http://uspa.org/publications/manuals.pdf/2006IRMEssentials.pdf Excerpt from the IRM (Instructional Rating Manual) Check page 16 A 4 for qualifications for an AFF rating. 6 hours is a requirement. Some people have been ready with 6 hours, however it is rare. I have seen people with 12 hours of freefall struggle in a rating course. If you are serious about attaining your rating with the minimum 6 hours I highly recommend finding an AFF Evaluator in your area to help you better prepare. If you can not find one in the area, then consider visiting somewhere. Many skydivers travel to "train" for RW, freefly, canopy piloting, etc. edited to make link clickable DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com

Follow the manual. What is right for one rig may not be the same for the other. Kelly posts on here a bit and hopefully he sees your post and responds himself. Till then my advice is follow the manual, and for what it's worth I have heard Kelly say more than once that the grommets are not suppose to line up on the main for an Infinity. Your avatar and profile both show you jump an Infinity. Look on the back side of the ring covers. On one side is the data card pocket and the other is a pocket perfect for keeping pullup cords. DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com

Integrated Student Program vs AFF
djmarvin replied to foxykatie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What is the ISP? From the Skydiver's Information Manual, published by USPA. AFF is a training method within the ISP. Read the above link to better understand the choices you have to learn how to skydive. DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com -

Jay Stokes - 640 Jumps In 24 Hrs (Was: 600 Jumps)

Last time I checked the webcam from Skydive Greensburg will not be running. Their ISP does not currently support the ability to run a webcam. (at least not what they have setup) (this info is based from conversations I have had with the DZO including helping him talk to his ISP to setup the camera) For now you can follow the event on Jay's website www.mostjumps2006.com in the blog section. Updates are suppose to be made regularly and video clips will be posted to the site as well. Good luck Jay!! Just got off the phone with Skydive Greensburg. Looks like Jay is currently on pace for about 30 jumps an hour. Who knows how that will hold out, but that puts him at over 700 jumps if he holds the pace DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com -

Never been punched while on the main side. I have been punched in the nose by a flailing student while on the reserve side though. DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com -

I have been posting alot of stuff on here about the boogie for Bob (Skydive Greensburg's DZO) The reason I have not posted anything until now is partly because of the lack of internet access I had down there. Mainly it was because of the time I spent in the hospital. Both for Erin (the young lady who hit the powerlines) and because of myself and "rough landing" I just made it back in town and am now getting things together to get looked at here. So if my lack of attention has been noticed here (which I have seen noone bring up my name) I have just been busy attending other things, my health. The other option is listening to Bob sing the long version of Stairway to Heaven sometime after midnight (every night)while heavily medicated and drunk from his balcony high atop the Radisson. (he does this every weekend at the DZ too) Seriously though we will have Sirius Satellite Radio at the main tent, but not allowed through PA because there is already music playing through the Radisson PA system at the poolside restaurant and bar area. Their music cannot be heard at the beach at the registration tent. thus we revert to satellite technology. I can speak for Bob in letting you know that he can not adequately express the joys and bounds of his happiness at the thought of being able to provide music to you if you really look like your picture. And he is over 50, but looks only 72.(he is standing over my shoulder dictating to me) DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com

We have now have a charter bus for the boogie. It holds 30 people plus space underneath for gear. The bus will depart for the Marco Island Airport every 30 minutes. DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com

Would you buy a new PD reserve because it packs smaller?

I understood that from his post. But that is still my answer DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com -

Don't know.... Since Proven as safe, but slightly higher price was not an option. I would be willing to pay more, but not alot more. DJ Marvin AFF I/E, Coach/E, USPA/UPT Tandem I/E http://www.theratingscenter.com
