  4. So glad it's not just me!!! I have 35 jumps and I have not jumped since November (for alot of the same reasons, was working ALOT..as soon as I quit the part time jobs, the weather got COLD)... and am getting on a plane this evening to get to warmer climates and jump, jump, jump at the New Orleans Skydiving Center. And I'm a little scared!! I was really starting to get very comfortable w/the door. My feelings are a little mixed. I 'm not looking forward to the ride up AT ALL.. That was always the hardest on me mentally. I'm sure it's a minor anxiety attack waiting to happen. Going to do my best to be very aware of my breathing. BUT actually looking forward to to the door!!!!! I wanna just throw myself out that door and fly dammit!!! I'll be doing my refresher w/someone I know and love jumping with, so that also makes it a little easier!! And I'm looking forward to just getting there and seeing some great people I haven't seen in a while!!!!! So, yes I too am nervous..but it's all good..will have a great time!!!!!!! You'll be fine in Florida..have a blast!!!! Now I actually have to start getting myself together and wait to get picked up to go to the airport and get out of this SNOW HELL!!!! Peace....be safe..have FUN!!!!!

  9. It was COLD, VERY COLD!!! Many students took advantage of the free refreshers....I took the packing classes, from Chris and practiced packing and stuff. Ya know, everything tonight just made me realize how fortunate I am to be learning here. Cross Keys is the SHZIT...and EVERYONE there is SOOOOO awsome. The instructors who gave their time freely, Dave Pancake, Range Luda, and of course...MARK KRUSE....THESE GUYS ROCK!!!!!!! And I mean they ROCK>>>>>>HARD!!!!!! Mary deserves the honorary HOOOOOOOORAAAH!!!! And Rodger!!! Thanks to you guys soooo much. I knew before, however, it is reinforced by now, that I am SOOOO SOOO lucky to be jumping here at Cross Keys...these guys are like my second family. I am SOOOO fortunate to be a part of this... SOOO FORTUNANTE for IT!!!!!! Thanks guys!!!!!! It was a blast!!! Loretta
  10. Yes, AFF#4, jump #8. I thought it was great!! He's got over 14,000 jumps....I know he wouldn't do anything to endanger me or himself. I trust him 200%
  11. I've had the pleasure. Was totally not expecting it at all...my first was on AFF#4 and on just about every one after that. The first was the best though!! I remember after checking my chute and steering check just laughing and laughing, grinning from ear to ear and screaming "Oh My God!!!! I just got kissed at 6,500 ft!!! SWEET!!!!" Was so excited, had to tell everyone about my kiss in the sky. I also remember some people looking at me like I was insane!!!!! I didn't care...it was great!!!
  12. I KNOW!!!! I read it on the PMS web site!!! Oh, I'd love to come down there!!! I wanna pass the Barbie!!! I will be visiting friends at the New Orleans Skydiving Center that weekend. Can I take a rain check???
  13. Well, that goes without saying, dosen't it?? I was hoping to maybe get up tomorrow but looks like maybe too windy for me. This weekend was BEAUTIFUL but I was working!!!!!!!!!!!!

    High/Low

High: T'was a beautiful day...62 degrees!!! Low winds...great day to jump!! Low: I was at work from 8:30am 'till 7:00pm!!!
  16. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will probably spend my first day there getting familiar w/the DZ...maybe one jump before sundown. I'm so psyched to go. I've had alot of people on here suggesting that I just suck it up and jump in this weather. As much as I want to jump, I, myself am NOT a cold weather person. When I'm cold...I'm tense. My safety is my #1 concern, so if I'm gonna be tense, I'm not jumping!!! Wimpy??? Maybe, but I'd rather be wimpy and safe!!!! Kuddos to all of you who are able to jump in the coldness!!! How the heck are ya Jim????
  17. I'm still a newbie here. My last jump was 11/22...the weather here in Jersey is just too cold for me so I'm going to New Orleans the last week of January...hopefully to jump like crazy. I'm just wondering what is the best thing to do. Observation rides?? Two or three to get myself familiar with the new DZ?? I will be doing a refresher jump. SO should I do the observation rides....or should I just get out of the plane???? I plan on getting to my DZ before then and asking my instructors there. Just wondering what y'all think. Thanks!!
  18. Well, in the past month, I've read...Skydiver's handbook, Skydiver's Survival guide, and Mental training for Skydiving and Life.....looking for new book!!!! Also, lots of time spent online researching relocating to FL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. ( As a newbie....)To be as good as, be as safe as, to fly as beautifullyl as, and to have as much fun as.. M.K and..D.K.......... Yeah baby!!....Ooh, yeah, and to get my "A".... Nite!!
  20. I agree, it does look cooler My two cents
  21. As a newbie, I can only say this....think about this as much as possible before buying any suit at all. I purchased my RW suit in September and it rocks....it's absolutely gorgeous, and Leiah (sp?)totally rocked helping me pick my colors. I really do love it. However, I'm kinda thinking I want to get into FF and am wishing I didn't put the $$ into that at this time in my training...only 35 jumps so far. However, the measurement sessions are pretty arousing! Love ya girl, if you're out there!!!! I guess I would suggest if you are going to buy, buy used. Having said all this, I wouldn't trade my RW suit for anything!!! When I'm 90 yrs old, I'm going to be sitting in my rocker wearing it still, telling my grandchildren about how awsome this time in my life was!!!
  22. I have made this CD myself. Some of my songs are.... Long Way Down-GooGoo Dolls Beautiful Day-U2 Alive-POD Lie In Our Graves- Dave Matthews Dancin Nancies-Dave Matthews Elevation-U2 But the song that got me the most was So Far Away-Stained. In fact, I'll never forget the first time I heard it!!! Driving in my car the day after completing my AFF lev 6, the closest I've gotten to the sunset load..the most amazing site I'd ever seen. The view I saw that eve with the sun just starting down on the horizon, brought tears to my eyes. I listened to the words of that song and was cryin like a little girl!!! Sorry, didn't mean to get all sappy
