It just showed a preview of some dude getting hurt skydiving on the 700 club. Anyone know anything about it? ...His name is Ben something from skydive snohomish in washington.

Hey just an update for everyone. Long story short, we've been landing on City property that was being leased from the State. City lost the lease because they wouldn't sign a revised lease re-newal (basically an attempt to get rid of us jumpers). So, land went back to ODOT...ODOT placed no trespassing signs. We then landed elsewhere on the airport. After a bit and for whatever reason the owner here at Eugene Skydivers did some investigating and found out that in fact where we've been landing IS CITY PROPERTY. So pretty much the City has been paying ODOT to lease their OWN LAND since 1994. Urban has copies of the deed from 1987 when ODOT sold it to Creswell. It's for sure. Pretty hard to believe that the City and State were that stupid. But good for us in that the City can't not let us land there unless they want to break Urban's lease...which I'm sure they wouldn't. That would be too expen$ive for them. A story will be on the local news here KEZI at 5pm. ODOT officials and Creswell officials haven't really commented...I'm sure they're pretty embarASSed. So WE ARE JUMPING! (and never really stopped) Glad to see that hard work and efforts by Urban Moore with Eugene Skydivers have finally payed off!

Your Mom's GREAT!! I got into Tand Vid back in March. So far I love it. After doing tandems for a year it's neat to see their face instead of just here them screaming. Plus, you get to work quite a bit on your flying skills and canopy skills.

OK But it still seems weird that a reason for one thing to be ok is the same reason for another thing to not be ok. I mean I totally get why. I don't even like doing night jumps alone. Having someone strapped to the front of me equally freaking out wouldn't be fun. It just seems weird.

So...if tandems are student jumps in that they can't be performed at night...then why can they jump in high winds? I mean why aren't tandems limited to student wind conditions or allowed to jump at night...following a sunset safety brief of course. Seriously, maybe this has been brought up before...but ????

Your right! Skydiving is dangerous!!! People drink and skydive, people do drugs and skydive. Experienced people fuck up and hurt themselves when they skydive. It's a dangerous sport and nobody should do it!!! But seriously...it's different to TRY and be safe and still fuck up...than to inscrease danger (alcohol/drugs) and fuck up. Your right, what's scary to me is normal to you is crazy to others.

...because sparky wanted my justification yes, 1. my very first jump. I wasn't that thrilled with it...so then did tandems and on to AFF. Yes mister board/pm police...I will keep pm chat in the pm's and board chat on the board.

I don't think you read what I quoted from PM's she sent me. She had a lack of confidence in her instructor before I EVER came in to the picture.

I agree. If your doing something that you need to find out from others why or how it's fun...it's probably not for you.

Yeah I'm sooo kidding. No, really. I probably only put about 25 or so jumps on the one I had to demo, but it seemed to just cut through everything. Under anything else, (SET, Icarus) I bounce around like a crazy person. I haven't seen anyone else really jump one so it could have just been a fluke weird thing for while I had it.

I ment 365 but too late to edit.

I've flown the SET, Icarus 330 and 356 and the HOP 330. HOP to me is definately the best in turbulence. In any condition actually. I have about 675 tandems.
