  1. Again, is the prospect of two girls kissing in a film really something you consider to be overly woke? What decade do you live in? Wonder Woman was an enormous success that is spawning more sequels and spinoffs.
  2. But not by very much. So far you've very neatly demonstrated that the current situatin is awesome for oil companies and there's no inventive for them to drill their way to lower prices.
  3. Cool! Did you notice that neither option is conditional on how much they’re able to drill baby drill?
  4. Ok cool - so forecourt gas demand is about 10% below average and price is about 30% above average. Have you figured out the problem with your theory yet?
  5. Ha! In the UK you have to pay a £500 deposit to get on the ballot, and if you get less than 5% of the vote you lose it for being a useless waste of everyone else's time.
  6. From what I understand that morbidly obese man who sounds like a bulldog struggling to breath makes a lot of his money from the 'health' foods and supplements he constantly hawks on his network. Yikes.
  7. That article is well worth a read for the sheer scale of his dishonesty and corruption. While he was in court finally admitting Sandy Hook wasn’t a conspiracy, another host on his network was on tv claiming the trial was a conspiracy. He was admonished in court for not complying with an order to provide his email records, he responded that he didn’t use emails, and was then shown screenshots of emails sent from his address. Just incredible.
  8. Hard to be too optimistic though. Simply means in any other state where they don’t absolutely need to they won’t hold a referendum. They’ll just run it through their anti-democratic, gerrymandered legislatures.
  9. Which is a lot more than you get for using drugs to cheat at the game. Some of the ‘justifications’ on this one were interesting. Team owner: Watson is very remorseful over the situation. Watson: I regret nothing!
  10. Jesus. You know it’s a sweetheart deal when even the union doesn’t appeal the sentence.
  11. How does that curve work when you plug some real numbers into it? Here’s something to get you started - global oil production now is down around 7% from the high of 2019, and the average price per barrel so far this year is around 90% higher. So we get to the point where oil costs what it used to and oil companies are doing better than they are now by drilling how much?
  12. So how much less oil is being used now than normally would be? Pumps are still full. Airliners are still flying. Ships are still sailing. Power plants are still burning. Plastic factories are still plasticking. Where will all the extra oil based widgets come from to make up the shortfall in barrel sale price? More to the point, since we live in reality and not in Brent’s unicorn fart and rainbow based fantasy economics classroom - why are oil companies making much, much more now than they did before supply became tighter, and why will they make even more than that if supply goes back to where it was when they were making so much less? That is what you need to explain. Please give it a shot.
  13. Please do try and explain it. A restriction in supply has caused soaring prices and record profits, so easing that restriction will result in lower prices and, um, what exactly?
  14. Right…. Because what Shell, BP etc really want at this moment is to be allowed to do more work for less profit. What did you just say about economics?
  15. Errrm no. Not exactly. Otherwise there are a lot of rather wealthy proles out there these days.
  16. More guns now doesn’t mean no guns then. I didn’t think the logic was that hard to follow. Right, so you’re saying two separate things that changed might not be connected? I believe you can now continue this argument with yourself.
  17. Because they were scared that after shooting as many kids as possible and themselves they’d be whacked with a paddle? By the way, know what else you had a lot less of when you were a kid? Guns. I wonder if that could be relevant. By way of comparison where I live we have less corporal punishment, stricter gun laws and fewer school shootings than when I was a kid.
  18. And what a perfect description of the Republican Party that is.
  19. Then where I went to school getting detention was par for the course but rarely needed.
  20. Support the troops! Until they’re used up and sick and no use to us anymore.
  21. That's the thing so many don't seem to get, isnt it? I have never once met a trans or non-binary person who's hassled me for calling them the wrong thing. Never. But rarely a week goes by that a person I don't know, in a conversation about unrelated business, starts ranting about the problem with people who demand different pronouns. It's a scary demonstration of the power of the right wing rage machine.
  22. It is indeed completely bonkers, and one of those relate things that is rampantly abused by both sides. I guess it’s the inverse of the golden rule. He who makes the rules gets the gold.
  23. Because insider trading using privileged information that congress people learn as part of their official duties is not illegal.
  24. Private or not, what does it have to do with his insurance? He was asked why he cares about trans pronouns so much and in the space of two posts he’s gone from “I only care when it affects me directly, otherwise I’m not bothered at all” to “and don’t even get me started on how to identify skeletons! When will the madness end!!!” I mean, we all knew he was lying the first time, but still.
