Getting them there would have more effect than the jump (whose effect would be transient). Ever hear of the law of conservation of angular momentum? Besides, the mass of the entire population is less than 10^12kg, or about a trillionth of the mass of the Earth. i'm relieved to know there is law against this kind of stuff, must be a good law if it involves conservation, i'll stop worrying now Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. off the subject but WTF, Mr Physics (said with respect) - how about a discussion supporting your opinion on this question - if you amassed all the people on earth within 5 miles of the equator, and they faced the same direction, and at the same instant performed a standing broad jump where the takeoff angle was 33 degrees, and the landing was vertical could they change the rotation speed of the earth? According to the owner it left Vienna in a box I've got it - its a trick!!! 2 Postal workers were sorting packages and found this box addressed to the local skydive center, they decided to open it - remove the rig and claim that is how it was shipped they figured that once a bunch of cheap skydivers learned that they did not have to pay for a shipping box but could just ship the rig with an address tag then the Postal guys could have some real fun later on - hey man, look 2 rigs, lets hook the mains up backwards Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. love the avatar - i agree, practice higher for a wider safety margin, you should then have the confidence to exit lower if needed for those that grew up on the dope rope - static line for you newer folks - 2.5 to 3K exits were normal so we never were scared, for an AFF student i can understand why they are nervous at lower altitudes practice now or regret it later - you choose just like exiting a plane - you choose just like managing a two-out situation - you choose not the pilot - the green light is not a command to exit just a suggestion Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. Hey Lady - hooray - i likewise despise doing taxes, if the average American reads at an 8th grade level, then how the **** can they do their taxes, there should be a law - or maybe not, TurboTax is my friend one of the nicest people i knew was an IRS agent, go figure Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. my real thoughts are posted in the Incidents thread but one medical explanation that makes perfect sense is that some of the folks - those that did not know the exit altitude, and those that knew it but did not have the experience to handle the high speed & low altitude - had Anal Cranial Inversion syndrome Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together.
