That is wayyy cool!! I remember back up on Long Island when I was in college, we were at this girl's back yard having a party and there were bats swooping occasionally not far over our heads in the dark. I thought it was cool. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I'm with mccurley... let the poor traumatized adorable bat go! It looks so cute in that second pic!

Hey, you forgot to turn on the ! Wow, I only just realized that that's a cowboy hat of some kind... the first few times I looked at it, I was seeing it as some sort of Baby Finster bonnet... Sorry!! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Hi again everyone. Tonight I painted two new shirts, a guy one and a girlie one. Here are two pics of the girlie one. It's a pink girlie t-shirt and I took the advice and made a small icon over the upper left chest rather than smack in the middle of the shirt. The paint is glow green. If you'll notice, I did not brush-stroke this one, I used the "dimensional paint" nozzle on the tube, which makes raised lines rather than flat brush strokes. They have a relief to them when dry. I cannot yet say how durable they will be, but this is the intended application for the paint, so I imagine they'll do alright. I definitely recommend hand-washing for them, though, just to preserve their life. I know that those who have expressed interest in shirts are mostly waiting on black ones. I bought a few black shirts today but I have to launder them before painting them (s.o.p.) so they'll be started in a day or so. Thanks for your patience. If you want this kind of small upper left design instead of the kind like on the first shirt pics, please let me know soon. (By the way, if anyone wants a navy blue shirt, please tell me. I bought some navy shirts thinking they were black -- hence the delay, and my having to go out and buy more shirts today. The ones I thought were black are already washed and ready to paint. D'oh!) So here is the pink shirt. P.S. This design says "Chickskydive" next to the icon. I was feeling goofy and wanted some verbage on the shirt. Please let me know what other "sayings" you think would be cool on the shirts. (My "fonts" are limited to what my handwriting can do!) -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... I have the Sonicare Elite 7800 Professional (the box says "available only through dental offices). I did in fact buy it from my dentist, who claims she sells them at cost. I'm on my second one, actually. The first one was fine, but after a couple of years the battery wasn't charging right. This replacement, the 7800, has a better-designed head, more compact and maneuverable. I LOVE it. I use it every brushing. The brushing action is far superior to a regular non-electric brush. When I travel, I put it in its case and take it. Supposedly, even without charging, a full charge is good for up to two weeks! (I haven't tested that.) On day trips, like overnight at Sebastian, I don't bother to pack it, and on those days, boy do I ever miss it! I am pretty sure it cost me about $90-100. Money well spent. It's true that it can save your gums and teeth from needing surgery. Mine are in better shape than they've ever been. Oh, and FLOSSING is essential! I'm a floss advocate now, after not flossing regularly for most of my life (and having the cavities to show for it!). It's true what they say, that you should only floss the teeth you want to keep. My recommendation: splurge and get the Sonicare. Blue skies, -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

OMG I feel for you! I've had that happen. Crept to the doctor, and he gave me what worked, right off the bat: SOMA. I went to him telling him I am not much for medication, and like to take the minimum, least-powerful stuff necessary to get the job done, and also said I'd like to avoid narcotics. So he gave me Soma, and it really did seem to help greatly with the lower back spasm that was so debilitatingly painful for me. I hope you feel better soon.

Now I'm totally confused... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Oh, shit no, it was the Sam Elliot one mentioned above (I didn't even remember that the Sharon Stone movie was called by the same name)... I hated that movie. HATED it. Sorry. You're still free to like it, of course. Sam Elliot was great, Tom Conti was great, Kate Capshaw was great, the main bad guy was really great, and even the son was pretty good! I can barely believe how much I loved this movie! There were also a lot of really nice, Ansel-Adams-like panoramic scenes. I liked that a lot. It was very artistic. What stands out in my mind most from the Sharon Stone movie was the stupidity of being able to see a daylight hole in the shadow of a man who had been shot in the chest. Absolutely preposterous. I thought that scene was insulting, it was so bad. Does anyone doubt that organs and tissue would close up around a bullet wound to the chest? I mean, the guy wasn't cored, he was shot... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I happened to pick this one up at Walmart tonight from the $5.50 bin... Ya gotta love that $5.50 bin! I had heard the title before, probably from the novel (by Louis L'Amour), but had never seen the movie, which apparently was an HBO production. I don't even know if it had a theatrical release or not, based on that. IT WAS GOOD! I mean, really really GOOD! So if you haven't seen it, or haven't seen it in a while, head out to Walmart because they might have it for cheap. I really recommend it. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... LOL! Yes, I actually did laugh my ass off at this and the other "how many cells?" posts! YOU are most correct, but I'm gonna go ahead and claim it, since it's mine, on behalf of the 9-cell-ers.

