  1. But he does have extensive government experience in the Ministry...
  2. That's superficial nonsense though really, isn't it? Looking at the states which are disproportionately powerful in the EC and you see that the "minority interest" most aided by the system is white small town America. They're not really a minority. Big cities and major population centres tend to be more diverse with a bigger roportion of minority groups within them, and those are exactly the places that lose voting power in the EC system.
  3. Some of the opera certainly did - but the September dossier did claim that Iraq could hit the UK with WMD in 45 minutes, and it would be irresponsible of the media not to report what the government was claiming. However, the main stream media also took a leading role, at the time while the debate was happening, in exposing the uestionable parts of the dossiers. Thinking that you are now somehow better informed on a subject because you ignore what the newspapers or the BBC says about any subject is pure self deception.
  4. I think you have a faulty memory. The Main Stream Media was reporting on the flaws in the Iraq Dossier almost immediately, Channel 4 News starting to call it the 'Dodgy Dossier' only 3 days after its release.
  5. First, That's not an assault accusation. Second, referenced from both Wikipedia and a general awareness of the real world... "Major national Democratic officials also called for Northam to step down, including 2020 presidential candidates Tulsi Gabbard, Julian Castro, Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris,[109][110] House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic Governors Association,[111][112] former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,[113] Senator Bernie Sanders,[114] and former Vice President of the United States Joe Biden.[115] Faced with increasing calls for his resignation from fellow Democrats, Northam has reportedly considered leaving the Democratic Party and trying to hold on to the governorship as an independent.[116][117]" Doesn't feel like closing ranks to me. Billy, do you even care that you have done almost nothing but post stream after stream of obvious, verifiable, partisan lies and falsehoods since you came back from your ban? Does it give you the slightest pause for thought that almost everything you post to support your political beliefs turns out to be untrue?
  6. Someone reposted an article about that just a month or so ago. Apparently, starting in the late '90s Congress has gutted its in-house brains trust. Entire departments and research groups dissolved, surviving ones a fraction the size they used to be. Legislators have no choice but to listen to lobbyists because they no longer employ anyone impartial whose job it is to understand stuff. WaPo, "Why is Congress so Dumb". And it's a false economy, because you inevitably end up making decisions which favour industry over the good of the country, and end up paying more to clean up the mess than you would avoiding the problem in the first place.
  7. How do you know? who are you getting this info from?
  8. Lucky it’s so easy to tell who the good guys are, amirite?
  9. That's the best laugh I've had in a long time! What does independent mean? He says that anyone currently involved in government funded climate science is not independent because of that government funding, yet he supports a massive government funded review under the purview of someone who is on record as already being a climate denier because that will, somehow, be independent. John Droz, wow. What a fucking mentalist
  10. Kamala Harris isn't POTUS yet either, yet you seem to care a great deal about what she has done. Why is that?
  11. As opposed to Kamala Harris, who was dating Willie Brown last week. Oh wait, I meant decades ago. Keep digging that hole, Billy.
  12. You didn't ask anyone about the content of the article, you said Facebook was blocking you from posting it. Everyone who responded was 100% on topic, responding to exactly what you wrote. Therefore this post you have just made is a distraction, a clear attempt by you to ignore the truth that you were plain wrong.
  13. Right. Fox News probably made a spelling error in the URL first time they posted it. In between you copying it the first time and trying to repost it they noticed and fixed the error. So then you navigated back to the site, copied and pasted it again and got the correct URL. It happens sometimes. What absolutely definitely does not happen is Google, Apple or Microsoft inserting spelling errors into links you copy onto your clipboard to prevent you from being able to post Fox News stories to Facebook. That's just crazy talk. (BTW, if you feel this outraged, oppressed and discriminated against by something that's not even happening, imagine how black people might feel. Food for thought.)
  14. Don't be so paranoid. There are two different links. You first has a typo, it says Jordaun Meadows. Obviously, it does not work. Your second is correct, it says Jordan Meadows. Obviously, it works. So take the tinfoil off your head, put down the conspiracy theory magazines, and post the second link to Facebook. To quote you... SMH!

Isn't that their job? I mean, as a general rule opposition candidates don't usually give stump speeches about how great the other guy is. You said that before. Don't you think that, if Trump had genuine information about illegal Democrat activities, it would be highly unethical to keep it a secret until its release would be personally beneficial to his own image? Because honestly, it sounds to me like you're applauding what you think is a President putting his own self-interest ahead of the good of the nation.
  16. The only thing you have said is that the auhors of the Constitution did not want direct elections. That does not contradict anything I've said. You clearly think you're the only person around who understands the Constitution, so prove it. Drop some actual knowledge. Explain where and why you think I'm wrong.
  17. No more than you have in this thread. Rambling on tangents isn't the same as addressing issues. What do you think I was wrong about in this thread regarding the US Constitution? Be specific and on topic. That's another thread...
  18. You know you still haven't identified anything I've said about the Constitution that you disagree with, right?
  19. Then why are you trying to pretend that the constitution gives the people a fair and equal say in choosing the President?
  20. She got 100,044 votes, 78% of the turnout. You may want to re-examine where you get your news from and who you trust to tell you the truth.
  21. So you’re spamming the boards because you don’t like the new functionality? I agree it’s fucking awful compared to how well it used to work, but couldn’t you express your displeasure in a less annoying way?
  22. Fair enough. Surely though at some point a person carrying on a rambling multi post string of one liners in conversation solely with themself is just spamming?
  23. Functionally speaking you are a form of democracy, it's just that constitutionally you don't have to be. The constitution now bans any form of poll tax. Good thing or bad thing?
  24. That's exactly what I said, so how is it ridiculous?
  25. To be an Elector? Not as a Federal edict, but I guess individual states could have done. The Constitution itself was utterly bereft of detail on that point. To be a voter? Well, no-one has the absolute right to vote. States can't abridge the right to vote in a presidential election through discrimination of any kind or poll tax etc, but I'm reasonably certain that nothing exists at federal level to stop any state simply taking away the entire popular vote, and triggering the biggest constitutional crisis ever seen in a modern western democracy
