it seemed linear to me, almost perfectly. if anything the biggest jump was in the first 30'. fun as hell.
-
Ok, fair enough. and i agree with you. I might have been exagerating subcosniously, the exit wind may have only been 30mph, but i think it was faster. ground wind was about 15. just enough for us to kite our canopies and get drug through the snow.

yeah, the paraglider wreck was me. and that might have been stupid, mught not have been launching in those conditions. from what the pilot said who was going to launch behind me, the conditions were good, and not dangerous. but i dont remember that day. hmm... i wil hold that me jumping was not any more dangerous than a zero wind jump. but thats just me. anyway, how about we let this thread go away so people stop getting grundly panties? -SPACE-

Ah! look Calvin19, someone else understands what I am getting at, just because he is also a UKer, does not mean you cant also understand.... Please, this all must be a joke......... mac, sorry i was not getting it. i was responding as a defense on a different subject. again, my bad. and it wa all a joke, i mean, we made fun of nate because the two jumpers were fine, and he imedietly said he wished he would have been up there and had jumped with us. i just posted it online here to have some fun with him. is there not another thread about how 99% of the BASE Zone banter is totaly useless? it was a useless post from the begginning, i wasnt bragging, just making fun of nate. he is a good freind and he thought it was funny. sorry everyone is making such a big deal about it. i mean, it should have just been me, nate, and ghetto in this thread from the beginning. but a lot of other people came in and judged us. i could have just called him or brett, but that would not have been as funny. we jumped the next night together and laughed about all the poeple going nuts over a joke post. (and nate jumped the next night. good man) -SPACE-

agreed, it could happen. but the boys did again the next night, and downwinded the landing. ground crew on my jump was there reporting 15 on the deck. with 2 feet of snow, and a square mile of open level downind, i doubt the line twist downwind would be that bad. Im not to savvy on opening parachutes, but i dont understand how high clean winds could give a person a higher chance of off heading openings on a floater. explain? i can kinda see hoe doing a normal jump could cause a arm bridal wrap, or maybe a line over, but it is relative wind right?
-
no, i got that, i was just explaining myself. i think that jumping for me was safe, as safe as a regular jump. i just looked at the situation, and made a decision. i dont think it was dangerous to jump. my bad though, i am simple. -SPACE-

Psh... And you call yourself a BASE jumper?
-
Not at all like sunburn. That's exactly the point. i know, i know, but i was just pointing out that my tissue being heated fromt the inside out from radiation kinda freakes me out.
-
that is exactly right. in all reality, the condidions were bad. my mentor would have been pissed had he still been around. but, i looked at the wind (50mph at exit, 400' up the guyed A, on ther ground about 15-20, all right between the wires), i looked at the LZ, (HUGE feild, no trees, nothing, only 2' of snow for about A HALF MILE) I looked at these conditions, thought about it, and decided there could not be a problem with a floater. if ANYONE out there can point out a possible problem with that, i would like to hear it. NATE just didnt like the situation, and as a joke, i posted it. im still hanging out with him, and he doesnt seem to hate me for a joke. weird, you know? someone NOT hateing you after a small joke? PS-it was just a joke. -SPACE-

that is actualy the point i was trying to make, almost exactly. and guys, i was just making fun of nate, it was an inside joke. keep in mind i have the brain of a High school sophmore. but, since you asked, i guess i will make that list for the other jumpers out there... THINGS THAT SHOULD AND CAN BE TALKED ABOUT ON DORKZONE ACCORDING TO CALVIN-(tom, if this could be enforced please) 1-cool things that calvin has done that is way cooler the rest of you people out there, because what calvin has done usualy has never been done before, he knows that the things he does base jumping are so cutting edge, he should be paid to just think them up. 2-weird questions that only calvin can answer, because he knows everything. 3-looking for locals i guess is ok. 4-technical questions should first be PMd to Calvin, then if he cannot answer with his endless wisdom, you can post it to the rest of, well, you lesser people. 5-paragliding, even though calvin sucks at it. 6-skiing, even though calvin sucks at it. 7-illegal things, because stuff is just a lot more fun if you know it is illegal, i know you know what i mean. COME ON KIDS, none of it matters on here. with that thread i was just pointing out that nothing matters and some people dont care what they jump off of, some people dont even log their jumps. PS- see my sig line -SPACE-

dude, last time i was buried in the FARS ,(trust me, its been lot lately, dont ask) it is illegal for a non-tsod scarachute to be even AVAILABLE for emergency use, so technicaly, if there is a base rig on the back seat of your 172, it would be illegal. huh, i have flown a crew to TF a bunch of times with our gear on the floor.... hmm.....

baby, Im a pimp from the north side of town, and my girls are the finest ass out there. i can hook a brotha up from socal! hell ya! pm me.

