So he kept all his old phones (presumably with all his old contacts), and tied together a bunch of his seperate shady deals by using the same shell company to process all of them? Does he even get what a shell company is for? I don't know whether it's more offensive that so many of Trump's advisors and appointees are corrupt, or that they're not even competent at being corrupt. Only the best... Actually, perjury is much more complex than that. Also, perjury is a crime of which Clinton was acquitted. Which means how much, really? If a CEO is cleared of misconduct by his board of directors is that case closed, move on, nothing to see? Or might an impartial process potentially come to a different conclusion? How is that your understanding? Trump was directly asked on Airforce One if he knew about it, and he said no. He was directly asked if he knew where Cohen got the money for the payoff, and he said "No, I don't know". Now both he and Giuliani have confirmed that, by the time he was asked those questions, Trump had fully paid Cohen back for the payment to Daniels, and paid him a significant amount more in fees and expenses. How is it not a lie for Trump to say he didn't know where Cohen got the payoff money, when Trump was well aware that ultimately the payoff money came from Trump's own personal bank account? If you don't think it even matters, why don't you have the integrity to admit that Trump lied? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

When you just said it was shown that Trump was telling the truth. You were asked to clarify what he was telling the truth about and you coudn't, you just switched to saying it didn't matter anyway. Now, whatever actually happened we know for sure that Trump has lied about it, since he's given utterly contradictory statements at different times. So - if you thik it doesn't metter anyway whether or not he told the truth, why did you feel the need to lie about it yourself? Can you not seperate the concepts of supporting his economic strategy while admitting that he's lying about the payoff? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Once again Rush, what exactly does the Mueller investigation have to do with ‘the left’? The investigation was commissioned by Republicans, is being overseen by Republicans, and Mueller is a Republican. How do you make work the narrative that it’s all a democrat plot? What I find most mindboggling is that the US and UK couldn't even persuade the western members of the UN security council that an invasion was justified, yet still thought that the bombing campaign and military invasion itself would garner support and goodwill from the Islamic middle east. And this was all being pushed by people whose job it was to know about geopolitics, and they just wished away the likelihood of this direct, causal link between an unjustified invasion of a middle eastern majority Muslim nation and a massive fundamentalist Islamic backlash. It's hardly butterfly effect / crystal ball gazing stuff. If I was that bad at my job I'd be fired within weeks, and the consequences (probably) wouldn't even have involved one person dying. No, he paid her off on the eve of becoming an office holder. That's why it's a campaign finance thing. But even then, like with Russia, it's not the thing but the cover up. Cohen and Trump are framing the payment as a quick way to stop Daniels from spreading lies about an affair with Trump during the election. They're basically saying it was fraud, blackmail and extortion on her part. By admitting being a party to the payment Trump doesn't even admit that the affair happened. So why the absolute, brazen, bound-to-be-found-out lie that he knew nothing about it and wasn't involved? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

I'm honestly quite interested to see what the Trump believers like Rush think about this. Lies like this are not normal procedure for politicians. There are twistings of fact, lies of omission, misleading statements, that sort of thing. But this kind of obsolute, black and white, barefaced lie is genuinely not how the game usually works. Actually I think I know what the Trumpettes will say "It doesn't matter because the payment wasn't illegal." Ok... so why did Trump lie about it? Why did he hold the voters in such contempt?
