    How did you "take 3600 lb per side"? what kind of test was it. Were you jerked somehow in a harness with 3600 pounds per side? That would add up to 6400 total on your body that is 3.2 tons.

    Well since it was a easy landing noone really said anything to me other than the guy on the radio kept saying hands up hands up. After I landed he told me if I brake like that again I could hurt myself.

    Ok this is my first skydive and my first try at resizing a picture. The skydive went well and I hope the pic does too The second picture with the guy going head down is cool. Anyone see a problem in the last pic? I will give you a hint the ripcord is in her hand! I started to pull too late and did not grap the ripcord on the first pass so she pulled at 4500 as a safety measure.

    I an a pretty scientific type of person I like to know how everything works. I see that most rigs are rated webbing 6000# and hardware 5000# and lines go anywhere from 500#-750#. What kind of loading in pounds is put on each canopy line and the set of lines as a whole on deployment(ballpark). I realize that opening speed, pack job type used, and user weight will affect that number. Is there a formula of speed vs weight that can get close to the actual number? I was just wondering how close the rig comes to the limits of the material. I realize it is designed not to come within a percentage of the max weight. It would just be cool to know 5-10% 25% of the strength of the material

    Well since i only jumped once I will have to say Otter since it broke my "skydiving cherry"

    I understand and will follow how it should be done from now on. What I did was out of instinct. It seemed good though. It was a 370sq.ft canopy. It just slowed down and coasted in. After reading how a fast released brake could turn into a down plane at 20 feet it seems like not the right place to be in.

    Wait a sec gold coast is open 7 days a week now? I have been waiting 6 weeks for a chance to come out on a weekend and do AFF2. If 7 days a week is true it is a glorious day!

    I had a question about 1/4-1/2 brakes on landing. When I did my first jump when I was approx 20 feet off the ground I slowly started to flare to 1/4-1/2 not nearly enough to stall it, and it felt really good. At approx 6 feet the radio said flare flare and I made a light one knee slide landing. When the guy on the radio came to me he told me if I ever do that again that I could hurt myself. It felt really good to me it was like stopping at a red light I slowed down a bit and flared to a stop. I realized that if I started to stall I would release the brakes. My question is do you or should you come in with a light brake? Sometimes? Never? What would be some contradictions for not doing it? This is all based on a no to light light wind situation. I realize also that adding winds brings in a whole bunch of other variables to add in to the mix.

    Gmanpilot Sorry for your loss. I have no clue what I am going to do when mine passes on. Luckily she is only 3 now. You should be able to claim pets as children on your taxes. Other than having a tail my dog is the 3 member of my family.

    Tough can't describe it. My healer got hit by a ups truck in the head. I took her to the vet she got 4 staples in her head and never once looked hurt or sad. All she thinks about is where her green ball is at all times.

    My computer updated itself to the new Internet Explorer 6.0, now alot of sites say that i do not have the right version to view this page. Alot of sites that have pictures shows up with little x'es where the pic should be. Even the gallery on this site shows that "you do not have permission to view" when I am signed in or not. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem

    It is a Sharp mini DV model no VL-NZ50 I got a great deal on it. It runs new 480 and i got it fror 150 new. It was a family deal as a marrage gift.

    My sharp takes video full time , and when i get to the computer i firewire it to hard drive and the software can take any frame and make it a pic.

    Where does it show that(and how) the rigs were tampered with? I am not seeing the whole picture. Did nothing happen when he threw out and cut, or what? Even though they are cleared now, what singled the 2 guys out of the 200+ that I read was there.