[exhaustive list deleted] Holy F'in' CRAP! My answer is NO, I can't name all the dz.commers I've met in real life because I have met some just once and just barely, and I don't even remember who they were, all of them. I've met Jib, Medusa, MMealman, Cincy, Salsajohn, and I know some lurkers who don't post much, at least in the forums I frequent lately. There may have been a few others. Oh, yeah, this weekend I met Cassidy, who surprised me by just out and saying that she knew who I was from dropzone.com just as I was about to introduce myself! ("Oh, yeah, I know you, you're Peacefuljeffrey." and I thought, "UH ohhhh!..." ) I suppose if I make it to more boogies and conventions, maybe I'll have a list as long as yours. Blue skies, -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Hey gorgeous! You know I still owe you for the loan of your rig, the appreciation for which has not left me or been forgotten.

Anybody interested in ordering: Thank you very much, I appreciate the interest (and I'm flattered)! Please PM me and I will send you back info about what they cost and how soon I can get them done, and please specify shirt size, shirt color black or gray, and paint color. I have: blue, red, yellow, black, glow orange, glow green, and glow white(ish). Thanks again! Blue skies, -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

You know, I totally agree. Make it maybe 15% smaller for either male or female. (The female's can be even smaller...maybe 25%.) On men's shirts, you begin logos (used to do the superman logos) about 2.5" or 3" down CF. Thank you for the suggestions. I'll definitely be considering modifying the design for girly shirts, and of course if people are ordering these I will try to accomodate special requests like smaller this or that. Please remember, though, I'm no graphic artist, I'm just a regular guy having fun with this and hopefully making a handful of people happy with something they'll enjoy wearing. I'm checking out girly t-shirts to do work on this week. I'll keep you posted. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Hi folks! Tonight I made another shirt with glow paint (greenish) on a black t-shirt. It came out okay, but the paint is kinda faint. I may do a second coat to bolster it. This one has a moon and stars, to give it a night-jump motif, and I decided what the hay, I'll add a little airport down below. Not sure if that'll appeal, but I figured it was worth a shot. So far, the best shirt/paint combo seems to be the gray/blue. Attached is a pic of the black one. Other shirt colors may be hard to come by, because although these are decent quality shirts, they are bargain shirts that come in a two-pack from the undershirt section of Walmart. The options are generally white, black or gray. To get better shirts will cost more, like the special Target shirts that are $7 or $9 each... I guess if people wouldn't mind spending $20 per shirt I could use those better ones. But I am can't be presumptuous enough to think that my creations merit that kinda dough. I was thinking of postage plus $15, if you can live with that. I would need to know if you want S, M, L, or XL, and gray, black, or white. (I think white may look a little too "undershirtish," though.) Please understand, if you would like me to make you one of these, that this is not my business, and I am doing this more because I enjoy making things for people that they will use and like and maybe even be proud of. I guess I'm just happy making back the cost of materials plus a little for my time. I cannot really make promises about delivery times, since I have to do this in reclaimed free time, but I suppose that "within a week" is a doable thing. At this point, I don't have any of these "in stock" and I just used the second of my only two t-shirts. (This did start off, after all, simply as an experiment.) Thanks again for all your compliments and interest. I'm feeling very flattered about now!

