Gear check, gear check, gear check. It is obvious that a jumper's premature deployment can be dangerous for both the videographer and the jumper. But a lot of other things flying at the videographer can be distracting and painful as well. I have dodged or been hit by faceshileds, altimeters, pull up cords, a helmet and even a shoe!. It is amazing how much a brightly colored bandanna can look like a pilot chute! Funny now, very scary then. karen

Mike, Steve, had been working on streamlining the tandam video process for a long time. What should be done is easy. What can be done with the issues of money, DZ politics and a transient video staff is the hard part. I would love to have a deicated video editor at CSS. Other local DZs are doing this and it is working well. If you want to talk about it , PM me for a phone number. I may be up there this weekend but if I am I don't usually sit still long anough for a reasonable conversation. karen

My loneliest moments, all on my 131st jump 11pm, 1500 feet ... I'm not going to make it back to the DZ 11:15pm, in a large cornfield .... trying to clear a PD 190's lines out of the corn. 11:30, still in the corn .... trying to find a way out. 12 midnight, behind a farmhouse .... dogs barking. 1am, walking down a country road at night covered in glowsticks .... cars slowing down but not stopping.

North Raleigh roads were sheets of ice. I've lived in the northeast and colorado but this was the worst traffic due to ice that I've ever seen. 2 1/2 hrs from Crabtree mall to my house in N. Raleigh. It's 11pm and Stuart is still not home and it looks like my 13 year old will be spending the night at school. Better there than on the road somewhere. I can't get my SUV up the hills out of my neighborhood! Everyone please be carefull tomorrow morning. I love my CSS friends karen

Jason, So, you guys finally went digital. I bet Lisa loves it. I've got a cannon 75-300. It is what I used to do all the Kitty Hawk ground stuff. What a great weekend. With the exception of Thanksgiving day and late Saturday afternoon the weather was pretty darn good. Chris, it was great to meet you and stew you in the hottub! HISPAS, you guys rock! please keep coming back to CSS. I can't wait to have a 9-way rolling tube bounce my head off the ceiling of the CASA again! Gimp, hope to see you on your turf sometime soon. Nadia, Flyangel2, Mouth, Roxy and Minx, girlfriends, what can I say? ....tequilla!!! Dalilama, As always a pleasure. There is always a spot on my sofa for you. It is an honor to have Stuart send you to bed. Just ask the Foxes! And who told the Canadians we were having a boogie? Now they'll want to come every year!