I dont want to say thats an ignorant statement, but I cant think of a better word. (I might accidentally ruffle some feathers with that, if I do, sorry man, nothing personal) I definately wont argue with you over jumping equipment that you're comfortable with. I think being comfortable with your gear is one of the most important aspects to jumping, wether it be off buildings or out of planes. If you're not completely comfortable with or completely trust your equipment, you should hang it up right then and there. There are TSO's on single canopy systems, think pilot rigs. I'm not so certain I'd jump one of those if my dual system was available, depending upon the circustances obviously, but for a pre-meditated jump, my choice is clear. Why would you tend to believe that skydiving rigs are sketchy, in this case, as compared to a base rig? Ignorant? well, i hope not. just different. Skydiveing gear serves its purpose for the masses. you have to agree on that. but the way it is built, Harness, is awesome, one every skyjump rig i have seen. but, very thin lines are used to take opening shock, and its not terribly rare they break. two parachutes complicte the hell out of a system. and i am comfortable with jumping my warlock and dagger all the time because i dont see the point of doing crazy freefly shit where i could need a cypress, or big ways, etc. i like tracking dives with good freinds. and wingsuiting. a reserve is packed soooo tight. that shit does not want to come out. the way i jump, and the way i think a lot of other people do, is that im doing things where a second parachute wouldnt do much, and the simple option to be able to makes the idea of useing skyjump gear unsafe. over the past year.5 i have been esentialy turning my mirage g3 into a base rig. packing the dagger into it free, lengthened cutaway cables, and 36" vented PC. i would not hesitate to take it off my local 600meter A, but its heavy. but, also TSOd. skydiveing is safe. retardedly safe. in my 4 years of jumping, i have seen more space cadet morons get to the point of being comfortable with sky jumps. so, when super simple consumers get their hands on the main canopy packing style of the modern rigs, there is no problem with that. but when your flying you wingsuit down to 1500' on the upwind side of the DZ, just behind the tree where the dzo sits, a microlined saber2 135 is not what you want. PS, skydive rigs are sketchy

a few freinds, well, i mean some kid who is epilepticaly motivated told me you cant get busted there. said it would never happen.

yes, in colorado, i know of kids skijumping in utah, wAyoming im not sure of.
-
Of course, there is no way the FAA will let a rig fly with a reserve that cannot be deployed alone. (without the main being deployed first). dont get me wrong, skydiveing gear is sketchy as hell. like most of us, ill take my single canopy system out of airplanes a million times (and i do )before i do it comfortably with tso gear. i think that skydiveing gear is doing its job fairly well. we let the riggers who know whats going on do the complex stuff, so the million retard skyjumpers can figure out the simple part of the system.

damn man, i have barely started. i guess all i have is a stock machine, and leftover material people are sending me. i like the triple articulation, but i dont like velcro man. at all. it has no place in parachutes i think. granted, its on my tailpocket and toggles... but shit, if magnets are really heavy.
-
damnit. i missed it last year, and ill be there this year.

doesnt magot live out there ? or did he die?

a week ago, i thought that was some kind of inside joke, then a minute ago i got it. shit, kids.
-
Chris man, you need a tow? ill come get you. outback is a beast.

oh, your right. the A team formaly known as the Colorado crew are smart enough to keep to themselves, and pretty much only one of them jumps at all lately. B team is more or less self destructed/dispersed, the C team moved, and my crew, the 4 of us, well... one is skiing outa state, the fat kid works to much, and the other guy thinks he is to important to keep BASE jumping. (he burned out at school) and me? well, i went paragliding.
-
there is 2 colorado crews. they dont talk to eachother much, but i think your correct. tracks in snow is bad man. like i said.... colorado is fragile for base i think. im tainted because i live here. so i dont know for sure. the way you ohio kids talk it seems that way.
