    I think hand cam is alot better than most people give it credit. If you're an outside video dude you most likey will only have bad things to say about hand cam. If you have little or no hand cam personal experience you will probably only have bad things to say about hand cam. Just like outside video there are good AND bad hand cam videos. If you aren't a competent instructor, you won't be a competent instructor with hand cam... ...therefore, incompetent instructors should not be doing hand cam (or tandems). Hand cam is not something you just throw on yer wrist and hope you get a good shot...people that do this only give hand cam a bad name, please stop. There should probably be more rules and guidelines as to who can do hand cam. Those are my opionions.

    I've heard Australia has rules and shtuff as to who can shoot handycam...minimum jump numbers, etc...does anyone know exactly where I can find that info?

    I probably don't have it right... I'm talking about an original quasar (two of them in mind) that was sent back to Strong for up-dates of some sort and they also added the "flingers" is what I think they first called it....the springs added on the reserve flaps. But I'll call strong. Thanks.

    Sorry the way I read it, it was talking about Quasar II's...I didn't know a Quasar being up-dated made it a Quasar II.

    Yes, they are in rigs with adj. MLW's. But no, those have been checked and checked. Same canopies in different rigs with different jumpers. All same left turn.

    Actually the ones we got and jumped today are fine. We were just worried that they were gonna all have left hand turns cuz the last 3 new ones we got did have turns.

    I don't know exactly why they turn...but it's not the lines, it's not the jumper sitting in the harness weird. We have some parachutes that have a left hand turn now. I'm not sure why they weren't sent back. One that was "really bad" was sent back. But to me ANY turn is bad. But we just got more, haven't jumped 'em yet...but everyones thinking these are gonna turn too. We'll see tomorrow...

    If you purchased brand new canopies and they came with a significant built in turn, would you keep it and just "deal" with it...or send it back to be fixed?

    Just curious what people think about the rig that are jumping them... What kind of canopies do you have in it? What do you think of the clear reserve top flap? What do you think about the different design of the adjustable harness? We have 300 mains and even that seems like a tight fit. The clear top flap here seems like it will be damaged very soon and will be a pain in the ass to repair. The harness seems to slip quite often. I adjust mine to make sure it's shorter before EVERY jump, other wise I open with a chest strap in my throat. Overall the rig is pretty freakin sweet. Oh and the magnetic risers do come open every now and then, but don't seem to flap at all and beat your ear, they just stick straight up.

    Because the Army is evil and likes to take something fun and make it as miserable as possible...they take skydiving and put you on a round parachute which equals no fun.

    Yup...and rain SUCKS! Good thing I go back in less than a week and don't plan to come back here until atleast the summer...then leave again for the winter!
