  1. There are a bunch of younger jumpers that skydive with their earphones in, listening to music. The N3A provides a way for those jumpers to have audible alarms. I may think its nuts to listen to music during a skydive, but those young ones will never agree with an old fart like me so I think the N3A meets a need. 2. This is one piece of advice that I really hate. It has been discussed at length. Edit to add: A previous discussion on this topic http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3438103 "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
  3. Within his rights, but ethically repugnant and a violation of the spirit, if not the letter, of the Hippocratic Oath. I don't think doctors take the Hippocratic Oath anymore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  7. One of the things that bothers me what happens when you looks up a state that has no Proskydiving centers. Look at Montana. The DZs that get the big headlines are all in other states. The actual Montana dropzones are listed as at the bottom in the small print. I believe that a whuffo is not going to look for the fine print and going to miss that there are actual places, good ones, that people can jump at in Montana. When someone selects Montana they should only get Montana dropzones, not be encouraged to go to another state. Just my opinion. 14. In North America there are rules about who can pack a Pilot Emergency Parachute (PEP). I can't comment on the rules where you are because I don't know what country you are in BUT there is an excellent chance that these same rules are in place in your area. People who pack PEPs are known as Riggers. If you can supply your location someone on here may be able to suggest a rigger in your area that may be able to help you. 15. It looks like it might be a PEP (Pilot Emergency Parachute), can you confirm this? "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

  17. How do you "go back to the main forum"? I have noticed that if I use the Jump to Forum link at the bottom of the thread I am reading then everything is updated correctly. If I use the back button on my browser, not so much. YMMV

  22. And the great thing about this forum is that I do get to expreess my opinion if I want to. Maybe you augment the electrical shock system with flares or smoke signals, different colours could mean different things Now it seems to me, if I recall correctly, that once upon a time, you yourself Ian was contemplating the merritt of placing a "SHOCK COLLAR" around the necks of students to "remind" them to flare
