  3. taking the cloud base as opening altitude is not the cleverest... As already mentionned, clouds move, so does the base... Already heard the "I'm not pulling before I'm out of the cloud" theory (multi-thousand jumps jumper).. He changed his procedure after a Cypres fire and finished at sea... I already had clouds going down from 2500ft (when we were going up) to 900ft (when I came out of it)... Add some hilly/moutain environent, and you will realize that altitude is altitude, and sometimes you don't have the possibility to smoke it low. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

  10. a great place to make friends, meet incredible people in real life... Had beautiful times visiting the "Johannesburg" crew, Pa2themd, Peej, Pia, tonto, and many more, and always great to stay in touch by facebook, phone or LIVE :-).. tonto just by thoughts also my "americans", of which many hardly post anymore (except for Amazon, LouDiamond and DiabloPilot which are still prolific).. Thinking specially of Frenchy69, Vanillaskygirl, Lostinspace... and others which I never met, but had great electronic/voice contacts... At the time there was some drame, lots of fun, and the electronic persona were interesting. And we had the DDlist scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

  13. Just thought about it again... If the DZ doesn't allow kids and dogs, do you really think that YOU will be welcome ?? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  14. asome changes could be good, but in order to have it "like before", we would need to have certain people back, and the guys "upstairs" or the guys "downstairs" wouldn't give them back to us scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

  16. ZRH, BSL (or EAP), Geneva is "not bad", 2 hours drive. Possibility to get a ride with maybe me or some other person from "that" area. As VB said, maybe ZRH woudl be the "best" solution as there are LOTS of international flights to there, plus it's a bit closer, and more people from that area going to the boogie. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

  21. I can't understand why Airtec (or any other AAD manufacturer) could have any kind of liability in case it has been misinstalled... For you, would they also have some responsability if the loop had been routed correctly but the device was not switched ON ?? (designing a device that could be used despite not being turned ON, they should have an "auto-switch-ON as soon as you touch the rig ? ) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  22. it is not a question of memorizing the questions... The 50 a day helped me think about the whole subject. Actually some questions had the text "reversed" so you really need to read the questions completely... IMO it was more a concentration/reading test than a "specific technical branch" test scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
