  1. I guess the real question is: "How long after AFF can I get a skydiving tatoo?"
  2. Hey - Who do you think you're talking to ? This guy has almost 4000 posts on DZ.com. Show some respect. _____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?

  8. Attached is a low-res photo of the 185-way Phoenix built at DeLand on 4/17. It was a pretty challenging formation, built from 9 planes with people from 21 different countries. It is the new Florida RW record, and I believe it is the #4 biggest formation in the U. S. Kevin K.
  9. At least, it probably holds the world record for largest asymmetrical animal-themed formation.

  12. I will echo the thoughts of the others - get out and pack. Every time you pack, you will find more things to wonder about and ask about. You will also get used to the different ways that components look under different circumstances. It's all lumped together as "experience". Even if you're not jumping, packing a lot will give you a much better understanding of component function, wear patterns, and failure modes than simply reading about it. Yes, it's boring and it's not jumping, but it all adds info to that database brain of yours, and can be useful when you least expect it. You will also learn shortcuts and easier methods as you better understand the packing process. _____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?

  14. I'm surprised to find a skydiving-related post with your name on it. I guess I'd forgotten that you occasionally jump between misogynistic rants. Anyway, I've Psycho-Packed several types of canopies for many years with good results. The bridle being off to the side does not affect the opening, as far as I can tell. The idea that the canopy is being pulled off-center by the asymmetrical placement of the bridle is an illusion. The bridle still comes out of the bag through the grommet in the center, right? This is the point from which the bag (with canopy inside) is lifted. The bottom flap of the bag, held closed by the locking stows, holds the canopy in as the bag is accelerated away from the container. The whole time that the lines are unstowing, the canopy is held in the bag, which is hanging from the center-mounted bridle. Even as the locking stows come out, the bag is being held from the center. The time between when the bottom flap opens and the canopy emerges into the airflow is, I believe, too short of a period to allow the off-center orientation of the bridle to affect it. In that short time the bridle goes from the side to the top of the canopy and the canopy opens symmetrically. I originally started roll-packing because arthritis in my hands made it difficult to do S-folds and control the material. But it is also great for lower-experienced folks with slippery canopies. 15. Yeah, you must have been drunk to post this bunch of crap. A guy gets hit from behind by someone doing something completely stupid and unsafe, and you bitch because he has the balls to use it as an example to others. If it had turned out a bit differently, you would still be hearing about it, only from different people, because those two would have been in a dead heap in the ZHills landing area. I can only hope that your shitty judgment doesn't extend to your skydiving. Oh yeah, you were drunk. Great excuse for being an Asshat. 20. So, that means accepting the following types of discharges: - Honorable - General (under honorable conditions) - Under Other than Honorable Conditions (UOTHC) - Bad Conduct Is that going to be your acceptance criteria? I just want to make sure that I understand your post. Kevin K.

    Overrated Crap

I think what is overrated are the things people would pick instead of their "hated" alternatives. For example - I bet after gouging just one eye out with a knitting needle, you would settle for hearing "Free Bird", rather than continue on the other eye. And do you kick both feet at the same time with the toothpicks under the toenails, or after kicking one foot, would you watch a little Cage or Brando rather than kicking that other foot ? I'm also thinking that somewhere along that 50-ft. razorblade slide into the rubbing alcohol, you would put up with one more country song, rather than finish the slide. That's what I think is overrated. Kevin K. _____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?
