Don't know his last name, I'm afraid.
-
Well I've done 2 balloon jumps and didn't feel a thing, just the rush of adrenaline and wind!
-
I get nervous in the aircraft before every jump (110 to date!) Some times it is worse than others though, usually after I haven't jumped for a while. I often say to myself the next jump is my last but as soon as it's over I want to go again! It's the deployment that scares me (or the lack of!) Once out of the door the relative work tends to have my mind focused so I don't think about it. If it wasn't scary you probably wouldn't be doing it, if it's easy it's no fun! You just gotta learn to handle the nerves.
-
If that's true then why is there no feeling of dropping when jumping from a balloon?
-
Bad spot, off landing, low turn and air lifted to hospital. Don't know the guy but I was first on the scene. Sorry for posting here but as talkback is not working I thought this was the most appropriate place to post.

Does anyone know how Ross from Langar is doing?

Hi, I'm another Chatteris jumper and work in London. There's a group of us meeting tonight in Reef Bar at Waterloo station at 6.30pm if anyone wants to come along.
-
I'll bring your videos for you but you'll have to pay a ransom!! Meet you in Reef bar. I have let the parachute club at Imperial College know about the meeting, doubt they will turn up though as they are all on Easter holiday at the moment.

*** The actual wording in the BPA operations manual is: Student and Intermediate Parachutists must wear a suitably sturdy open faced, hard protective helmet without a peak. AND FAI ‘B’ Certificate (Red) holders may wear hard protective helmets acceptable to the CCI/Team Leader. See link for manual http://www.bpa.org.uk/safetydocs/Operations%20Manual/sec%206.doc

Z1, soft touch black :-( Bloody good point though, I reckon they must have it the wrong way around. If you can land in a specified area then you will be nice and safe and won't need the full face but if you can't land where you want then you might very well need the full face!!!!! Better get some hop n pops done then I suppose to get it out of the way - at this rate I'll have my B licence for about a week before I get my C licence!
-
Just checked BPA regs and you're right - B licence and 50 jumps and CCi's approval. Bugger! Just have to do the 5 pre-declared landings and hate them!!!!! Anyone wanna buy a brand new full face helmet?
-
Watch it doesn't bite your balls first!
-
And maybe we should introduce HS1 qualification (Hand Shake 1) to keep up with the freefly dudes in USA.
-
We need B licence? Damn! Haven't got mine yet but have just ordered a full face. Oh well..... better get jumping then! I thought it was a minimum of 50 jumps required though not a B licence. Am I wrong?
-
I thought the regs stated at least 50 jumps before wearing a full face helmet.

And one day that lapdog is going to piss all over you
