Yeah, well...that's all fine and good, but I think Kerry does a lot of talking and posturing. I absolutely love the way he's now a friend of gun owners just because he can stand for a photo holding a shotgun. This shit doesn't prove a thing to me. All it does is show he's already got his hand out for more money needed for his world-saving programs. What else is new? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Too bad the headline used the term "zero intelli..." I mean "zero tolerance." As far as I'm concerned, those are danger words that signal the imminence of unintended consequences. And too bad also that I'll bet a big part of Kerry's "plan" to combat gangs is to offer $50 vouchers for athletic shoes for every "assault weapon" that gang members turn in. Keep watching this space for all the brilliant money-spending ideas Kerry has to stop gang violence. I guess Clinton's "midnight basketball" didn't get the job done. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

If you had half a clue about the situation, you would know that they are actually doing the exact opposite. How 'bout you don't get personal with the attacks, eh? As a matter of fact, I do have more than half a clue about what is going on in this situation. The "thinking" of your governmental superiors is that Brits won't "binge drink" if the pubs are open til later into the night. They won't be in a rush to get their "last call" at 11:30 and then pound a shitload more than they can handle. I can't wait to see how this works out. "Too much drinking going on? Leave the bars open longer!!" Fault couldn't at all possibly lie with morons who just drink too much, and then become belligerent assholes. Nope. That would put too much focus on the human causes of the problem. Surely the problem is much more likely the result of poor scheduling. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... He did know he would be resurrected. However, you don't consider it a "sacrifice" that he suffered and died the human death that he did while he was here? Also, if you try and conceptualize the enormity of the holiness of God and realize that he did that at all (stoop to our level in order to reconcile with us), do you not see the huge sacrifice there? First of all, NO, it is not a sacrifice to die when you know that the pain will be temporary and the reward eternal. I could cut my own leg off with a chainsaw, I think, steeling myself to the pain, if I were wholly convinced of a heavenly reward. The fact is, I am NOT convinced of it. I doubt anyone is so convinced of it that he would end his own life prematurely just to move on to the heavenly reward. In fact, doesn't Christianity prohibit suicide as a sin that will get you hellbound? I wonder why that is. It's probably because if not for the prohibition against suicide, many Christians who live in utter SHIT conditions would just say, "Hey, why live through this suffering? I'm a believer -- I'll just go to heaven NOW!" This would defeat the purpose of those who CREATED RELIGION in order to EXERCISE CONTROL OVER WEAKER MINDS. If those controlled masses realized that there was an escape from slavery, or poverty, or disease, or oppression, they'd just TAKE it. Then the controllers, the higher-ups in the church, would not have a population of serfs and peons on the backs of whom they can live lives of opulence and luxury. Second of all, reconcile with us? What did god have to reconcile with us? You mean for "original sin"? I can't believe that people who would never accept a government punishing them for the crimes of their predecessors accept such treatment from their god, as though it is fair to them to be punished for stuff they themselves never actually did. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... My youngest boy is 2 years old. I pretty much understand and can predict what he’s going to do based on his previous actions. He’s always getting into trouble. I’m not controlling him when he does those things. I just pretty much can see them coming. However, I demand obedience when the time comes in certain instances. It’s for his own good. By the way, my Strawman is glued together pretty tightly. Your strawman is as weak as any I've ever seen, your claiming the opposite notwithstanding. Even if you knew your son with 100% accuracy, this analogy is not apt. Unless, of course, you are saying that you could find it in your heart to let your son put his hands down flat on a red-hot skillet despite knowing that he would be perfectly willing to do so. Now, go a step further and DEMAND that your son put his hands on a red-hot skillet just to prove his love for you, knowing that he would be willing to do so. If you know that he would be willing, you don't need him to do it, especially since it would cause him excruciating pain! And if you knew he would NOT do it, well, then, why put him through the test if not to just humiliate him? After all, you know him so perfectly that you can predict his every action right on through to the end of his life... All of this is still utter crap, as far as I'm concerned. But anyone who wants to believe it, feel free. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

