess I'm at the wrong DZ...sigh. Several of the (tight-body) ladies wear these "slick" jumpsuits that negate the lead requirement.

I've got two new Shadow Racer Elite rigs right now. A Crossfire2 in one and a Sabre2 in the other, and both have fresh PD reserves with the Airtec cypres AAD too. Some velcro, but that's ok; wish I had invented the stuff!

I wear the OSHA approved Moldex 6800 foam ear plugs to cut-down on the ambient noise, and I have no problem hearing the ProTrack alerts.

My new Sabre2-210 was opening too fast, IMHO. I talked to PD about it, and they made another slider that was 3-inches longer in the chord dimension only. I've only got 4-jumps using the larger slider, but the results were a significant improvement.

She's a Beauty! SSM Super Otter!
rmsmith replied to littlestranger's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The DHC-6 Twin Otter has a proven track record in rugged environments from the tropics to the tundra, and the variety of spare part programs is second to none. While it may not offer the "tailgate exit", its high tail elevator, STOL flight characteristics, and the 12,500-gtow (part 91, solo pilot) make it the best skydiving aircraft available if you have enough skydivers to support it. -
But the Pilatus Porter PC-6/B2-H4 is used for many of the European competition events. I assume this is why DeLand has one rather than a Grand Caravan.

OK let me quess, she brought home a strap-on, and she wants to top 'ya, but you are having misgivings, right?

They're not custom fitted, right?

What happen to Packing Cathy @ z-hills?

This is a "cat-fight" with tabloid excitement! -
The typical family of four coverage from Blue Cross that will cover anything costs about $1,000.00 per month, and the deductable is $5,000.00, so you will still pay for the runny-nose visits. The high costs are due to "the poor" who don't pay anything for everything. If you don't have any assets like equity in a house then forget it and take the beggar's way out if you get hurt.

Maybe your MLW dimension is too short; do your legstraps loosen when you sit down?

Then (truthfully) why are so many businesses named in the lawsuit, Gary?

Mr Stout would sue even with a waiver in place. The problem is with the courts and the judges who control them. The insurance companies are simply dancing to the court's beat that demands ever larger awards. In addition, Mr Stout didn't care enough about his son's activities to know that he wasn't using proper equipment for his base jump. Poor communication? Shame on you Mr Stout!

Absolutely. Nope, it's all about the hotties. The young men crash-n-burn showing-off trying to get some pink. Now if the ladies would just ignore the x-brace guys and just give it away to the 1.0-WL crowd things would change, and everyone would be happy!

I use a Netscreen 5XP hardware firewall appliance at home on an unthrottled fibre optic connection using a 3DES-VPN scheme, and I get consistent 700-kb/s+ throughput.

Jack has forgotten that we live in a Republic where each and every young adult is free to make certain decisions for themselves, and also take responsibility for those decisions too. For those who don't trust themselves there are agents, dealers, etc. that can help with their gear choices for a small additional charge. How about the parents? Parents should be involved too. If my child was to take up the sport, I'd personally see to it that they had the best and appropriate gear that money could buy! All too often, the parents don't like the idea of their child in the sport, and they deal with it through denial and grief. Thus, an open dialog doesn't exist between child and parent. Following a tragedy these parents often discover many things that were previously unknown to them such as dire warnings from the DZO or friends, used gear in poor condition, or gear that is way beyond the performance envelope for their child's experience. Knowing that your child has the best gear available would also go a long way to ameliorate that buried fear too.

And what "should" an open minded person read?

If the USPA membership demonstrates the ability to pay ever increasing insurance premiums there will be no problem. However, we live in a world of limits, and the tort system has been pushing each and every industry toward their limits. At some point the USPA membership will have to say enough is enough. Today, the Trial Lawyers Association are one of the largest contributers to the Democratic party, and their position is to keep our evil corporations (your 401k plan) "in-check" through large punitive and suffering awards. The insurance industry is simply responding to the courts. And I wouldn't count on anything from the courts since these are the same folks who will quietly give the nod for a single mother of three kids to forfeit her home because the teenage son had a couple of pot plants in his bedroom closet. The current USPA dues are roughly the same price as a "pay-per-view" boxing match. Personally, I would expect annual dues climb to at least several hundred dollars if they are to continue their third party insurance program.

Skydiving banned from all federally funded airports
rmsmith replied to base363's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Several counties in Eastern Washington state who operate public airports under port district entities want nothing less than a $2-million dollar indemnity policy meaning that a small weekend-only club operation is out of the question. In addition, the skydiving season is only 22-weeks long up here, but the insurance folks want theirs all year round! Bottom line, our "joint and several liability" tort laws, which were supposed to keep us safe with reliable products, are being systematically abused to extort for financial gain. -
