Tony WingSuits does not respect the calendar...
piisfish replied to piisfish's topic in Wing Suit Flying
twice, still have to learn A LOT, specially the gestion of my legs. On saturday started a big unwanted left turn, at the beginning it was only a turn with slight banking, which went increasing and increasing the more I tried to correct/suppress it... And then I started to understand a bit more about leg symmetry. Also the first practice handle touches first felt very different to what I knew till now. For the moment very happy, will try and jump it more and more, and get to close the internal pressure zippers. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
I have nothing against the Y-strap, but it is not a reason to misrig a passenger. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Niner & Squeak, do you have a Y strap on your solo rigs ? Whats that got to do with tandem passenger harnesses? it is also very easy to fall out of a solo rig. I find it "funny" to have people who don't seem to have tandem ratings/rigging ratings give advice on tandem gear, when the same problem can arise on their own gear and do nothing about it... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

the Phoenix-Fly First Fly Coach course is a course for people willing to become coaches for a safe beginning in wingsuiting. To attend and to succesfully complete the course, there are some pre-requisites, theory and practice, and test jumps. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

-if you don't feel comfortable with it, take it off. -the "easy way of mounting" such a camera, has 2 advantages : it is provided, and it is easily mounted. It also has downsides : it is a line trap. Make your choice comrade. -it will not be pulled off easily. Check, some tests have been done and documented. The plastic mount should break before the glue. -mount a cutaway system on your helmet too. -never forget that you have a camera on your head. oh yeah, also welcome to the forums

In my profile it says Wingsuit Instructor, but I am not really an Instructor, I am a Phoenix-Fly First-Flight-Coach. But DZ.com doesn't let me be a coach instead of an instructor. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

if the machine is louder than the snoring, either the machine is about to cookout, or you have never slept with me I have been sleeping with mine for 8 months, and I do feel a huge difference, specially when I fall asleep prior to donning my mask... Hint : don't forget to take the mask off before the good night kiss scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

piisfish replied to frost's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I am not saying you don't have a clue of what you are doing, but please admit that it was not the smartest move. I am not know for my smart moves either. Welcome to the club Oh and congrats on flying the Scirocco, it seems to be a beautiful flying machine -

AAD Ground reference: effect of DZ/airport difference
piisfish replied to Divalent's topic in Gear and Rigging
Why, they aren't putting them in the trunk. no need for a trunk, page 21 of the Vigil Manual OK, the vehicle at that DZ might not be closed... my possible wrong. But it would still have to be turned OFF/ON again at airport altitude (page12) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

piisfish replied to Divalent's topic in Gear and Rigging
[reply I'll note that I have never observed another jumper cycling their AAD and setting an offset at the airport, so I'd wager that virtually every Farm jumper effectively has a ~130 ft offset on their AAD for loads originating at the airport. do they at least restart their Cypreses on arrival at the airport ? if not, that would be plain WRONG (and they didn't read/understand the manual) Same with the Vigils, but these should be turned off prior to boarding the vehicle scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -
