Yes, point taken and rest assured I'm not going to stick it on my head any time soon, I don't even have a suitable helmet. I wanted a camera anyway and needed some input for future use, I didn't want to be buying another one in 6 months or so.

Bought the 20 last week and have been using it for non skydiving activities. No aspirations of being a professional camera pilot right now so not bothered about mega quality. Just want to film the missus in flight for our own use. Looking out for a helmet now Thanks

I'm approaching my C licence and thinking of buying the DCR-HC20 and a wide angle lens. I have done a search and found some older discussions from when this model first came out but none from a tried and proven point of view. Can anyone give an opinion???

Surely you would wait for the cheque to clear before handing over 5 grands worth of gear to someone you have never met?? These 419 style scams have been around for decades now. If you sell something on Ebay, you wait for the money to show in your account before mailing the goods, why should it be different for $5k worth of rig?

It was certainly quick to height but couldn't put a time on it. Could have been as little as 12 mins. Definitely superior to 182's but we are spoilt with the skyvan!!

A brand new one, did a few loads at Picton over the Easter weekend before flying South. It was a bit cramped fully loaded but we are spoilt with the skyvan.

I'm with you all the way. My canopy was new and the only rigs I had packed before were student ones. Came down after my first conversion jump and tried to pack it, after about an hour of sweating and cursing someone took pity on me. The next few jumps were a similar story with a never ending variety of demonstrated/assisted pack jobs, all with the same sweating/swearing/taking pity result. I waved the $6 at friendly packers until it had around 20 jumps on it and had another attempt a few weeks ago. Same sweating/swearing except this time in the bag. Wasn't pretty but it was in. Jumped that pack job on Saturday and it deployed perfectly after a 325kph head down descent. Too effing hot to pack on Saturday so it came home in the gear bag and awaits my attention one night this week! I've beaten the b@stard once and don't anticipate any more $6 waving! The 'treat it gently' comments are very valid. Good luck Paul
