http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKbLNnqDcJY 60th jump, Navigator 280 loaded 0.85 As you can see, all you gotta do is being stupid. At the time, I used to swing right before hard left. But on this occasion I've interrupted hard left with FULL right (?!) Not being stupid enough - I was angry nobody told me I shouldn't try that (?!) At least I've said to myself "Way to go you Jackass" What goes around, comes later.

Was it worth it or was it worth it? If I knew how to ask him more directly.. I would. This is A history, thanks Bill. You can comment on my wl any of time

guess what - I'm back. I know, I know what I have said) Well, yes. Somebody's gotta do that too. I don't wanna be alone risking a "new stuff". Sure you can, you can allways do worse. Is there any possibility they're afraid? Of any responsibillity? He has never told me to get out of line twists by taking VALUABLE time reading a twist and giving the proper toggle input Why the wrong input? Am I really wasting my and your time saying how easy is to know The correct toggle? That's really nice, I appreciate it, tnx

- Of coarse I'm provoking, in order 4 us to learn more. - Yes, they,ve proved that they're rigidly cocky. - Oh? O.K. but thank You for your reply.. and I'm really sorry you haven't pop up earlier! I will try hard not to reply here anymore. Thank you for consideration, Yes, I mean it. What took you so long? Did you enjoy it so far? superwoman8433 Tnx for setting me free! Here's a friend whose rig I jump. 295 jumps, Cayenne 150 at 1.3 Just like Brian recommends, if I may add. "I've probably screwed packing 'cause I saw twisting even before fabric got out of bag. While canopy was inflating it continued to twist. A looong linetwist, 10+. I immediately determined direction and grabbed correct risers with all my strenght. Nothing happenned so I grabbed the opposite risers which resulted in one more twist. It was 2000 ft when I've started kicking out. It took me 600 ft to kick it out of linetwist". No spin, good. Low opening, bad. He was the one, smiling happy when I said that my toggle theory worked for me. He credited me for being able to determine direction in a blink. Yet, he didn't give it a shot with a toggle and he's not pulling my balls for discussing it. Nor am I pulling his, we're straight. Risers - abnormal strenght needed Kicking - slow and another futule effort: wanna disscuss my WL or my plung date - stick your head in and pull tha water, tell us then what happened What goes around, comes later.

How come you know that? Care to share with us? Nobody ever taught me that edit: wanna be polite What goes around, comes later.

On such occassion, I wouldn't touch toggles too, nor would I teach it or recommend it, as said before. Yet I've learned a lot just by reading such discussions. Exept hohohuhu morons having fun, people are relaxed, having time to ask or answer exactly what they wanted to. There's no such conversation live. The good part I mean. And yes, since not knowing what to pull, it's 50:50 whether you'd twist it more or untwist. Until you differentiate red and silver - don't put any gear on! Until you differentiate correct and wrong toggle - don't even THINK of it! And maybe even then. Are we clear or we are clear on what I'm saying? What goes around, comes later.

O.K. then I've got a video of me inducing a twist on Navigator 280, non-intentionaly, after which I say outloud: "Way to go you jackass" but the one you'd like, I'll see to it that it ends up here ASAP. I mean it. What goes around, comes later.

I'm gonna make you learn how to... ... identify and use (or not use) correct toggle in a blink. What goes around, comes later.
-
Sure I have, at the time. It has nothing to do with this thread. What goes around, comes later.
-
Less traveled road I've picked, maybe? I don't know, didn't pack it, was stable, blablabla, who cares, the "them" says I did ok, including da 3000+ jumps instructor who never Rsrvd, like you Let's toggle back the subject What goes around, comes later.

I can say nothing but that beside logic, I've exprimented enough, discussed and evidently tryed it in air practice.. and all that BEFORE I've dared posting for help before you, amongst others like you, you are realy hard to get help from. What ends well... is what counts Sure I agree but there's a small time gap and question is how to make the most of it before chop I'm just sick of cutaways and I'm happy I've skipped one So, I am sharing - hoping to learn weekend is tmmorow if u don't hear from me - Disregard ALL my posts What goes around, comes later.

>a loose toggle >releasing a toggle is a time waster we can't afford. It's pulled down, both hands, until untwist, nothing loose Kickin is The slow timer >maybe it could have affect on a giant, passive student canopy, those twists aren't so tight no need, kicking is good for giants. Both hands on toggle wins against 8 hands needed on correct risers, which many apply (with moanin') this is exausting, the writing What goes around, comes later.

