Saw him last, as Chuck Said, leaving Raeford. I have attempted to call him and email him .... but alast he is currently lost to the world. Flash forward --- March 2009 ---- jungle --- Chile: There have been reports of a giant black flying animal with white highlights. Experts in winged beasts spread out across the valleys and mountains but without results. Until they hear of a legendary figure that flys like a bird, ... a man / a myth .... known as the Nebelkopf. After many days for treking, they spy a figure clad in black perched 2000 feet up a cliff. It plunges off gliding across the landscape, deploying a chute and landing in a clearing. The team leader walks up to the creature and boldly and asks, "Jeff Nebelkopf I presume???" Still a little tentative for this weekend. Should know more by COB Thursday. I think I might have a suit that will fit, might be a little big. Send me a PM with the following: # total jumps Jumps in the past year # of Tracking Dives and a sense as to how they have gone for you We'll see if we can make it happen. Would be nice to have some more birds in the area. Hey Bri: I have jumped smoke a few times. I also spoke with Scott C. about it. He referred me to Jim Wallace. I purchased a left foot smoke bracket from him (if I recall for around $75). It is less bulky than the regular demo smoke bracket (of which I have one). It does keep the smoke slightly away from the leg. The cut away is a bungy cord which makes it tough to cut away the smoke while the leg wing is in place, as you have to route the cord under the bootie. In terms of smoke - there is smoke from paragear, but it is very weak and can not be seen in freefall in an RW formation. I have had several people say they could not see it (either from the gorund or in the formation). Its a little more visable given the wing suit. It does get a little warm, but not bad. If you switch to military smoke (if you can get it) it is MUCH more visable but burns much hotter and throws off chemicals and in some cases heavy metals (depending on the mixture). EPA does not favor these. There is a company that will be coming out with military style smoke with a cold burn mixture, but they have not got their production line working yet. Last I spoke to them, they said next 30 days. Speaking with Jim, there is a marine smoke bomb that will work, but you have to replace and use larger metal clamps on his smoke bracket. Like burns hotter than the paragear smoke, but Jim says its not an issue. Deployment - this is the main reason I went with the left side bracket. To get a little extra room for error. Calapse the leg wing, push head high, and when you feel positive downward sink pitch vigorusly. Should not be a problem. AGREED with previous comments. Do several dryruns. Get some video of the deployment and make adjustments as needed. Interest in a Mid-Atlantic Wing Suit Weekend ???

It was but still came loose. I've got enough space on the end of the strap that I'm thinking about adding a third snap. The point on the plot where it came undone is the hard turn shortly after leaving the plane. The "S" curve pattern after it is me trying to keep it under control until I could get low enough to deploy safely (was at a boogie). I didn't just pop the other wing and enter regular freefall because I have made promises to people to stop deploying at speeds in excess of 150. If I'd let my self go terminal without my arm wings, I'd have been in the neighborhood of 175-180 at pull time. I hope that's KPH and not MPH. -Blind WSI-5 / PFI-51 / EGI-112 / S-Fly The Brothers Gray Wing Suit Academy Contact us for first flight and basic flocking courses at your DZ or boogie. www.thebrothersgray.com

HHMMM ---- the left wing attachment came detached causing a 32% yaw and impacting the roll coeffiecent, but only during a transitional manuver to the right??? Okay --- perhaps not. If the wing did become detached, was it feedback under the elastic keeper before being snapped into place? Well stated, totally agree. At some point we as human pilots just can not achieve the degree of adjustment to get the last few % of performance that is mathmatically posible. Good in theory, but not practical. Also agree the Blade, V2, and Mach1 are at the top. Will also be interesting to see how the Ghost performs. V2s are speed demons, Mach1s give you a huge wing and lots of glide. A question might be, are you looking for distance or time??? In addition, I have seen two different pilots (Scott C. being one) useing the Blade. Scott can fly the hell out of the Blade with lots of range, flocking slow if needed or busting out some speed when desired. But of course it is Campos, the wingsuit sensei.
