4+ Month's of waiting for a pair of Birdman Pantz?
Supergeil replied to Supergeil's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Ordered a pair of Pantz 29.marts and haven't got them yet. My rigger have PM them a couple of times. And the answers every time was, they should be ready to ship in a week of two. Got my S3 pretty fast but that long delivery for a pair of Pantz seems crazy to me, anyone discovered the same? -
Blowing into the camera with the mirror flipped is okay but read the manuel first. If that not working you can "delete" those pixel with dust in the menu under Dust Delete Data but then again read your manuel.

I have heard from my rigger that all containers without an poptop are going under the bulletin. So Javelin and Teardrop are not under that don't now if there is others. But thats the same problem from the Mirage bulletin problems when it packed poor and with a loose loop.

Experimenting with Linesets
Supergeil replied to packing_jarrett's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Now we are talking linesets.... I heard that if you lengthening the upper steering line you will get a longer opening. But how much and how much longer openings a lets say katana or sabre2 ? -
That would make it a really wide helmet. I don.t think there is a box built for it but a L-bracket could do the job but would look and work really bad. I think top mount is the only way to go with that camera.
-
Those I have seen had it top mounted. Is it a quick release you are looking for? Here is a good discussion about it. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1950032;search_string=camera%20mount;#1950032

The base plate is rock solid so thats not the problem. It's the gab between base and mounting plate that's allow it to move. -

Just got my Schumacker quick shoe mount from paragear wanted it because of the low weight instead of the stroboframe and goldmember. And when i got it all mounted on my helmet the hole camera could move 2-3mm from side to side....not good for a still photo Found out that the problem was a little gab between the baseplate and the mountingplate on about ½-1mm. Wrote to paragear and asked if that could be right and the answer was....yes that was normal on all movable release. I put two layers of tape on the base and that fixed the problem, so the permanent solutions is going to be a thigh layer of paint to fill the gab. But I am pretty pissed to pay 95dollar for a precision work that is far from precision in my world! -
Yes readability. In the beginning the protector was some kind of sticky to the screen and was readable. But I got some dust on it and it's not sticky any longer. We haven't got a swooppond so it doesn't matter to me.

Camglowe and mounting for Eos 350/400D
Supergeil replied to Supergeil's topic in Photography and Video
I am about to buy a still, and I would like to protect it in cold/wet conditions does there exist a glowe for that? And what kind of mounting is good? (got at 2k whit flattop) -
It is a logging alti. Records and displays jump information about the last 200 jumps including exit altitude, deployment altitude, freefall time, max. speed in freefall and max. speed under canopy.
-
The Neptune display is not good in cold conditions, and I don't like the menu, but just my opinion. Why not give the Viso or Optima a look? It is from L&B, and I like my Viso a LOT! http://www.l-and-b.dk/viso.html http://www.l-and-b.dk/optima.html

I would find something else to jump, got one ones very brisk openings an not very predictable too. We used to call it a Monaaaarrrrgghhhh, because thats is what you are yelling when the opening hits you
-
What else than the slider is different on the "big" Katana? I got a 120 and there is no mesh slider..
-
Hi ward. Thanks for the answer
-
Yes but yours is a G4 not quite the same problem. But I live in Denmark and the call to states will cost me the price of a jumpticket or so. But maybe thats the way to go. Would be very pleased with a useful answer from them. If they only response on easy problems then my next rig is going to be a Javelin.
