Should 'PRO' Requirements be Increased?

I'm willing to bet that when you were eight years old liability insurance wasn't expensive either. -
Should 'PRO' Requirements be Increased?
rmsmith replied to airtwardo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The USPA is a ".org" not a ".com" or a ".gov", and I see the demo-jumps as a business venture. The USPA should not be in the business of subsidizing the demo-jumper's liability insurance. If these demo-jumpers want to involve themselves in this high risk low return business then they should charge their sponsors enough to cover the liability policy too! Personally, I don't buy into the fantasy that demo-jumps generate enough whuffo interest in the sport to cover the financial risks given our current tort system. These days, anybody who is curious about the sport would simply do a google search. -
Do the members have access to this information? Unless there are limits to the awards, this will not be a long term solution.

If it's your debt then you should repay it. Besides, it should be easier to do with a college degree. In addition, the better employers always query the applicant's credit history to help determine one's attitude and philosophy.

Lisa, You should keep a diary of your muse(s) regarding Florida, and compare your feelings with those from California after a couple of years. I'd love to read a public version some day here on Dropzone. Happy holidays!

I just purchased a used Dell Precision 530 Workstation. It's simply amazing how quiet it is; what an improvement!

How about "po'folks" in Florida?

Easy, dust off your old Calculus textbook from school, and look up "projection". The CAD programs can do this easily too.

In San Luis Obispo there is a two story unreinforced place called SLO Brew near Bubble Gum Alley. I wouldn't want to be inside it during a good shake. In fact the area is home to many unreinforced structures that escaped seismic upgrades due to the area's dismal economy.

I would start by ending all financial and military support for all sides of the Arab v. Israeli conflict. America's prosperity has been wasted in this region for too long.

It's unfortunate that someone on the other side of the world can transmit a threatening e-mail for next to nothing, and our reaction is certain to cost millions. I hope that nothing does happen, but it is clear that we cannot afford to do this indefinitely.

Who would choose skydiving as a career?

The world is changing rather fast these days, and your engineering degree gives you a solid foundation from which to launch into whatever comes your way. Most of the engineers I know are not wealthy, but they are rich! -
How fast is skydiving growing as a sport?

The total population has also increased during this same period, so it would make sense to look at the numbers as a percentage of the total too. In the seventies when I started jumping, there was a much better distribution of income particularly in manual labor and the trades. Today, skydiver's incomes are very polarized; they are either "rolling in it", or barely able to exist. Despite the fact that modern gear is safer and has an increased service life, the front end cost is a barrier especially to younger people. -

And people wonder why American companies are "out-sourcing" these days. If you think Civil Engineering is tough, try making a decent living in the deregulated transportation industry. Good luck to you. -

Repair it and continue the payments as originally agreed.

They are a USPA-GM DZ, and I find it strange that each USPA-GM DZ has a different procedure for visiting USPA members. However, I will side with the DZO who has an interest in protecting assets.

Amen, and it's the middle of December too!

Now is a wise time to leave before they try to balance the budget on your back. The change of pace and scenery will do you good. Many others just like you have already come to their senses and moved away for a simpler lifestyle.

Doesn't the Geneva Convention have something to say about this kind of treatment?

All that is legally required by the FAA is an in-date reserve and your name on a passenger manifest; beyond that it's just smoke and mirrors. Lodi up near the Bay Area might offer the atmosphere you desire.

Hey, it's that Spectre; pretty soon you'll be ready for a Sabre2 canopy! -
Where's the college "can do" spirit? Get down there son and start with the prom queen before doing the flock!

Now that's sickening...guilty!
