  1. Yep. I've thought about it. I read about it. I weighed the pros and cons. And it just doesn't seem worth it. I have a family to think about. Sure it's enjoyable. But I've come to the conclusion after reading and seeing all the close calls, and crashes. To many things to worry about. Not enough personal pleasure to keep it up. I'd like to say sorry to a bunch of people. I've read to many threads and there are many more less dangerous things to do. Yep, I'm going to give up driving. Just going to stick to safer hobbies, such as skydiving.
  2. FREE BEER?!?!?!? http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  3. I like when someone farts and you say "smells like vasoline". http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  4. Personally in my opinion, whether true or not. He makes a good point. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  5. Aside from being a classic.... "Fandango" with Kevin Costner has got the funniest skydiving scene ever. I just bought it off ebay. And it's a great movie. Check it out. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  6. DO A TANDEM... FOR SURE!!! The only way to go to experience skydiving. That way you get it all. 60 seconds of freefall from 14,000 feet. And training takes about 1/2 hour. Ignorance is bliss!!! The S/L jump is nothing compared to a tandem jump. Roller coaster.... HA!!!!! You'll soon forget about that wimpy roller coaster. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  7. As far as getting out the windows.... not happening. The windows are about 12" tall, by 2'. BUT... There is a hatch on the top of the arch used to change the light bulb up top. So, there is our safe way to the top. And it's nothing but grass and sidewalks under the arch. Would be a great base jump structure. Chute heading on opening wouldn't be much of a concern. I've also seen billboards around St.Louis asking for $$$ to help preserve the Arch. They need $$$. WE HAVE MONEY. IF..... http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  8. Video's cool. My own opinion though... and you asked. The music did nothing for me. Then again, I'm one who thinks skydiving background music should be more like, megadeth high speed dirt. Video was funny as hell. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net

  10. don't they usually have a windtunnel? that would be fun to try. i can only imagine the kinds of aircrafts that will be there. since i won't have my required # of jumps, I wonder if they have tandem jumps out of the c-130's. I'd love to jump that ship http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  11. I just made my first skydive this year. So I'm new to this whole skydiving world. Tell me about the convention. Have you guys ever been there? I thought I read as many as 5000 skydivers?!?! How many jumpships will be there? I CAN NOT wait till August. Granted, I'm seriously doubting I'll have the 50 jumps needed to be able to jump, but you can put your money on me being there. Is it in Rantoul, IL, or Quincy, IL? As far as camping out, can I bring a tent and cooler and just set up to spend the weekend? I'm sure it's a blast. Can't wait!! http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  12. Ok, how many of you can say you've never felt as ALIVE as when you leave that plane? As close to death as it might be, you feel more alive than you ever have.
  13. I just have to say again how much this sport has ruined my brain! I wake up thinking freefall, gaze into the sky while driving at work, and think of skydiving till I fall asleep. Not to mention the dreams!!! o the dreams!!! http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  14. i need info.... plllleeaaassee http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  15. anyone know where to read up or see pictures of this event. it happened years ago. a man climbed the arch with some sort of suction cups, and base jumped off. would love if someone knew of a site to read up on it. i also heard heard another story containing skydiving, the arch, and a bad outcome. not sure if it's true. anyways. thanks for everything DZ.com people!!! http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  16. Lost prairie? Is it an instructional video? Or what? http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  17. Well, I've only got 3 jumps under my belt. And I sure as hell don't know how to freefly, let alone solo!! But I would think freeflying could really eat up some altitude at times. I think I'd really want an alti. Maybe I'd offer my freefly buddy $20 to let me use his. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  18. I have to get my A license early this year so I still have time to really learn to skydive. Well, I'm a poor bastard, so at least get my A license. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  19. Think of the turbulence from a chopper. Probably not to many hop n' pops from a helicopter.
  20. So I guess he was telling the truth. He seemed to be being honest. At the time he told me that, I had never jumped before, so I had no clue. I guess he kinda helped prove how problem prone they were. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  21. I have a question. I was working for a man(remodeling his kitchen). He was telling me that he was in the Navy. And he did a lot of parachute testing. Including what he claimed, testing ejection seats after they had supposedly fixed the problems with the chutes deploying to soon after ejection. But he was telling me his final skydive was a 7 chute cutaway. He said he had problems cutting away his 6th chute and when his 7th opened, he had one swing before impacting the ground. He said when you watch the video, he's putting his hands down as if it's going to save him. He said he broke his back, which he did walk with a cane, and named many other injuries. Anyways. My question is, has ANYONE ever heard of a seven chute cutaway?!?! Or was this guy making sh** up? Also, what kind of scores do you have to get on your Navy entry test to get that job?!?!? Testing broken ejections seats?!?!! ALL RIGHT!!! http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
  22. 4way altimeter bad? I don't understand. Forgive me i'm a rookie.
  23. I was reading a post and a guy was saying he hasn't wore an altimeter for the last 700 jumps!! That just seems crazy to me. Just curious if there are many jumpers that rely on audible or eyeballing for altitude. http://bodypilot.bounceme.net
