    4000ft Glass B

my apologies. my brain is kaput.

    Is it odd??

Odd? no, i would say expected. The most beautiful places in the US are inherently tall, massive, grand, vast areas. and as BASE jumpers, we like jumping off these things.
  3. i know magot, i was just commenting on how much it had jumped around in the last 20 posts. i thought it was entertaining. on the subject pf people going in.... maybe that boom that a lot of people said already started, some say never will happen, and some say already finished, is catching up to us, and thats why people keep going in all over the world, there is that mny more people doing it. but i dont know, as we all know BASE is really easy until something goes wrong, then it takes more than balls to do it right.
  4. so what is this thread about?

    4000ft Glass B

We just need a little bit more powerful jet engines. Jump, enjoy the unpowered flight, turn the engines at 200ft, climb up 4000ft and pull over the plateau. Parachute: $2,000. Wingsuit: $1,000. Jet engines: $10,000. The look on ranger's face as you buzz him just 20ft away... PRICELESS.

    Stronger gear

are these jumpers useing full ZP BASE canopies? or useing partial ZP topskin Canopies? personaly, i hve not jumped a full ZP canopy for BASE, but i jump a blackjack with ZP foreskin. F111 stretches slightly more than ZP, and that makes it stronger for BASE. the fabric around the line atatchment point stretches, equalizing the force and distributing it throughout the cell. BASE openings are fast and hard as you know, and ZP could over stretch, and tear. Im just speaking on opinion, i have not tested anything. I would like to jump full ZP canopies at potato to see how they do. bring a specter 220. -SPACE-

    120' S

well, I dont have much experience with tards or Dbags, but why not SL it? useing a useing a Big pilot chute, even if the SL failed, you should* have enough altitude to walk away with a sand LZ... freefall it!!!
  8. holy shite. i need to think about what i make up before i post it. sigh, sorry guys. i need to keep my trap shut. its no good these days. i have said many times to disreguard whatever i write online. i should be more open about it. but about my paraglider crash, there was in this thread a quote from a local paragliding 'instructor'. throughout my coma, this persons credentials were questioned a lot. I am not saying she was wrong, but i am saying that my instructor looked at flying later that day, and he said the winds had switched west. he did not check the winds at 7am (neither did forementioned 'instructor'), and we launched at 7-730am. (like she said, we need a NE to SE wind to fly safely at wonderland. I honestly do not remember any of that day, the other pilot flying with me does, and he swears that it was southeast. i trust him, but i would feel much better if i knew that that day was for sure very bad west wind day. i lost a lot of faith in paragliding from that crash. I completely concede that i fucked up. it was a huge mistake, HUGE. weather database reads that the upper winds were fairly strong that day out of the west. so, unless there was a light SE breaze flowing that morning, (wich is a common thing for that site, several people get up early to beat the turbulant conditions the sun brings), I must have launched in a rotor. My paragliding instructor had a very similar accident years before me, at the same sight. (we are both in the 'brain injury club') he is the best paragliding instructor in Co, and in the last 6 months have flown with him a lot. so, since this thread is a personal attack on Calvin19, (kidding, i deserve this shit for a big mouth) i am telling you that i very well may have fucked up really bad. If i didnt, then i sold a paraglider with a pretty bad unnoticable flaw to someone in Tx. I think i fucked up. I learned a lot from it. and it hurts me every day. it is the price i pay for such a mistake. it wont happen again. oh, and the kids they mentioned as the younger ones in the article on my crash, i know those guys and have flown with them a bit. they are not as bad as you would think. they fly VERY old paragliders though. kinda scary. one of them recently bought new gear with a reserve equiped harness, i had to hook him up with the guy selling it though. he was kinda lazy. people, sorry for causeing such a fuss with made up shit. at least its stimulating converstion. please, dont listen to me. i have a problem with posting stupid shit. i have asked a few moderators to ban me from all forums, but i have gotten no response. this is really not a joke, i have tried to change my password so i could no longer log on, but i still have the 'forgot password' thing. dont listen to me. really, im not going to destroy this beautiful sport, or slow it down with a bunch of shit i make up while im bed ridden. goodnight.
  9. *** Here we go again! Didn't you cover this in a past hero story thread? yeah, im just trying to get more than 15 minutes. sorry. and im really wondering if it has been done, if at all. (i was lieing, remember?)
  10. I knew a guy like that too, he said...I bet my ass on it every other jump, what's the difference? Revis said all kinds of things like that including "I'll never make my 25th birthday"... he didn't. did he go in because of a reserve mal?
  11. So, has anyone been taught to jump from a 'mentor'? or something like just being thrown out of an airplane? so, as in, a very un-organised way, or an organised way, just never done before? NOT-Static line, AFF, freefall progression, military stuff, etc.
  12. OK, seriously, who are the other 2 people who said they had done an intentional cutaway?!! i am going to citizen arrest your ass for doing something illegal, and you should be ashamed of yourself for doing something so stupid.
  13. shit, you guys got me. im just trying to make a fuss. sorry. i have never cutaway intentionaly. that would be crazy!!!!! i mean, seriously, IT IS YOUR LAST PARACHUTE! what if? but!!! that would be sooo stupid, sorry i even posted it.
  14. sartre, i KNOW you dont like me, i was being sarcastic. you didnt tell me to have blind faith in my doctor, i am sorry if it seemed like thats what i was saying. and about knowing what is best for me,,, In the 5 years i have been doing the things i do, only ONE time did anything go wrong. I made a mistake that another person made alongside me, and flew a paraglider on a day that maybe i shouldnt have. me and another pilot that was there and said it looked good to fly. i launched first. i made the mistake, and i learned from it. I do NOT get busted up all the time. in the 5 year history of my BASE jumping, Skydiveing, Rope Jumping, Aerobatic flying, Hang gliding, and Paragliding, i have gotten hurt ONCE. (this cast is still part of that) and it changed my life in a very bad way. and what is with this talk you being a wuss? i never said i was brave and i never called you a wuss.
  15. wondering how rare it is, i do it when i need a repack. why waste a perfectly good packjob and the ability to have a sub terminal freefall? not to mention the prectice of dealing with a mal?
  16. OK, have you ever cutaway a good canopy just for fun, and because you need a repack anyway? or have you ever induced a mal so it looks like you needed to cut away? -SPACE-
  17. nick, is it really good for 20 years? i thought that nylon degrades over time no matter how it is stored. i dono though.
  18. blue man group rocks. i have all of their CDs. best song is rodes and cones.
  19. huh. i thought it was a Static discharge rod, (a lightning rod for airplanes), i dont know much about airliners.
  20. You can run windows on the MacBook Pros, i have one. i love it. lit keyboard, wifi, 2 GB ram, duo processor, 100gb drive.
