  1. Like I said, talk is cheap. Actions speak louder. My invitation to all those who claim to be black belts or those who are posting their "expert" opinions when they have never even taken martial arts are more than welcome to swing by when you're in the Tampa Bay Area. No charge for the lesson. If you can prove to me that my style is second best I'll admit and post a full apology on the boards. The open invitation is open. We'll spar to your conditions and videotape it. Results, not "expert" opinions are what matter. Only on dz.com could peopkle argue that a style is not dominate despite the fact it's students win the vast majority of every NHB tournament. Obviously this has turned into one of the political threads where people with no experience in the topic scream, "I'm right you're wrong!" No sense in continuing the back and forth posts. Make sure you take me up on my offer. PM me when you'll be in the neighborhood and we'll hook up for a spar. Afterwards we'll knock back some cold ones and do some jumps. Forty-two
  2. Yes, they tried to bend the rules towards the non-grapplers after the grapplers dominated the first half dozen tournaments. Unfortunately the kicking styles still got pummeled fight after fight. UFC and PRIDE are the 2 most realistic NHB tournaments there are. These tournaments are the closest thing to a street fight there is. Any grappling style is clearly dominate over kicking styles. This has been proven time and time again. You can throw smoke-screen all you want but you can't change facts and reality. I'll leave an open invitation to anyone that happens to be in the Tampa Bay Area to stop by. I'll give as free lesson to any dz.commer. I have many facilities around that we can use. As long as you sign a waiver we'll go as soft or as hard as you'd like. Even Nightengale and her instructor who "bloodies all the grapplers" is more than welcome to. No charge. Forty-two
  3. They aren't. That's what instructors and loyal students of those styles who perform poorly in these tournaments say about it. It's a pride thing. No one wants to admit the style they have taken for many many years is mediocre or second-best. Forty-two
  4. Proof? Video? Would love to see it. Í'm sure these were the best of the best grapplers, right? Surly you wouldnt even bring it up if these were just mediocre local grapplers because that wouldn't support your point. So, these must be some of the best BJJ has to offer. If you don't have video of this could you post the names and ranks of these BJJ stylists? Thanks. Forty-two
  5. Classic excuses for kicking styles. UFC, Pride and many others are not geared towards grapplers. Grapplers win the vast majority of these tournaments because it is the best style out there. No one else can compete with them. Name 5 reasons as to why you think these tournaments are geared towards grapplers. Also, name how these tournaments do not allow kenpo stylists to use their "full arsenal". Bottom line kenpo can use all they have in these tournaments. These are classic excuses kenpo instructors, as well as many other instructors from other styles use when someone breathes the words, "BJJ." Bottom line, grapplers dominate every NHB tournament and will continie to do so. Instructors from other styles can (and do) make up all these goofy reasons as to why their style is the best...but you can't argue with results. Kenpo and other kicking styles look pretty, but that's pretty much where it ends. www.bjj.org Forty-two
  6. ROFLMAO. Which planet does this happen on? Post some links to some major NHB tournaments showing a Kenpo stylist the winner. Forty-two
  7. Finally...a poll that is interesting. If I see one more poll asking questions purely for the sake of getting attention I may off myself. I think it's reasonably easy to decide what you will have for dinner, do with your life and other basic decisions 99% of us out there make every day without having to make a big production out of it. Champu, is this a project? Seems pretty interesting. Forty-two
  8. Parts of Alexandria is absolutely beautiful. I went there many times when I was stationed in VA. It's on my list of places to live when I retire. Forty-two
  9. Apparently this is making big news nationally. I just saw a female porn star on one of my CNN channels who tested negative. Here she is in front of the camera crying her eyes out saying, "I don't see how this could happen. We get tested every 3 months." I won't touch that one. Can I officially nominate this as the Darwin winner for comments made on camera? Forty-two
  10. You don't. It's impossible to tell with any degree of certainty. The only sure-fire way to know is go see a doctor. Forty-two
  11. What year? Any pics? I have a friend who collects old VWs. He has over 30 at this moment in time. He pimps them out and sells them. Forty-two
  12. Studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Grappling/Submission Fighting) for 15 years. Absolutely love it. Would not consider nor reccomend any other style for anyone serious about self defense. I used to teach privately (still do when I find the clients) to existing black belts in other styles that were entering NHB/MMA tournaments. I would usually have 2 months to prep them in grappling and submissions. If you are not an above average grappler you for the most part stand no chance whatsoever in a fight against someone who does, especially someone in BJJ. Forty-two
  13. Wait and see the controversy that will follow if this number winds up being over 100 infected stars. It's very likely. Forty-two
  14. Why do I have the feeling we are going to have a vast number of people claim to be black belts...oh...that's right...it's the internet Forty-two
  15. Maybe it's time to re-think your job and consider a career change. WHOOOPSIE!!!!! Forty-two
  16. Not sure why anyone would want to live with that filth anyways. To each is his own I suppose. Forty-two
  17. I'll pay a hundred dollars for both of you to keep your clothes on..... Forty-two
  18. Umm...errrr....ok, no sense in even touching that one. The internet is chalked full of experts Forty-two
  19. Throat strikes, eye gouging, biting, etc... are not "outlawed" in BJJ. In tournaments they are, but not for self defense. And what does the quote you stated have anything to do with your post? Forty-two
  20. Oh shit...here we go with the Snopes "factual" info. The day people rely more on their own intelligence and intuition and less on Snopes who states on their own freakin site that they are not the final word on anything will be a good one. Forty-two
  21. Here is an excellent site chalked full of information. Click on the Tecniques section and scroll down to the section entitled From the Bottom and look in the category called Closed Guard and Open Guard and you'll see tons of submissions and escapes with photos. You will quickly see how useful BJJ is in regards to rape defense as well as the best overall self defense. Forty-two
  22. ROFL! THose are very hokey styles. There was a guy who knew that and entered the UFC way back. He got his ass kicked bad by a grappler/submission fighter. Krav Maga and many others that are taught to military and Spec Ops units are not very good for self defense. Those are combat oriented styles. Combat self defense and street self defense are night and day. Maybe in another thread I'll explain the differences for you. Grappling is the best style for rape defense. The style I used to teach privately and still take today is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is a heavy grappling/submission style. It is also hands down the best style for self defense in general. Practically all NHB/MMA tournaments are won by grapplers. One of the reasons BJJ is great for women in regards to rape defense is that one of the very common positions to be in BJJ is one called the "guard." The guard is where you are on the ground and your opponent is on top of you while you have your legs wrapped around his waist. In other words, it's the missionary position in sex. And guess what? That's the position a woman is put in when she is being raped. Fighting out of the guard is a vast majority of our training. There are many different submissions and reversals you have at your disposal. BJJ is rapidly becoming the most popular style women are turning to for rape defense...and wisely so. Bjj, grappling, submission fighting for street self defense.....Yes. Krav Maga, SAFTA, Systema, Black Arts for street self defense.....No. Forty-two
