    But did we ever hear from the people who, because of their infallible god and religion, kept insisting the world would end then, after the world didn't end? Did they come out and finally admit, "Well, the non-ending of the world despite our 'God's word' that it would end then does actually prove our religion to be baseless"? Of course not. None of them have the courage to do that. They're like the Hydra, and when you cut off one head, others grow to replace it. When you completely dispel one myth, or a given prophecy does not pass as predicted, they pooh-pooh it as irrelevant, or they never acknowledge or bring it up again, and they start talking about the next prediction.     So who says that the guy has to be saying what he truly believes? Maybe he's just mixing it up so he can get more coverage? "Pat Buchanan changes tune" gets a lot more press than, "Pat Buchanan spews more of the same tired ultra-right-wing rhetoric," doesn't it?     Hey, c'mon, who's stepping on your neck and forcing you to? I don't believe the "4 times less likely" thing, anyway. What I've been reading is that U.S. crime is at a 30 year LOW, and U.K. crime has gone up about 40% per year since 1997 when you banned guns. Go figure. The rate of gun ownership and the number of guns privately owned goes up every year in the U.S. by several MILLION. How can we have a falling crime rate? I guess guns aren't the cause of crime!     I am, because I despise religion, the thought behind religion (or rather, the absence of rationality and intellectual honesty in the thought) and what religion has inflicted on humanity. You seem to have a problem with my screen name -- despite numerous posts I've made in which I explain why I have chosen it -- to the exclusion of other people whose screen names you could take issue with, and I suspect it is directly related to the differences of opinion that exist between you and me. You stop and criticize me "not living up to my name" as though there's some rule that I have to -- and then you say nothing about anyone else's name, or its relevance to what they post.     Protestors Storm U.K. Parliament Makes me laugh. The same country struggling with rampant crime, the inability to keep people safe from criminal predation, the refusal to recognize the people's right to protect themselves, now can't even keep its Pariliament from being invaded by unarmed protestors!     Look, I can't say that I can corroborate that this stuff is actually what is found in the bible -- but I have no trouble believing it. I guess you could call it "faith." Why should I demand proof that it's true, anyway? Someone came and told me this is what was said by God! Once that claim is made, I'd be a sinner to disbelieve, right?! Thanks for posting that. It was eye-opening. All the crap that people say about a merciful and just and kind and loving God... I guess it's all a load of shit when held up against what the bible actually SAYS.     This is exactly why I am no longer a Methodist, but agnostic. I still believe in a God, but I refuse to act like a believe something that I don't just because a book that's been translated from language to language and interpreted a thousand different ways depending on your culture, says that it's right. Isn't it AMAZING that despite how OBVIOUSLY IMPOSSIBLE it is to be sure "your bible" is right after all that screwing around with it that has occurred historically, there are people who maintain that every word of it is true, and the original intent of GOD?! Jesus, I have like five 30-rounders for my Match Target HBAR!! All preban and perfectly legal to have during the ban! And my HK USP has two 13-rounders! I certainly AM entitled to my opinion, but often it is only by virtue of the fact that I ASSERT my right to my opinion, not because others grant that I do have that right.
