an LCD device for communications during a skydive LOL At first I thought this was a serious post, but the more I think about it I think someone is just having fun being silly. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

But they don't die very often. I saw somewhere a statistic that looked at fatality rates for "normal" skydives versus Tandem. It looked very good for tandems. Sorry, I have no idea where I saw that statistic... probably on here somewhere "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

thought about looking here: http://www.rockclimbing.com/cgi-bin/gear/search.cgi?link_type-lt=99;query=hardware;nh=1 Don't even have to register and it brought up a long list of hardware and where to buy. Even dated that is a good reference. Unfortunately Google limits the number of pages that can be previewed. As I write this post I am limited to the Overview only, all other chapters are grayed out, and not all of the Overview is available. Up to Page 22 is all I can see, then the back cover. Look up a bit a Kallend's post Click on this: Physics of Skydiving presentation (Powerpoint, Feb. 2005) Everything in one place but you don't want to wade through all the science, I like this summary: Separation can be achieved with any exit order. BUT If the freefliers go first, adjacent groups CONVERGE. This is not fail-safe! If RW groups go first, groups DIVERGE, a fail-safe situation. It is easier and takes less thought to achieve horizontal separation if freefliers exit after RW groups "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

USPA pays for LB attorney's fees

All it takes is about $92 CDN. We have our own set of issues in Canada. Try being an effective national organization when the membership is less than 2,500 from coast to coast, and you get to publish everything in two languages! Everything is done by volunteers that are over worked. We have a headquarters paid staff of I think 1.5 bodies, that I believe works out of the basement of the 1 whole body. It has to be a tough job, she is the focal point for everything in Canada. As pres of ASPA I am off to the AGM of CSPA in a couple of weeks. Should be fun! Well, I don't really think this is a bad mark on ES. In fact, I think it shows some backbone to him, that you never saw in CN. Sorry if my post implied that it was a bad mark on ES. That was not my intention. What I was trying to say is that since the board has usurped his authority by re-hiring the person he fired, that he will probably leave of his own accord and go someplace where his decisions are respected. As of now he gets to wonder if he has any decision making authority, or if the board is going to second guess him on everything. Who need that hanging over their head? Good people leave rather than put up with that. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -

The thread about American Rituals/Traditions that keeps getting suggestions about things that are not strictly from the USA, but shared with Canada made me think of this clip. In it Tom Brokaw explains the relationship between Canada and The United States, in a pre-recorded short film that aired on NBC prior to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Feb. 14th, 2010. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYoTJItSPt0 "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

It will be interesting to watch how long the Executive Director stays with the organization. From what I have seen in the past of these kind of situations, once the boss has had his authority put in question they tend to leave. But hell, I am Canadian so I got "no dog in this hunt", it will just be interesting to watch if anything happens with the Executive Director over the next few months. I got mine adjusted just right and then I took a needle and thread and tacked it. The end result is that it is always the right size, never needs adjustment, and the end never has to be tucked in because its tacked. I used thread that was a contrasting color to the black strap so that if I ever have to remove the tacking its easy to see.
