  1. Chris sweetie, I thought you were coming to Raeford to play with the Foxes that weekend? 30/31 July? We were trying to line up a team for you. karen
  2. John and Arvel, This is the second time in as many weeks that you guys have brought tears to my eyes. First the pictures of John and his mother and now these. What a fantastic thing you get to do. Both for your tandem students and yourselves. karen
  3. I was in Egypt in 2001. Our last night in Cairo was sep 11! With the exception of a scarey last evening, it was a magical trip. We spent time at the Egyption Museum and did a Nile cruise. I still get goose bumps thinking about it. Jen, When we meet at Cross Keys ask me about it. karen
  4. The Raeford crew showed big last july 4th. Really helped make the weekend. Is this just a rumor or could they really show? Come on Sky Monkeys bring it on!
  5. Any one know what the HISPAS are doing? I love it when they show up. And the Raeford crew??? Last year we had a bunch of those Monkeys and it was great! Maybe we should send them some kind of formal invite. I love Raeford Sky Monkeys! Who is organizing this 4th? When Jim Smith comes he always brings some of the Virginia crowd with him. It is less than a month away what can we do to drum up some more excitement? karen
  6. I have several cameras and the best girlfriends in the world! Check them out... http://foxforce4.com/ karen
  7. Pam and I are planning a fundraising weekend for Jump For The Cause for the weekend of the 4th. We're thinking breakfast one morning and pink Jello shots one evening plus other specials. If we can tie in with your shananigans it would be great. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help the CSS quest for fun while raising money for JFTC. Hawaiian themed is cool. I won't do a bikini! but may have some water toys. karen
  8. a vurrry nice Friday it was. Eric, I've heard of people breaking the beer line but you're the only person I know that has untied it while swooping in! That has to be good for multiple cases! karen
  9. Now, Now boys, You can both buy the beer but..... Nothing warms a Foxes (or Flyangel's) heart like a little Patron. see you in July, VideoFox
  10. While I will be participating in JFTC with my best Foxy girlfriends. For this event I will not be a Fox I will be part of an amazing, talented group of women raising money for an important cause ... and setting a new world record while we're there. However 2006 4way is another story!!! Love my Foxies, karen
  11. Hey, If you fart in my plane I'll have to organize a video session of past east coast events! ... at least there is no desert for me (and my video) to get lost in at Cross Keys! see you there, karen
  12. Hey lookey I'm in a picture! I can't remeber the last time I was in front of the camera. Nice pictures Eric. they get better all the time. Remind me next time you see me that I have some advise for you. It was given to me by a bigtime video guy a couple of years ago. I'm a little closer to replacing my video helmet. and I want to thank all the CSSers that put on student jumpsuits and took a nature walk in search of it last Wednesday. I know some of you are here but could someone send me a list of everone involved so that I could thank them personaly. I was a very nice thing to do I want to let those involved know how much I apreciate their effort. blue skies and downhill landings, karen
  13. I did the same thing. I never even covered it with anything except a little gaffer's tape to give me something to hold between my teeth. It had almost 600 jumps and was still going strong when I lost my helmet. I have been given a prefab bite switch to replace it but will probably build another radio shack unit again. karen
  14. When I made my first tandem ( 7 years ago), at an unnamed DZ, my friend was wearing a wireless mike. After canopy opening you can clearly hear her say " Wow, this cloud is so thick I can hardly see my feet!!!" The first week we showed this to over 100 people at work ..... a major US airline. we didn't know better. karen
  15. Thanks Mike, I plan on doing a little more searching this weekend. But I was directly over the Cement pond so it's either in there or in the woods just east of there. Wind drift saved the rest of my gear from the same fate. I am currently starting to price out a new system. Wow!!! It's not just the loss of the FTP helmet, video camera and Digital still camera but also all the extra stuff thats killing me. CameyeII, protrack, ringsite, quick releases, bite switch..... If any has a line on locations for good prices or extra new or used stuff that they what to sell drop me an email. karen
  16. I["]asked in another thread[/url] about the tendancy of the FTP coming off people's head and a few people have responded there. Didn't you have the latch protection fabricated to prevent riser strike from doing this? DAMN DAMN DAMN!!! ltdiver Yes, It sucks. No, My FTP was an older model and didn't have the latch protection or cutaway installed on it. I have had riser strike on a normal opening catch on the latch but because I hold my chin on opening I have never had much of a problem. It was frustrating to have the entire helmet in my hands and not be able to raise it to may head during the spin. When we visited Bonehead 2 weeks ago I saw the improvements they have made to this helmet. Not just the latch protection but that cool little snap on the back. karen
  17. That should be properly tyed "Foxy" with a capital F! it was great to meet you. videofox karen
  18. Hey You Polish guys rock! You both docked on my legs(I was in the base) Of Dan BC's first 20way In the dirt dives you both took very aggressive handfulls of my grippers. For the actual jump I figured I would prepare for some aggressive docks Ha... was I surprised? I hardly felt either one of you dock.
