At the bottom of my emails I have the same quote as I do on here... I just noticed whilst re-reading an old message from my boyfriend that he added just below that quote: HOW IF YOU DON'T SLEEP? Really cracked me up!! (Because I'm an insomniac...) Anyone else see/notice something unexpected that made them giggle lately? I am a floutist and I went to band camp, but I NEVER stuck a flute up my pussy. (The surprising thing being the last bit! ) "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

(Serious question) How long does it take you on average to rebuild a bike?? And is that a hobby or full-time? "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Ah ha!!! You denied the three years of travelling but not the 6 months of tunnel-time!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

What ONE thing that you no longer have but would like back?

My grandmother. I didn't know her much, but she and my mom were really close. Mom misses her all the time even though she has been gone for over 20 years. I'd like to have known her better, and I wish she was still there for my mom as well. Hmm.. My message is gone - perhaps not as tactful as it should have been.. Apologies if my views offended anybody - really wasn't the intent But just wanted to make the point that you can give clear instructions about your wishes to your family without being a confirmed donor (ie: having a "D" on your licence). What I want to know is how on earth Squeak can afford (on a teacher's salary) to tour the world for two years and then spend 2 months in the tunnel... Snookie Stackhouse is the main character in True Blood sweetie. Personally I think that a lot of the news out there is for entertainment purposes. Kind of like the Jerry Springer Show. It gets attention and sells. It's what's making the buck. If you don't want to read it or watch it, turn it off and look away. No one says you have to indulge if you don't want to. But since enough people are watching and reading that stuff, it's going to continue to be there. Nothing you can do about it. All true (except for Sookie!)... The main thing left out being that I do want to know what is going on in the world - I just could do without all the OVER-THE-TOP dramatisation of EVERYTHING. That's all. And for the record, I think 10 hours of tunnel time is every bit as "news-worthy" as a lot of the shite out there being talked about to death!! In fact, I reckon to Squeak, it will seriously impair his ability to walk for a few days, so it *will* significantly impact his daily life!!! There. If that is not hyperbole (mixed in with a small dose of irony), I don't know what is! Forty bucks for new tires is no big deal. "Saving face" when it comes to safety is not important. In the grand scheme of things, this decision only matters if it falls into a consistent pattern of you saving his dumbass and him not learning from it. I woke up this morning and checked the news and went onto this site, and I gotta say, I'm annoyed. Everywhere I go, I hear about or read about grossly exaggerated crap. You know, some people have real problems and some places have real disasters, but the vast majority of the time, things in most people's lives are very much the same as the day before... Did US fortune 500 companies' profits grow by 81% in 2010?? Is that possibly because the previous year they dropped by a radical amount and now they're finding their way back to equilibrium? Did some big terrorist die about a week ago? 1 PERSON?? Am I the only one who thinks the actual impact of these events has been GROSSLY overstated??? We dramatise the smallest things... Don't get me wrong, plenty of people *wish* they had so little to worry about that they could dramatise these small things... But can we not just get real? Can we get a bit of perspective? Why, why, why does everything need to be hyperbolised? Christ! Even this fucking rant is over the top!! I need a coffee... Another faux-pas I made with the b/f... He invited a work colleague to his place for dinner, and I got a text message... I took out my two handsets to check which one it was, and the guy asked: "why do you have 2 phones?" to which I replied without missing a beat: "one is for when Mohamed calls me and the other is for when my husband calls me." He was horrified and said: "you have 2 husbands????" I said: "of course not, Mohamed isn't my husband." Apparently the guy wouldn't speak to Mo for weeks. Can't remember if I told this one before... My boyfriend was picking me up at the airport and I just knew he was going to be starving and everything was going to be closed, as usual... So this time I came prepared - I had bought him a ham sandwitch on the plane... That's right... A HAM SANDWITCH... I forgot that's obviously a no-no for a muslim Luckily I realised just before he sank his teeth into it... Which still made me feel like a jerk because he was starving and I was taking away his sammich... Our products are made with the finest of materials!!! (empty beer-can, wrapped in toilet paper, an egg and a marker, and a bit of tape to hold it all together - but trust me, it's complicated and you should not try to make it at home!!) Exclusively for sale at all fine retailers - ACT NOW while supplies last!!! Dolls sold for $29.99 + $2.99 for shipping and handling. Pins and needles sold separately. ETA: Please, do not use this thread as an excuse for PA's - it is a joke and in reference to a post made by Shah in another thread, and meant in a light-hearted way. And I really only made one doll, but if anyone actually wants to give me money for it, I could be persuaded to make more!! Nope.. not me. Yet you have accused several others of that exact same thing. My apologies, it was in fact jaybird18c who had asked me that particular question - you asked me if I had seen the seals drunkenly celebrating the death of OBL (again, paraphrasing). No, I didn't. And I didn't say everyone was rejoicing. But lots of people were rejoicing - including some people on here. I was not debating as to whether this feeling was representative of the majority - I was, like Pops said, reacting to the people who were rejoicing. And no. I never "accused several others" of rejoicing after they themselves used deadly force. Most people have never been directly involved in killing someone, and I personally doubt that most people would rejoice if they actually had to do it. Either read what I ACTUALLY wrote or be more specific/accurate about your accusations.
