  6. Hey Skip, I had to spread mine out over two months due to my wife not wanting to blow my wad all at once. I think I learned fine. I did two jumps every other weekend with no worries. after AFF was over then I jump three or four times a week(its alot cheaper now). If that is what you gotta do then you just do it that way. be safe and have fun, marc

And to think while you guys slave away I was jumping today. well I ONLY got 2 jumps in...
  11. Hey guys, thanks for all the tips and support. I did awesome this weekend(no airplane incidents). thanks to the tips, I was 20 meters away from the pea's my first jump, about 25-30 the next jump, and only about 5 meters my last jump. you want to talk about a confidence boost, man, I was feeling great after yesterday. Now I am only two jumps and a packing class away from my A license. Oh by the way, that acuracy thing with watching the spot that doesnt move really helped me out the most!!! thanks again, marc
  12. I think it has to do with that adrenalin overload we are all so addicted too!!! I only did three jumps yesterday in about 5 hours and was absolutely beat on the way home. blue ones, marc
  13. I have never gone on one. I just dont think I would enjoy it as much. Dont know if I would get that sense of freedom I get jumping on my own. The other day I was the last one out the door. kinda cool looking up the otter and seeing an empty bus. It was definately a first.

    BAD NEWS!!!

Albatross, I totaly agree, I just dont understand no pulls. you would think faced with this situation you would be going for everything yet people dont every year and die from it. I just get so angry when I think about it...
  15. I've been there, just like you, flopping around and stuff. the best thing I did though was RELAX. It was amazing after I learned this my arch was locked on and super stable. have fun and good luck the next time around!!!! marc
  16. Thanks for the advice guys. I did notice that when I came close to the plane I actualy thought I would land about 20-30ft before it. But I am flying a PD280 navigator, which is a 9 cell, this was the first time I actualy felt like I surfed it a bit. kinda fun but not really as I saw the plane coming at me!!! I geuss now my biggest problem is my confidence is shot, and that is the worst thing to have in this sport it seams. well at least when you only have a couple jumps out of AFF graduation. Thanks again, Marc
  17. I need some help with my accuracy under canopy. I keep overshooting. This last time I had a close encounter with and airplane. Lets just say I turf surfed with my back to the ground and skidded under the wing. No damage to me or the plane, but has absolutely killed my confidence. I have had great skydives and am now falling straight down but am having the hardest time under canopy. Yesterday after the airplane accident one of the instructors ripped me a new one and I cant blame him considering he filmed the fatality the day before and rescued the guy out of the river where he hit. Sorry for rambling on, but do you guys have any advice. thanks, marc oh yeah, it was a no wind, mid to high 90's day too!!

    BAD NEWS!!!

Just a quick update. Turns out the student lost altitude awareness and was trying to do movements below his briefed stop altitude of 6,000 feet. The 2 JM's were franticly using hand signals to get his attention but the student eather didn't pay attention or forgot them. When the student realized his mistake, he panicked and then went tumbling end over end with out a chance for the JM's to rescue him. I also for the life of me can not understand no pulls. Be safe, marc

    BAD NEWS!!!

I hate to tell this to you guys, but we had a fatality at our DZ yesterday. The skydiver was a level 7 AFF student the ended up unstable. They didn't attempt to pull eather chute. The person was flailing around so much that the jumpmaster or the cameraman couldn't get to him without endangering themselves. The cypress fired but do to him not being stable he ended up with a bad horseshoe. This is a reminder and a wakeup call to NOT lose stability. This was our first loss at the Sebastian since anyone around here can remember and everyone is really bummed!! Remember have fun but more importantly BE SAFE!!! marc

    Skygods

Down here at sebastian we have one of the worlds best relative teams(Sebastian XL,the British National Team) I would call these guys Skygods, yet they have absolutely NO attitude and have no problems helping out a low jump skydiver like me. They truly are one of the reasons this sport rocks!!! It's those other guys I can't stand.
  21. I am the same way. I flare way too high all the time and end up PLF'ing alot of my jumps. Oh yeah, I only have 2 more jumps till my A license!!!!!! later and have fun with that rig, marc
  22. Good luck mate, and try not to drink too many cervezas down yonder!!!!
  23. I went down to sebastian today to finish up my jumps for my A license. I get there and there is nothing but the bluest sky and little to no wind. I am thinking this is gonna be great. well no dice, Both the student rigs that I jump are both out of repack date and the cypres on one needs a new battery. Needless to say I am a tad jealous of all you guys and gals who had great skydives and I didn't. Sorry, had to vent somewhere!!!!!! later, marc
