Cheap, punk-ass Democrats hold hate-fest

Is this irony? (Though I must say, I have a great amount of distaste for the event as well.) "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -

I'm a Democrat, he said Democrats are the "cheap, punk-ass shitwad hypocrites" and "shit stains". Does that count? What if instead of "democrats", it was "blacks", or "people who live in Long Beach", or "Jews"? "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -

Uhhhhhhh, I'm a DEMOCRAT(demokkkrat? demon-crat?), I don't call people names, I respect the leader of my country (even if I don't agree with him), am very open minded to all different points of view (I am firm in my beliefs; therefore, why would I be threatened by someone else's?), and have been told that I am a generous, respectful, and polite guy. I also find boorish behaviour in any context, well, boorish. (And by the way, I hold Whoopi Goldberg and her rhetoric in about as high esteem as I do Michael Moore.) Don't be so fast to label people. Military Records? What Military Records?
TypicalFish replied to freeflydrew's topic in Speakers Corner
I see your point, though I am frankly not surprised at ANY politician changing his views on such things to support his agenda at the time. Call me jaded when it comes to the political process, especially at the federal level. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -
Military Records? What Military Records?
TypicalFish replied to freeflydrew's topic in Speakers Corner
If the point that you are making is that it's a fairly irrelevant consideration in the face of some the real issues, I have a tendency to agree. I can see it now: "I voted for Kerry for president, the most important elected position in the world, because he served for a year thirty years ago and GWB didn't"... Is a "racist" joke any different from a "fat" joke, or an "ugly" joke, or a "short" joke? Or religion, or homosexuality maybe? I mean a joke's a joke, right? When does it cross the line to intolerant? "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

Military Records? What Military Records?
TypicalFish replied to freeflydrew's topic in Speakers Corner
Funny, I would have thought the same thing, but there was plenty of info on the other projects; most of it not from "hard news", but from scholastic sources and interested parties, i.e., groups worried about the deteriorating records, etc. Ain't that the truth. You should hear my "Ralph Nader is secretly an android remotely controlled by Dick Cheney" theory... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -
Military Records? What Military Records?

Thanks. Haven't had any caffeine yet. Either that, or it's my "Left Wing Blinders"... Of course, if there was some conspiracy to destroy the film, I seriously doubt they would stop short of lying about it in a letter. Interesting, too that a Google and LexisNexis reveals a few bits about the Pentagon and projects to repair deteriorating microfilm, but nothing anywhere near 1996 or 1997... (1981, 1985, and 2001)... Hmmmmmmmmm... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -
Military Records? What Military Records?
TypicalFish replied to freeflydrew's topic in Speakers Corner
Uuuuh, where do you get '96 out of that? I'm serious, I have NO idea what you are talking about. If the article is true; it does kind of make you wonder. It's like Occam's Razor; what's more likely, that someone wanted the records destroyed to avoid a potentially embarrassing revelation that Bush didn't "completely" serve (which personally I could really give a s%$# about anyways, I think there are more relevant and timely issues to debate), or that out of ALL of the records that could have been "inadvertently" destroyed without being backed up. they HAPPENED to be the ones at the center of a so-called scandal? I guess the Gods Of Coincidence have a hell of a sense of irony... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -
Aren't most? What makes it a troll post? I was actually interested in the ensuing conversation as I just finished both Ann Coulter's AND Al Franken's books, and they BOTH made the "unequivocal" case for the other side's media bias... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

Group Claims It Killed Captured Marine
TypicalFish replied to mardigrasbob's topic in Speakers Corner
Or MAYBE it is the result of a botched attempt by the Administration to fake yet another capture/murder to help draw attention away from the prison scandal, et.al. Though you have to admit, those things do occur at pretty coincidental times. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -
Actually, he doesn't have to; Michael Moore specifically stated (in an interview I was watching) that he distorts the facts (his words) in his movie because (and I am paraphrasing here; I don't remember his exact words) it is a response to the way the right distorts the facts, so he has to balance it out. Of course, I am sure now we will debate what he meant by "distort"... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

I wonder what do you have to say about...

Deserter, maybe? Not trying to disparage the guy, just throwing it out there... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET -
You and I share a common viewpoint on this. I was lucky enough to be in DC during former President Reagan's procession, and felt priveleged to stand quietly and offer a moment of respect for the leader of the country I love. Did I agree with alot of his politics and policies? No, I did not. But that's not the point. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

Who said he was infallible? Fair enough; maybe "infallible" is the wrong word; I was more referring to the inability of most (both liberal and conservative) to accept the possibility that "their" man is capable of making "big" mistakes. Edited for you-know-what. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET
-
Not a theory, their words to my ears. Quite frankly, I have been quite surprised over the last few months over their willingness to share their opinions. For me, what it comes down to is, are you willing to stand behind your leader even though he has made mistakes. And I think that is a personal choice; but to believe that any one man is infallible to me borders on narrow-minded and dogmatic. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

Interesting opinion. Probably way off the mark, however. Not even. I am still lucky enough to have most of my connections within the administration, up to and including White House staffers, and you will find that whether they support him or not, there is a general agreement that he has made some critical mis-steps. Though I may partially take back what I said about "most of the military", as my random sampling (which does BTW include both pilots and ground personnel actively engaged in the Iraqi fighting) is not that large, plus being friends they all have a tendency to travel in the same idealogical circles as myself. As far as the world leaders, read the paper. Now, what does the fact that he has made mistakes say? Not sure. Does it make Kerry a better choice? Not necessarily. Even the most vehement of Clinton supporters would be hard pressed to tell you he didn't make any big mistakes. Edited for spelling, as usual. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

According to the liberals...yes. And (candidly) pretty much every conservative I know, even ones who work the hill. Not to mention the majority of our professional troops and reservists. And most leaders of foreign governments. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET

Cattle are animals with a social order, family relationships, and they communicate with each other. We do not consider them our peers, so we feel free to eat them. Ain't that a worry? Reminds me of the old Twilight Zone episode where we find an alien book called "To Serve Man"... "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET
