Note to self - there is no rule that says you must finish *everything* on your plate when you're a grownup.. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

I've gone without sex for several months before (and it's been since early May now).. Last weekend, though, I was sooo frustrated, I swear I seriously considered jumping almost every other guy I crossed on the street on the way to the supermarket But that was just one day (and a WHOLE LOT of porn)!! Usually it's tolerable. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Note to self - LisaH is temporarily delusional.. How could she possiblly give up on love when she herself is so freakin' loveable? Yes.. Temporary delusion is the only explanation.. Second note to self - she is vulnerable - move in for some sexy action (Sorry LisaH - couldn't help myself ) "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Beware! More than one person has had serious problems at work over what they have posted here. First off, this forum is not accessible at my workplace - and rightly so. I also think Facebook should be banned. IMO, people are paid to *work*. Obviously, for some jobs it may be perfectly fine to pass the time this way, but I don't think anyone in our entire building can claim this is the case except possibly the night security guard. As for getting in trouble for putting something on here.. Well, let's just say my boss would probably find my above comment funny, since I sent him the link to this "facebook post" & said - "does that mean you're gonna fire me too?!!" Its not just the people you work with. Just sayin. Dude.. I was attempting to use sarcasm to point out the stupidity of the post allegedly made by this girl. If I have a beef with someone, I prefer the old-fashion face-to-face civilised "conversation". Not only do both parties get to discuss their point of views, but there is the added benefit of "communication", which I find helps you to understand where the other person is coming from.. My facebook posts are usually something like "Natalie... has just baked fresh scones - yummy!!"

I think a lot of people post negative things about skydiving tats because they at one time considered getting one and are sooo glad they didn't. I'm not saying don't do it.. But there's nothing wrong with letting the idea marinate for a bit.. I have one tattoo which I got over 12 years ago.. I thought I'd never want another, then last year so much happened in my life that I decided to get a second tattoo.. So I would feel sure about it, I've let the idea "sink in", so to speak. In the year that has past, the idea had become more concrete, and the design much more "me". But lately, a friend of mine got rid of all of her tattoos. She had secretly been getting laser tattoo removal for months and months.. She said she felt "purged" of her past - like a clean canvas.. So I've started considering this.. Getting rid of my existing tattoo, however, is a FAR bigger commitment than getting a new one, IMO.. So I'm going to sit on it until whatever I decide feels right. Just remember - the sky will always be there.. No shame in sitting on it for a while

' depends on where you are. Here in california, employment is "at will" until you reach executive level and get a contract. Meaning you can quit and they can fire you for any or no reason. Though the employer would have a great case for insubordination Unfortunately it's pretty hard to fire people over here.. Even when they're clearly incompetent, you have to follow very strict guidelines to give them a chance to prove they can do it.. You have to provide extra training and opportunities, and coaching, and be supportive and helpful.. ARRRGH! It's strange in a way, because people don't sue very often, so in a way there is little incentive to follow the rules. I once had someone who reported into me and another person.. It came to a point where this employee mostly sat around on Facebook and wasn't even remotely doing any aspect of her job.. I took her out for a coffee and told her she wasn't performing - she seemed unhappy with the job.. Thankfully she said yes, she hated it.. I said "well, you know sometimes a job just doesn't suit us - there's no shame in that".. She told me all about how she hated the role and begged me to let her go. I "regretfully" obliged
