And he's been a kick ass sheriff deputy in the New Orleans area for the past 20 years.

Steven Seagal. He's a kickass chef. Oh wait, that was just a movie.

I've literally been a back seat driver before now, just for a few hundred yards. Steering only, of course - the pedals are a bit hard to get to from there. I wouldn't recommend it though. You don't get the best view from there.

September 1992. I was flanked by two national champions in RW (as it was known then). One was Chris Lynch - probably best known latterly as a canopy swooper - and the other was Rob Colpus, owner of the jumpsuit manufacturer Symbiosis Suits. Don't remember who was primary and who secondary, but I think it's safe to say I was in good hands.

What, are you angling to get yourself on a Kinetic Energy billboard next? "Here, I'm not just an electricity meter."

Man, they haven't even landed a wingsuit yet. Let them get that right before anyone starts trying to pass things in freefall.

Pilot is Barry Dawson, he's a bit of a legend -
On my third jump, my AFF instructor thought it'd be a blast if we exited with me taped inside a large cardboard box. He did have a bit of trouble holding on (he said afterwards that the smart thing would have been to tape some handles onto it). But I was out of there and open barely under 4K, so it's all good.

Thomas Sports Equipment briefly supplied reversed risers with its Teardrop containers (including mine) during the nineties. There were reports of some hard cutaways on those rigs, and the risers were recalled and replaced with the 'traditional' configuration, but strengthened with tape. Whether TSE's design differed from Parachutes de France's, or whether the necessary tolerances weren't met during the riser manufacture, I'm not sure. But it has left me with the impression that the reversed configuration is a more difficult one to get right.

These days he appears on 'celebrity' reality TV shows and advertisements for butter. So he's no longer the antichrist - what a difference 30-odd years make!

I bet you didn't put that on your application form. Don't they ask stuff like that... any history of Brit-bashing in the family? How do we know your mother isn't going to use you to bring down the country from the inside?

Pah. Standards are slipping - we'll take just anybody these days. Seriously, congrats. Thank God those of us born and bred here don't have to take a citizenship test. Those questions are hard - and in many cases irrelevant. I think you'll get away with it if you maintain a speech impediment throughout: "I do sholemnly and shinsherely affirm that on becoming a British shitishen..." But if you're rumbled, well - ardent royalists that we all are, you'll probably end up thrown into the nearest dungeon.

Last time I've flown with mine I've actually put it in a hard case and checked it in as hold baggage. I know that's anathema to a lot of jumpers, but I find it more fun than carting it round the airport, and negotiating security.

nothing in the fridge but still look every 20min

shot up to cleveland and gf's mom grilled steak tonight, so that set me straight I actually never saw ghostbusters I actually meant the OP in the other thread. But if you haven't seen Ghostbusters, you should. -
Sure we are. But to paraphrase Bush Snr, we are more like the Simpsons than the Waltons.

Oh, no doubt. The problem was that the OP didn't seem to get it, which kind of embarrassed me because I didn't know where to go from there! -

By coincidence, this was my second Ghostbusters reference in the last few days. Unfortunately, the first one went wooooosh!!! -

For those who want to be remembered as sketchy.

A useful tip is to do your own sizing as well, before you upload the file. I think the maximum image size is 65 pixels wide and 75(?) tall. If you reduce your picture to within those dimensions before you upload it, chances are it'll look better than if you let the site compress it automatically.

I started 'properly' at 27, after a brief false start a few years earlier. I see no reason not to get into it at any age, as long as you're fit enough - the oldest regular I can remember at my local club was jumping well into his seventies. It seems to me that some countries (the US being one of them) tends to have an older average population of active jumpers than others. But that's probably a totally skewed impression based on the boogies I've been to.

Thanks, Nick. Looks cloudy too!

All I get is "Access denied by Smartfilter". Probably not surprising when I try to access the "i-am-bored.com" site from work.
