1) I went into the woods and got it. I sat down to seek it. I brought it home with me because I couldn't find it. I voted other, because my favourite household appliance is a WIFE. That's why they wear white at the wedding. All household appliances come in white. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

I've not heard of any problems and certainly it's not an issue with my Bonehead Mindwarp. I've loaned my Neptune to a variety of friends with various helmets and its not been an issue. First I've heard of any rumours at all on this. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

If you're looking for a device that I think does it all, and more features are in development, then consider the Neptune from Alti-2. What will the new features be? You'll have to wait to find out, Alti-2 isn't telling anyone. So you should probably only look at the current features to make your purchase decision. I've had my Neptune since the beginning of 2004 and I am very happy with it after 3 seasons of usage. For me the decision to buy a Neptune, based on ease of use and Alti-2's reputation, was easy. Well apparently he's now planning to do it in 2007, at least thats the number on his web page. There have been other previous dates set and missed. I've heard a rumour that this guy has a record of grand plans that don't come to fruition. http://www.legrandsaut.org/ Some of the links on this page don't work but if you click on Enter a few times you get more pages. Some time ago I posted a suggestion that we have a separate forum for condolences and I think I got A reply from HH that this was something he would consider implementing. That was probably 3 years ago and we've both forgotten about it. It has a couple of advantages. Easy to find threads about our friends that have died in one place and little chance of relatives finding the thread about their loved one right above one about other interesting topics that some might find offencive. I didn't see this listed in their list of features, but I don't own one so I am not an expert. http://www.l-and-b.dk/optima.html "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

I agree with Doug - I've had my Neptune since spring 2004 and I am very happy with it and I used it for 3 seasons. It was an easy purchase decision for me. At the time the closest competing product from L&B only had 2 buttons and I needed the manual to figure out how to run it. The Neptune's interface is easy! My rigger/dealer actually handed me both units, without manuals, and told me to play with them. The decision, based on ease of use and Alti-2's reputation, was easy. Or I could have made the FAQ easier to find what you were looking for! edit to add: that probably didn't make sense unless you knew that I used to work at Alti-2 and made that FAQ page Whatever you can't find on there, feel free to blame me now

How inaccurate is a ProTrack when mounted in a helmet?
IanHarrop replied to grue's topic in Gear and Rigging
With an altimeter that constantly reads high one of the things you can do to correct the problem is to send it into Alti-2 to be re-calibrated. Here's a link to the page thats tells you how. In my experience Alti-2 service is excellent. http://www.alti-2.com/repairs.htm "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -
From the Alti-2 site, FAQ: "Is it possible to over-rotate the needle past zero? No, it is not possible to over-rotate the needle. You can turn it past 0 as many revolutions as you’d like. It does not matter which direction you turn to get to zero." "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Here's an old thread that deals with this somewhat. The attachment in this post is an update to the table posted at the beginning of the thread. This table references jump numbers with exit weights and recommendations for canopy size. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1981522#1981522 This may have been updated again since.... I was out for 16 years. Getting back into skydiving is the best t hing I ever did. Yes some things have changed. People fall in all sorts of postions... on purpose.. there more than just belly flying! Canopies have changed from the old days and the throw out pilot chute is on the bottom of your container like a pud. Things change - so what - you'll adapt - I did. It's all good.

I started jumping in 1976, stopped jumping in 1987, started jumping again in 2003... I'm 50 years old, my mother is 82 and she still hates me jumping. This may be a problem you can't fix. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -
Loser! Great job. How did ya do it? Burn more than you consume? I'm allergic to excercise.... I like gravity power sports like Skydiving and Skiing. Machines take me up, gravity gets me down. This is what I did. Medically supervised, 4-5 lbs per week. www.drbdiet.com But I'm not opposed to recreational pharmaceuticals... safety meetings are good Edit to add: narcotics might have been cheaper "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Over the fall I lost 55 lbs... 10 have come back... they WILL go away again. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

I hope this isn't a repost Dude had a screw loose. Glad he didn't reproduce. Darwin saves the day! And one that fits our sport... Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
