What is your main goal to increase opening or freefall seperation? It sounds to me like you are tired of comming up short and want to get out first for a better spot (joking)

Ditto to you the day I did AFF one 1 person was killed and his girlfriend was seriously injured while jumping at another dz. When I came back to do AFF2 that weekend a Jumper went in also. It was a rough start to my career. My mom almost had a heart attack hearing about the incidents. BSBD JASON!

I am a Firefighter/Emt, but not registered in the state I jump in. I will still provide services if something happens. I have even been scoring up equipment to keep on hand in case of a incident

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are $15 jumps to 14k. Last weekend we scored 15k

Cool I am about to order myself a wings I spent all day yesterday figuring out all the colors and options for the rig and main. It is gonna suck to wait on it. I wonder how much it really cuts off the build time if you pay the extra money to get a rush order.

Yesser that is right. Most people think you have to be in cold temps to be hyopthermic, but you can catch it even if it is 80 degrees outside. We really need to watch it B/C people that are getting pretty deep into the stages of hypo. do not think clearly and are a risk. The body is a awesome thing, rerouting blood and such to compensate for shock and trauma. On a side note for somone that runs across this this winter here are a few trips to treat it. If it is in the early stages with symptoms such as redness and tingling you can do a few things such as; move the patient indoors, activly rewarm the body part under luke warm water and then cover with warm blankets and massage. If it is in the late stages, such as complete numbness, purple, brown, blue or waxy looking skin DO NOT massage the tissue, or run under water this causes damage to the tissue, and under extreme conditions cause cardiac arrest. Cover the patient with a warm blanket and transport to medical attention immediatly the patint needs to be rewarmed from the inside out with warm IV fluids and such.

The talk is that most people think it is the "anchor" effect from the trailing inflated PC that is the bigest problem, but I read it is more the deformation of the top skin at the bridle attachment point from the tugging PC that causes less performance, but it will be ok.... just a tid bit of gathered information from here

I tried that, but the moisture made things worse. I even waited till the last minute to donn them and that did not work. I found out that some gloves can be to tight restricting the blood flow even tho they did not feel to tight it was enough to do it.

Well I spent about 15 minutes typing a long thought out post about my feelings on this topic only to hit post and find out that the thread was moved here and I lost everything I typed I will sum up then. No matter if you dont like the person sitting next to you on the plane we are similar people. We are family and no matter how far we live from someone that goes in or gets injured it changes and causes emotions in all of us even tho some people deny it that is one of the processes that we must go through to get over things. We are responsible for ourselves, each other, and the sport. The only thing we can do is EVERYTHING to stay safe the rest is not up to us.

Sorry I was in a hurry this morning, so I could not spend alot of time to think and write a whole lot. From my experience using the program to put everything in view this is how it went. Using the wind speed settings that are commonly found every weekend at my dz most of the time when slow jumpers exited the plane first the seperation at opening time was usually over 800-1000 feet. When I had the fast fallers exit first the seperation during freefall looked good at first, then shortly before opening the fast faller either came close, or suceeded in crossed over the top of the slow faller resuting in opening seperation of 80-140 feet. That is with normal winds, if you play with it and put combinaitons such as; very high uncommon upper wind speeds, change the jump run from upwind to downwind or things like that you can make the program show that it is actually better to have the fast fallers go out first. This is is what I got when I played with it. I am still struggling to grasp all the different variables and put them together to make complete sense of the subject

Run the program that kallend(sp hurry) has sometimes you can get away with the exit order that you speak of due to the winds, but for the most part you are opening less than 50-100 feet of seperation with most times the jumpers cross over each others own "airspace" that extends above them and below them commonly called the "tube or pipe". If one were to cork have a premie, or freak out and deploy early you could have a freefall, or canopy collision.

One thing I notice is that when the beer light comes on the plane is tied down, but I still see people drink then go pack rigs. I know that some people will laugh and say well yea that is what a reserve is for. IMO if yor get unfocused and hurt you or anyone else that is not something to laugh at.

I dont read up as much as I should and I am young. I like G.B, and I love this country, but I think it is all going to hell.