>>it's probable I'll discover I'll need to pull silver when I realize I can't kick out of them >>would rather wait until dozens of jumpers claim that the toggle-pull worked >>Spinning linetwists on highly loaded ellipticals can twist SO tightly that it can make it impossible to pull cutaway because the linetwists holds the cutaway line in place I nurish my fears, they're with me when needed. It's impressive how productive they are, providing there's no panic nowhere near. I've feared both, G forces and that I wouldn't be able to cutaway on 2 foot long twist on Micra lines, surprisingly it wasn't SO hard and I could chop with one hand, beside that my left hand was on the way to help anyway (thanks to same fear as yours) Talking of G forces, have you ever spiraled down on purpose? I guess we all did once or more but.. I don't remember me spiraling hard left, while checking G's with my right hand - how hard it is to pull it from down to up, the hand I mean. I will try that once. Fast spinner is not a phenommenon, it's flying under command, unwanted, uncontrolled but commanded. Asymmetry causes stronger input on one canopy side. What I hate is the fact that, in my case, it flew straight until I've spread risers. So it is ME who commanded it into spin. I hate it. And I did nothing but procedure I've been taught to apply. My point is that no procedure is 100% safe.. so.. I have no doubt that somebody is going down bad, just by trying to toggle it out. The way things are so far, it's probably goin' to be me 'cause I ain't spreadin' no more. It was a pleasure reading your post What goes around, comes later.

We should sponsor Brian or so, to test it and get some explored answers. Well, it's a shame I can't afford it (yet). Search for possible bad side effects so far brought: - spectra lines burned - toggle might stay down (while untwisting) - tension knot To use solo toggle on linetwist? This is NOT a regular manoevre. Until properly researched and tested - we discuss. Some, stupid like me, use it. why?... Kicking out of linetwist? -Never was happy about it, too slow. Pulling risers? - They r full of heavy loaded lines - I'm not Hulk. Pulling ONE toggle made sense to me.. and proved (to me) >>ONCE

quoting last 3 posts Sure I can. That is why I'm so patient with you, you should spend 3 minutes to learn it like I did. It is usefull, very. 'cause I couldn't kick it out, just about to chop it... with enough alti, I said to myself "cmmon pussy, you've got a theory? now is the time - f coarse I was scared and I was pretty slow in determining... IT TOOK ME 1.5 sec to spot the proper toggle! another 1 sec for untwist. So, unsure, scared - 1.5 sec I think it's useless teaching until jumper opens eyes. I guess we all needed some time and jumps before we "opened our eyes" Good Vibrations Sinke What goes around, comes later.

Can any of you 3, determine in a blink whether it's a left or right twist? And you don't want to learn it? I wish you learn it... and never use it! What goes around, comes later.
-
Great! I wasn't wearing a knife until I was ready to use it. Just remember there is something, and when ready.. Learn it! If I knew for this in the beginning, I'd trained myself much earlier... yes I would. What goes around, comes later.

Ignorance will not help anybody. Many experienced jumpers used toggles on linetwists. They are not happy being uncertain which toggle they were pulling and in what purpose. We regularly train our EP to be certain which handle and why. Nobody wants to be under linetwist where kicking isn't helping or is too slow/low, then grabbing random toggle waching if it's helping. "80 seconds" video is demonstrating time-eating of trying everything. Watch it carefully, at one point, only ONE toggle was efficiant. If it was the only move - video would be called "3 seconds". Being living weight under canopy, when twisted, you have 2 options to untwist: 1. to untwist weight-body, by kicking in needed direction (using legs) 2. to untwist your canopy, by steering it in needed direction (using ONE toggle) So.. as soon as you train yourself to immediately identify which toggle to pull, as better. If your choose never to use toggles at linetwist - it's not excuse for not knowing. Simple and easy - follow the back lines of lower end of linetwist. It leads to toggle needed for steering canopy in direction of untwisting. Fact is I've been under small linetwist which I couldn't kick out of. Being prepared - I grabbed ONE toggle with both hands and saved a repack job. Could've been a reserve linetwist. Reserves don't chop. I beleive some jumpers are injured or even dead, trying to kick out of reserve linetwist.. or by pulling franticly both toggles. Blue Skies Sinke What goes around, comes later.

On this thread - NOBODY is asking you all your WELL known opignion on WL/Jump# Let the people give their angle on toggling untwist! Proper toggle is not hard to figure right away, you just have to read. Sinke the Flamed What goes around, comes later.

Oh yes, he knew it while writing it. A "continence" is in a dictionary. Damaged lines? Today I've learned this (from you), rigger said it was jumped today. So I'll go check it now. What goes around, comes later.
-
He was continenced about it, unlike most of you. "With only 122 jumps, I am sure it is hard for you to convince others that your unorthodox actions were correct. However, I have always subscribed to the philosophy that, if it worked, it was one of the correct possible answers. You can tell them that Brian Germain agrees with your choice. Glad to hear that you saved yourself a repack. Remember to always open high and know your altitude when you implement any fix. If it doesn't work, you still want to have enough time to get number two out. Blue Skies Brian" That's what constructive is.
-
Brian Germain in "80 seconds" video had SEVERE twisted Fast spinner, he showed us some toggle pulling there... with results. No. Usualy you don't have time to experiment. Either be sure what ur doing or don't try it. What goes around, comes later.
-
Tnx. Point taken. Yet I'll rather try to untwist it than having another reserve. edit: to untwist it maybe than reserve for sure What goes around, comes later.
-
Thank you both for stating the obvious. (start a thread for attacking me) Well, no wonder at Your WL. I could at 1.6 Can't you stick to a subject? If you immediately do the right thing, might avoid spin. (remember? kicking induced me a spin vs. toggle input) And how right this thing is? Sinke What goes around, comes later.