  19. Quotes from the camp: "What we have here is a failure to communicate" Even funier was Kate's response of "That was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Just DON'T let it happen agian"
  20. I lost my FTP in a malfunction (my 1st ...yes beer) last Staurday. The malfunction was a classic spinning thing. The riser strike hit the latch on the left side of the helmet and took it off my head. I caught it and had it in my hands and I put the helmet between my legs (couldn't get it up to my face) and bringing my legs together that caused the spin to go faster. So at that point the choice was made for me. Chopping the main sent me skipping through the sky and there was no way I could hold my helmet between my legs. The reserve opening soft and the landing was easy in a newly planted field were I proceeded to stomp innocent little seedlings yelling "DAMN DAMN DAMN!" I found my main in a tree, the free bag and cutaway handle, in a nearby field and saved the reserve handle (yippee?) but no amount of searching has turned up the helmet. We were way out over a pond and very dense trees. The real sad thing about it that along with my TRV-27, I had just put my digital rebel camera on for that jump. I loved my FTP and had recently toured Bonehead in Perris with Ltdiver to see where it was born. I bought it 5 years ago and it has been a great helmet. I do a lot of Bigway stuff and it has protected my face from many a floater's feet. The mounting capabilities for multiple cameras are great. But now I have to replace almost everything. (I got an extra video camera for 4way.) The price has gone up since I bought my fist one. Anyone have any ideas???? or a used FTP. I love this helmet and really don't want to "settle" for anything else. karen
  21. Hey that's my "event" girl your talkin' about! Tell her to get her "little purse" and buy her a shot of Patron. She'll warm right up. except for the "F" words she yells into her cell phone! I can't believe you stayed for the 100 ways. Did Jack stay ? And remember Fortson, I've still got some video I haven't sold yet. karen
  22. Ahhh, That first landing in Eloy on a crisp cool morning right after they watered the grass. Yeehaw! Under the right conditions 1400 feet can make a difference.

Yes Billy, that was the jump. The 11 ways were set up next to each other in long "table top" formats before they broke to the 12 way star. I was able to set up on level dirrectly behind Scott and Guy and then rise up as the pieces built. This allowed me to get a pretty good shot of your cross formation "comunication" with John. yup, that was me jumping with you guys all weekend. karen

No, not beer for Chuck. He was in an earlier issue this year. Maybe beer for Laurie. Chuck, I have some great shots of Laurie makin' out with Tammy Carbone's love bird. Want any?? Thanks to the big way group for being such great subjects. I was dubbing video the other day and laughed at the extra "comunication" between Biily Vance and John Woo during the table top jump. What a great weekend that was. karen
  25. Speaking of Big Time, we had some CSSers in Aprils Parachutist. Yevgeniy, Dawn #2, Matt and Amanda are in the pictorial section. That might be beer for Matt, Dawn and Amanda. But, not for Yevgeniy ... he's centerfold material! karen