I'd love to be able to do that, but I don't know how to get it transferred to stickers. When I next post a pic of these designs, I'll try to make it bigger. I want ya'll to understand that the painting of them has a rough look to it; by no means are the lines smooth like a silk-screen or iron-on. To me, that's part of the charm, but some may not like that. To me, it is reminiscent of that famous rainbow-colored line drawing of John Lennon... that's what I was shooting for. A simple, sketchy suggestion of a skydiver, with as few lines as are necessary to convey an accurate image. (I felt inclined to include the pilot chute and "halo-esque" slider so that the design would not be too "whuffo" ) Does anyone know anything about getting an image scanned and put on nice quality vinyl stickers? I'd appreciate the help!

OH MY GOD, people!!! I am overwhelmed! THANK YOU! I made the shirt simply because I wanted a very plain, no frills, "here's a minimalist pic of a skydiver" shirt, and to be honest, I totally did not think that it would receive such positive regard, so thank you for the compliments. The other thing is, I NEVER expected that people would say, "I'd like to buy one"!! To answer questions: I made the design to be about the proportion of the S on Superman's chest. It starts about 2 in. below my collarbones, and the guy's feet are just about 1 or 2 in. above my navel. The design is one I just worked out on my own but I admit that I myself felt it just has to be a derivative amalgam of various ones I've seen all over the place. I tried to make it not be a copy of any other found on a specific logo, but I could not be sure that it wasn't. I'm glad to see that no one came back and said, "Jeff, that's just [insert brand here]'s logo!" The problem I would have with selling these to you all nice people is that I did the painting freehand! I am not sure how the next one will come out! LOL! If that is to your taste, and you wouldn't mind your specimen being "personalized" as a result, well, by all means shoot me a PM and we'll talk about maybe me making you one. I am looking into doing them in other colors. In fact, in a few minutes I plan to make one with green glow-in-the-dark paint on a black t-shirt. I'll post a pic if it comes out okay. I'm also thinking of making some with "sayings" on them, stuff like, "YEEHAAAA, BABY!" or other stuff that seems to carry the feeling that the "swoop" look of the icon looks like it has, to me. Thanks again! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

QuoteIf a dog ever gets its jaws on you, force yourself further into its mouth. This decreases the force it can use to bite with and will attempt to get you out of its mouth so it can get a better bite.Quote Yeah, and then I'm usin' the thumb of the other hand to go right past it's eye into its brain! I once had a Jacob's Creek merlot (I think it was a merlot) that was the only red wine I've ever really liked. It was SOOOO smooth and velvety, and didn't have that alcohol bite. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Heehee! I bought some fabric paint and made a (crude, but cute) skydive t-shirt for myself! It's a minimalist sort of design, kind of just a line-drawing, but it was actually exactly what I set out to do! How do you like it?
-
No. I believe that no breed of dog is inherently dangerous. It's up to how people train the dogs. Getting rid of the breeds that people currently train to be vicious would simply result in some other breed or breeds being used instead. If you cut off the end of a rope, you do not create a rope that has no end, right? If you get rid of the most popular dogs from which people create vicious fighters, the next most popular breed for that becomes the "breed of choice." Then what, do you ban that breed too? What if you suddenly find that they're training black and yellow labs to be vicious? No one is talking about banning German shepherds, but they are so commonly trained to be attack dogs. Just because it's the police using them doesn't mean those "K9" dogs aren't vicious. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

True, to a point. Like I said, I've been self-studying these things quite recently, as a coincidence to finding this thread. I have vague mnemonic tricks for memorizing certain states. Yes, if they give you some middle states initially, it's hard as hell, even if you do know how to label them on a standard blank map with the state outlines. I remember the cluster of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico as "U-CAN" Plus, they're the only ones that meet at a perfect "four corners."

One try, 94%, 14 miles, 376 seconds. It helps that I had only just last week been studying my U.S. geography for the hell of it, having realized that I simply didn't know which states were which, in that confusing mass in the middle. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind...
