  1. I was 16. She was 28. Luanna (first name). Her place. Bad memories. It's amazing how desperate you are at 16.
  2. It's about 2 'n half hours away. Quite a drive, to be honest (and that's the closest one). I just hate having to jump on very little sleep , not only is it dangerous (), it's draining mentally and physically. However, gotta do what'cha gotta do.
  3. It's certainly..uhm..colorful.
  4. Yes, yes indeed. :D I just wish my DZ was open on weekdays. It'd solve all my problems! :(
  5. Alright - I hate my job. I swing shift, which means.. For six weeks - I work Mon-Wensday (day shift) , then I go to night shift for six weeks Thurs - Saturday. My local DZ (both) are only open on Saturday and Sunday durin' the winter! Puts a real cramp on any possible jumping. Plus, sometimes (every other week, usually) I have to work Sunday... Anyone else have a job that conflicts with their hobby? It's extremely frustrating. I'd quit, if it wasn't for the good pay / insurance / four days off (typically) and the fact I don't do much.
  6. Personally, if your Jumpmaster acted like that, I wouldn't trust him. Go to another DZ or find another Jumpmaster at that DZ, one that makes you feel comfortable. That'll help a lot of those nerves.
  7. I'm in the same boat as Skyyhi. My first jump (AFF Level 1) will be December 1st, provided weather is A-OK in Kentucky. While I haven't jumped yet, I'm consumed by the constant thought of it , including rigs and so on.
  8. Tool - Reflection Duran Duran - Come Undone A Perfect Circle - Gravity A Perfect Circle - 3 Libra's Tool - Third Eye Tool - Pushit Tool - Opiate A Perfect Circle - Hollow Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes David Usher - Trickster David Usher - St. Lawerence River The Eels - The Medication is wearing off.
  9. While you all are trying to figure out who has done what and when and where - I think we've over looked something. David Blaine is an illusionist - not a Base Jumper / Skydiver. Do you honestly think he is jumping without some "trick" or illusion? :) (*No, I don't Base , but I read all the different sub-forums. :D *)
  10. This thread is extremely helpful. See, I have not done any jumps yet, but I will be doin' my first around the 1st of December at SkydivingKy.com . I was confused on to if it was best to AFF or S/L first. As much as I want to experience the sensation of free-falling, I would also prefer to have better skill / control over the things that are happening. After reading this thread, I think I will go the S/L route and maybe throw in a tandem jump here and there , if I really have the desire for freefalling. I would rather be comfortable with my skills and have more skills, than jump ahead of myself.
  11. The whole having to watch AniMatrix and play 'Enter the Matrix' is nothing more than a gimmick to milk more money out of the franchise and I bought into the Animatrix one (I like anime - sue me), but I will not play a half-assed game, simply because the developers / WB decided that to sell the game, they had to leave crucial storypoints out of the actual movie and throw them into the game..No Sir'ee. As for the DVD's, I will buy Revolutions, just like I did 'The Matrix', 'Animatrix' and 'Reloaded. Why? Because I collect DVD's and once I start a series, I finish it, even if I don't enjoy all the installments. Speaking of DVD's, does anyone else find it awful odd that all the DVD releases have been somewhat lacking on special features? Seems like yet another way to milk the franchise once all the first DVD releases are out of each film. You know there has to be a shitload of extra footage / commentarys / etc possible.
  12. I think saying they are "wrong" would be like saying skydiving is wrong. It's all personal preference and subjective. What you find wrong, someone else does not.
  13. As someone who took up an appertinceship in body piercing and has also had around 25 + body piercings , let me say this. If you are doin' it so it'll be "cute", you may end up regretting it. You have to take care of it, let it heal, accept that people are goin' to look at you different - not everyone will find it cute, it can effect future employment options and if you do decide to take it out, you may or may not have a scar. I have seen people who heal fine and I have seen people who have small scars for years (I have a couple myself from older piercings). I am not trying to encourage or discourage you, just offering some advice.
  14. Let me say this, I thought the first one was a good popcorn flick and should of been left at that. It could of been an excellent film, if just left alone. Then Reloaded came out , and a lot of people, including myself was extremely dissapointed. It was pretenious, boring and all around a diaster. It lost everything the first one had. After that, I had little interest in see'ing the series progress, but I had to see how it ended. Here comes Revolution's... What can I say? It is not near as good as the original Matrix, but it's better than Reloaded - which isn't saying a lot. Most of the film (70% ) doesn't take place in the Matrix, which takes quite abit away from it. The CG is still weak (most notably the machines ripped from Aliens). The acting is still alittle-bit out there , but it somehow seems better than Reloaded. All in all, I didn't enjoy it much, until the end. I loved the Neo Vs Smith fight near the end. It made me want the Washowsi (or however you spell it) direct a new Superman film. They have the flying, the fighting and everything down pat. With all that said, I still don't think this was a fitting way to end the trilogy. Then again, a series like this, that had a great start, medicore middle is bound to dissapoint in the end. There was no clear cut way to end this, and maybe that is why they shouldn't of bothered with the sequels , in my opinion. And with that said, am I the only one who felt after watching Revolutions, that it seemed like the second one was entirely unnessarcy for the most part? I sat through the second one, all through the pretenious dialouge, the zillion questions it posed and by the end of the third - most of them was either forgotten or truly just void. All the second one seemed to do was interduce 'Kid', 'Serph' (Orcale's Bodyguard), 'The Architech' and 'Merv' (French man). It seems as though Reloaded was nothing but filler, where as the real story started with original and picked back up in Revolutions. Also , I think it is safe to say they hinted towards a sequel at the end of this one. Will it happen? I don't know. I have to say I doubt it. The series has received a fair amount of backlash since Reloaded came out and now Revolutions, and the only true reason Revolutions is goin' to bring in the money is so people know how it "ends" and that is what WB is banking on. I doubt people will really care if Neo or the gang come back in a few years for another installment. I know I won't
