The Champion is ok - it's in the "No-Ho" area and not too far from Bradley's! it also sells cheap beer - you can get a pint for £1.6o odd!!!!

I'm away from 4th July to 15th July so can't make that - but I can always catch up on the next meeting...

No, I didn't find it. It was still in the bag when it fell away into a wheat field (crops about 2 - 3ft high).

I like Bradley's Spanish Bar just off Oxford Street. It's tucked down a back street out of the way. It is very small however but is good if the weather is nice as everyone tends to stand in the street and play chicken with the taxis (you'll know what I mean if you've been drinking there on a Friday evening!) It even has a proper juke box with real 7inches!!!! Probably too small to be honest but it has to be added to the shortlist for the pub crawl!

Live in Streatham (around the corner from Caz), work in South Kensington (around the corner from Caz), jump at Chatteris (same place as Caz) and also Sibson - or at least I did until I lost my main last w/e

Perhaps we should nominate a pub which will become our place to hang out. We could bully the landlord to make it a skydive themed bar, there are certainly enough of us based in London. Somewhere central would be convenient for everyone. Anyone got any suggestions? Maybe we could draw up a short list of the suggestions and organise a pub crawl to inspect them all.

I see the vote at the moment is 50:50 so why not combine the two ideas?

Where are weapon 3, 5, 8 and 12 then?

An American Skydiver in London. (Brits: suggestions please)

You could go to Sibson and take a look in the field across the road from the LA and look for my main! I lost it yesterday, it fell into the wheat field still in it's bag -
And one day some other country will kick your butts and they will be the leading nation - you can't rule the world forever, not unless you destroy it of course

I've recently started training as part of a junior 4-way team. We fly the exits ok but the second point on the hill is proving more difficult. We don't rush to get the next point in fact we wait until we are sure the exit was stable. Once off the hill we have no problems with fall rates or proximity and the latter part of the skydive is much better than the first part. We obviously want to build more points and the most obvious way to do this would be to start building the second point much sooner. We tried it on our last skydive together but it seemed to cause a problem for at least one of our team (i.e. the ground and horizon are not where they would normally be in relation to the formation). Any tips to getting to the second point quicker?

Plenty of ideas but nobody has asked why does he wants to know.....

No. You're wrong. In fact it is usually the arrogant attitude that many Americans have (not all of them) that people don't like (e.g. thinking you have the best country in the world). Yes, you have the military and financial power but so what!!?? That does not make me jealous, there is more to life than money and killing people. There are good things and bad things that come from America just like any country in the world (including my own). I don't hate America but I don't particulary like it either, it's the ignorant people that insist it is the best country that I don't like.

Jealous? What of exactly?

The Catholic Church and Capital Punishment
Red_Skydiver replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
From reading the New Testament I was under the impression that to kill was wrong, in any circumstance. However I was baptised and confirmed a Catholic and I have to say I haven't a clue what the Catholic church stands for anymore. What I was taught about the religion as a child suddenly got thrown out of the window when I became an adult resulting in me being totally confused and turning my back on it all. If the church can't make up it's mind what it believes how do they expect us to follow them? -
Post an interesting fact that you know...

Three times the circumference of your head is equal to your height - I didn't belive it but it is true (give or take an inch)!! -
Balls of any description can't be used to kill people

Better late than never. I did ask a few people who were over there after I left but they couldn't find it. It actually never occured to me that someone on dz.com might have it before now!! (A bit slow I know!)

It's the early afternoon here, sat at my desk in work doing .... errrr ....my work....... -
I was at Skydive AZ over xmas and new year and lost my watch (kenneth Cole) It wasn't too expensive and in fact the strap had broken but it still worked and I had become quite attached to it. I was camped in the alternative landing area when I lost it. I did see a watch on the ground one day (about 7th January) but it was upside down and I didn't think it looked like mine so didn't pick it up. Anyhow, I couldn't find the thing the next day and it looks like it was picked up by someone (probably thrown in the bin!). There was a group of Canadians setting up camp at the time it was lost - have any of you got my watch?

How do you know you're drunk?

Oh - I forgot to mention a daily beasting too...