Jen, none of it makes any F-in' sense! It's just needful clinging to irrational, self-contradictory fables, defended by meaningless doubletalk. Don't go expecting that someone will lay out for you a clear, concise, rational and well-mapped explanation of how this all works, because it's like trying to connect three gears in a circle and have them all turn together. The parts jam up. Any "explanation" you are given will probably be confusing and still contradictory, and in fact will probably try to use the bible's own text in its proof of itself. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Back on EARTH?? I thought the point was that your SOUL would survive and exist in HEAVEN forever and ever. WTF is this about being restored to a new body? Do you get to choose which model? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
I didn't read your link, but does it mention that in the 2000 election, many Florida counties, having realized something was wrong with the felon voter list, SCRUBBED THE USE OF THE LIST and allowed anyone who was registered, to vote, and did not attempt to purge felons? That means that any felons OR non felons that the list would have prevented from voting DID have their chance to vote, and even despite the heavy felon-democrat connection they still did not turn the tide in favor of Gore. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

You repeatedly disparaged him as though he were a coward avoiding responding to your thread, even though he had. You most certainly DO owe him an apology. I don't blame him for saying he thinks you lied. It was a little too convenient for you to simply say, "Oh, I had noticed you HAD replied, but then FORGOT all about it, and then went on to post specifically that you had NOT replied." - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
-
No...that's the point. They had a list, but it wasn't of Florida felons. So how could a list of felons who are not even Florida felons have kept Florida felons or non felons from voting? How would the names on a list of Florida voters and TEXAS FELONS intersect? If I had a list of the names of kids in my fifth grade class, and someone gave me a list of someone ELSES'S fifth grade class and said, "Keep these kids from getting on the bus for the field trip," how could that possibly keep anyone in my class from going on the field trip? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... ABSOLUTELY!!! Yes, just ask the folks in Palm Beach County. I live in the heart of Palm Beach County, in West Palm Beach. Sorry, Kallend, I view that as a quasi-personal attack. Would you care to show me how I failed to vote properly in the 2000 election? If you think you can paint everyone in the county with such a broad brush, come up with some evidence that we are any worse at voting than anyone anywhere else. The infamous "Butterfly Ballot" was no mystery to anyone in the MONTHS leading up to the election when registered voters received it in the mail. That ballot was ACCEPTED and AUTHORIZED by BOTH SIDES until the results of the electiondidn't go the way the whiny, bitch-assed Democrats didn't get what they wanted. Suddenly it was the BALLOT'S fault! "Oh, waaaaaah, it was confusing!!" What a load of absolute bullshit. The fact was there was nothing wrong with the ballot that anyone with an IQ over room temperature couldn't figure out. If you voted with that ballot and weren't sure you cast your vote for the guy you thought you did, you were a fucking imbecile and we're probably better off without your vote counting anyway. But next time you want to bitch about people making generalizations, Kallend, I'll link you to this post. There was no more screwup in PBC than anywhere else. It just happens that concerns were voiced here that didn't get voiced anywhere else because it didn't come down to the "anywhere elses." - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... The big fallacy is that aperson has to be racist (i.e. in his personal, business and political life, he holds a person's race against him and will discriminate against him) in order to enjoy the humor of a joke that plays on race or ethnicity. That's just not true. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

So now there are rules for jokes... Does the FCC know about this? I laughed until I realized that this joke's funniness was against the rules. Then I got all bitter and angry. How DARE they?! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Umm, he hasn't been a fat guy in years. He's no worse to look at than Ted Koppel, that's for damn sure. Or that misshapen thing they call Katie Couric. Or that freakshow Larry King. I agree. First, join AOPA. If you want to be a pilot, they are a great resource. Also, if you want to be a pilot, you owe it to other pilots to help support them in the adversity they face from government on down to bitchy whiners who move near an airport and then want restrictions to cut down on airplane noise. AOPA is instrumental in fighting for pilots' rights. Second, buy a red book by a guy named Gleim (pronounced like "slime"). Get the one for studying for the FAA Private Pilot written exam. It is the BEST. It has all the questions in the bank of questions you could possibly be asked, and lessons on the correct answers and how they are found. Third, buy the DVD set of the "King" course. John and Martha King are renowned in the industry for putting out a very high-quality series of videos that take you through passing the written. They even have them for Instrument and other ratings. I read that Martha King holds every FAA pilot qualification there is. Wow!

I'd never bring fists to a gunfight. I'm much more about enjoying skydiving than delving into the fray on dz.com -- I had been skydiving for months before I even found out about it, and if it disappeared I'd still be skydiving. I jump as many times on a given weekend as I can both pay for and get packed in time for. (I still do a ... um ... 'leisurely' pack job.) I don't bring any of this to a DZ. Ask BendyWendy. I met her two weekends ago at Skydive Sebastian and we got along just fine. I don't think that many people from here would recognize me too well if they're looking for the confrontational, condescending, arrogant, belligerent guy they see here. What, you thought I didn't know I came across that way? Blue skies, - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
