Okay, now that I've fixed that for ya, what would you say about "wants" justifying things that really should not be because they are dividers? - You just compare the enslavement of people to a gay themed boogie. bravo sir, bravo You just missed my point yet again. Bravo. Maybe it was about the idea of justifying something that is not right, simply because people "want it." - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... "White guys enjoying a 'black concert'?" I really don't know what to say, here. If white guys called something a "black concert," suddenly we'd be opened up to criticism for paying too much attention to race; for singling it out as a "black thing," and we'd be excoriated for being "racist" or "bigoted." When are we ever going to iron out what IS fair and what ISN'T fair to say? It really does seem that restrictions are placed on "the Majority" (which just means "white," whether you're in a place where most of the people are white or not), and the "minorities" (even if they are in the majority in a given place) are allowed to say whatever they want, and do and associate however they want. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... And most people click through software license agreements without reading them. I'll put you into that group then. You'll put me into that group? What if I don't wanna be in that group? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Even a bad lawyer could make a good case that you have not done all that you could. I have seen this with my own two eyes. If you really understood the current legal climate, you would understand why it has become necessary to do such things. The "current legal climate" is a bad thing. Catering to it by having everyone do these bullshit "cover-your-ass" measures (even when they are intrusive or abusive) is a bad thing. How will this bad current legal climate get rectified if instead of standing up against it, we as a society keep running scared before it? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... "Long range" and "self defense" do not pair well in court :) They do for the prosecutors! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

This is not a troll. I am dead serious right now. And I don't want to be dead tomorrow. I don't want ahandgun because I've never shot a gun before and I don't know if I would be accurate enough. That's why I think a machine gun would be good. But I think the grenade launcher would be better. I need something with a large range. Something I can't miss with. Yeah, THAT'S not a troll. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Good thing the AR-15 is not actually an "assault rifle." (Where is the selector switch, anyway?) Let's remember he said he's never fired a gun before. It doesn't sound like he figures he has time to get training in how to handle it, so maybe your advice against him getting a gun is appropriate. Ahh, there we go. Normally I don't ever tell someone that it's a bad idea to get a gun, but I have a hard time trusting the judgment of someone who has decided to go ahead with a plan to turn his girlfriend into a whore, gets himself and her into trouble with potential murderers and/or clients, and then wants to rush out to get an AK... Why would you say that .223 is "a bit expensive"? It's been a while since I bought some (still have an old supply from some years ago), but I don't remember it being expensive. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Its good when someone knows their limitations. http://www.aclu.org/about/index.html The mission of the ACLU is to preserve all of these protections and guarantees: ...aaaand, nothing at all about that pesky Second Amendment. You know, the one that the framers threw in there among individual liberties to protect the "right" of the government to have National Guards. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Are you talking about in the United States? That is so clearly unconstitutional I can't believe it has been attempted. That is a clear prohibition on the free exercise of religion. If it's truly happening, it needs to be challenged in a very serious way. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I agree. The police have no place doing anything like that. I strongly believe that there needs to be a complaint made to his superiors. (Hopefully he is not representative of the entire chain of command, there!) - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Dude, whoa! Communication breakdown! I was honestly asking what you were about in your post. How am I supposed to track what your political predilections are? I thought you might be someone supportive of HC running for president and wanted to know if people thought her being a known lying cunt might hurt her chances. I think it SHOULD. - I was reading about her local appearance at a fund raiser. -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I do like HowStuffWorks.com I have shown a few people that website at work, so that they can gain a better understanding of how skydiving works. I remember when I did not even know which part of the rig contained the main or the reserve. I coulda used that website back then. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... My condolences. I know what you're going through. I had a cat from when I was in high school, and when she was almost 16 she got sick. She suffered a bit before she died, and it was hard to watch her go through that. On the other hand, my sister has a cat that's over 20! Go, be with him, comfort and love him. And be sure to always remember him after he's gone. Peace. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

You're kidding, right? When the commonest refrain of complaints against "politicians" is that they are lying scumbags, you can't possibly be unsure whether that's good or bad in a politician. It's BAD. I don't care if being a "good liar" (oxymoron) enables a politician to "get things done" -- I don't think we should tolerate "leaders" who are so good at lying that we have trouble telling when they are or are not. Personally, I want Hillary to rot in a ditch. I think she is an evil, power-hungry wench and I have never liked -- or trusted -- her. I am guessing that you mean this thread as a sounding board to figure out if she has a chance because you want her elected, not to figure out if she'd be good as a leader. I start from a position of thinking that we should do everything we can to prevent her from being a leader. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Look, I don't pretend to know what PHP and all that means, or why it would be something someone would want to censor out of people's IMs, but I find it disturbing how easily people brush off censorship just because it's "so-and-so's rules" of the house. It's not "not censorship" just because you're using someone's network. Think about it: would you accept the notion of Bellsouth using computers to bleep out certain words you said on the telephone just because it's their lines? And if they had never even told you they were going to do it. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Well, Bill, the fact is it isn't a personal attack; I'm just expressing my point of view that I feel you really were deliberately evading my point. Is that wrong? Why didn't you address what I said about the actual text of the citation? And what are you doing still up?! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
-
Come on, Bill, are you going to call it a personal attack if I say you're being obtuse about this? I can't see it as anything but. I asked you where "black" was specified in the article of the Constitution that you quoted. I was looking for, "It's not in that text at all," but you got the buzzer. We have some lovely parting gifts for you, though. edit: The post you referred to initially was the one where I pointed out that the Constitution did NOT guarantee rights based on a person's skin color or ethnicity. That's fact. Now, whether inherently flawed Constitutional issues were wrongly and bigotedly (is that a word?) decided by flawed Supreme Courts is a different issue. I dare say that they WERE wrong to ever uphold slavery, but slavery is not permitted by the Constitution. It simply is not there; no language in the Constitution can truly and bona fide be claimed to support denying equal rights to anyone on the basis of race. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Why was this thread even started in Bonfire when it is of the kind of nature it is? It's made for Speakers Corner. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I like that piked loop exit that Patrick Swayze does... And Anthony Keidis fighting over the lawnmower was cool, too.

Damn, man. I'm very sorry to read that. I wish you strength to get through whatever comes. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
I was going to call "BULLSHIT" on your post but I couldn't make enough sense of what you said to justify it. So I'll just call "nonsense, "antagonistic", and "stirring shit for the sake of a lost cause." How's that? Whatever, dude. Like I care what you think about what I think. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Well, answer your own question. DO they hold "gay gun shows"? Or are they just a group that advocates that gays, for their own protection, ought to empower themselves so that when true violent bigots attack them, they are not defenseless? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
