  1. I had to take a deep breath before answering this. FDR was shipping war maretiel on those ships. He was also demanding safe passage rights never granted in the naval warfare history before or since. So blood for oil is ok then, but not now? [yes, that is intentionally antagonistic and meant to be ironic] Well, they never finished there, so why are you complaining about Dubya not being done in Afghanistan already? Did anyone from the former Yugoslav area ever really threaten a NATO ally? [honest quesiton, I've never heard about it but know it's possible] That was a UN peace keeping operation that got out of control. Yep, huge mistake on his part. No, his mistake was refusing to support the troops there, or allow big bore support. [see his refusal of tanks and artillery] I hear that one liner all the time, have never seen any evidence of it being true (Although it may be). I don't have the link, but the Sudanese made the offer more than once, but it would've required backbone on Clinton's part. No polls will replace a spine. Hence the biggest financeer of terrorsm on the planet roams free. I wouldn't call either of these completed tasks I would. He has removed the ruling bodies and begun providing and rebuilding. Just because we're not out yet doesn't mean we haven't removed the despots. What else is new? Are republicans and democrats trading insults too? You mean the UN inspectors? Thought they were impotent? It helps when noncompliance carries a penalty. 500 soldiers have been killed. Somewhere between 11,000 and 22,000, depending on who's numbers you believe, have been lost due to wounds. Those are called casualties. I expect better from you Kev. You have any idea how large those nubmers are for the other conflicts listed here? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  2. Deep six comes from the times of Wooden ships and Iron men, not the other way around. It is a reference to the measurements of old: fathoms. Six fathoms was the minimum requirement to consider it the deep sea. Deep Six. I'm not sure how it came to embody junking old equipment, but that is the meaning today. Maybe in six fathoms, you could sink a ship and not worry about it interfering with traffic? edit for spelling and no, I don't want to asnwer these questions. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  3. ...but you'll notice a large number of thespians seem to oppose the amendment... witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  4. Kev, you know we agree on plenty of things, but here I think you just misinterpretted his intentions. The website he quoted was titled 'What The Muslims Want.' He provided the link so anyone who wanted to was able to educate themselves about NOI. And since we're all here at dz.com, they also have access to google.com Go easy friend. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  5. Nice poonch, eh? Pool 'is jersee, soombudy smak da ref, eh. Fight Fight Fight!! witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  6. That would be an accurate title as well, as long as you had no modifier. Don't add in "most" or "all" and it sits just fine with me. People will read it [object of a subject, no?] and see what you are talking about. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  7. Then people would have been flaming him for not specifying that the 'Nation of Islam,' is not in fact, the nation of Islam, simply one racist's version of it. edit Some of us enjoy talking about out there, unacceptable, non PC, or otherwise overlooked topics. The things you might simply roll your eyes at. Kind of like how some people view the constant Bush bashing. They look at it and go "eh, not again." witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  8. OK people, how about a new rule. Don't flame the poster, or call him a troll, until after you've read at least the FIRST LINE. The subject is the subject. He clarifies with the first line, as follows: edit to add [for JohnnyD] if you don't know the context, he posted the link. Read it. Educate Yourself. It's kind of hard to create a post someone will read if you have to quote an entire website and it's critics. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  9. I figured that was what he meant, but at least half of the "yeah, I've been banned" answers are people talking about getting grounded or "not welcome" signs at DZs. edited to add asshat! witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  10. So are we talking about banned from jumpingat a DZ or banned from the forums. Reclaim your thread Turtle. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  13. Oh, I was so reaching for the flamethrower after reading those first two lines. But reading the third I see it's your wishful ruminations. I share them. I wish more people voted too. I don't presume to speak for the non voters, but I'm guessing the more people who voted for this, the more that 4.5 would have outstripped the opposition. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  14. Well, the states disagree, and the federal government has so extended their power that they don't even need to mention the elastic clause anymore. They can get theirhands in everything thanks to their assumed role in interstate commerce, and their rules and regs concerning state interaction [recognition of licenses, etc] Hence it become a federal issue. And the only way to make it stick at the federal level is to let to supreme court make new law for it [see Roe v Wade for recent example] or to take it into a new amendment. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  15. Wow. :::Walks in with ten foot pole, looks at post, looks at pole::: Uh uh. I'm not touching that one. I'll be back later though. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  16. quade If 38 states have laws prohibiting this union stuff, and two to three have laws allowing, eventually it's going to come before the supreme court on an equal protection case [i.e. one state is recognizing their 'rights' and the other isn't] So you have two options if you're president. You can sit idly by while the federal government gets involved without you, or you can support an amendment that (A) get's you in well with you political base and (B) is supported by more than 2/3 of the states. ps - it'll be even harder to get the amendment if it goes to the SC and they rule against your side. How is that not good politics? Remember, presidents aren't leaders anymore, they're politicians. John It's strangely similar to the Right To Carry issues coming out all over the place. 30 something states have RTC, 10 or so have discretionary issue, and the rest don't allow it at all. One circuit court has said there is an individual right to keep and bear arms granted by the constitution, another has said there isn't. Too bad Bush isn't pushing for an amendment defining "keep and bear arms" as "keep and bear arms." Oh wait.... to both of you I find it funny how people are saying "it's none of your business if they don't hurt anyone" to one issue, but they're saying "they might hurt someone" to the other. Things that make you go "Hmmmm..." witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  17. Earned it through jumping and borrowed the cash So obviously the bribery was out as well, but option 3? Well, let's just say my S&TA wasn't exactly my type. I'm a dirty little too, but I don't have a name. Soon to be rectified. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  18. Problem there is that you likely wouldn't have a choice which entities are named in the suit. Your lawyer is going to go after anyone and everyone, individuals and businesses - that could possibly have been involved. That's why if I ever need a lawyer, I'd get one who does as he's told. When I say sue the DZO, I don't mean the dz, the jumpers, the JMs, or anyone else. I mean the DZO Yes, a ridiculous amount, but that's really no different form any other legal action. I watched firearms manufactures try to get their names removed from a lawsuit that didn't even involve their products. IIRC, there is a clause in there something to the effect of "and all other dz representatives." That implies that unless the rigger is somehow affiliated with the dz [i.e. working for them or a partner] the release does not apply to him. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  19. OK, but if they were a dzo, or a JM, or other "dz representative" listed in the waiver, would you sue them anyway? [medical bills, lost work wages, etc] witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  20. yeah, once upon a time in the good ole days.... I think the worst chages happened to wolverine though. How can you take such a great character and draw him like such a piece of garbage? I'll all for different styles and whatnot, but they go so out of hand with him that I gave up entirely. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  21. South Beach in Fla, not SoCal, right? Yeah, I fell off the comic wagon about when they pulled the four clone thing. Loved the venom/punisher cross based in SF though. That was pretty sweet. If I get this next interview, I'll take you up on that offer. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  22. Ranks right up there with Venom in my book. Can't wait for the debut! witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  23. That was the biggest waste of my life since Freshman English. Please don't ever post from those idiots again. Please. I'm kind of sitting here stunned wondering why the hell you induced anyone to read that. For the love of god, man why? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  25. This is now officially the funniest show on television. I just saw it on Comedy Central [11:00 to 12:00 central]. I could not stop laughing. The best was when they took the guy to an indoor range, and worked him up to a .44 S&W and required him to come up with a manly quote before firing. He quoted Betty Davis. [I proudly had no idea WTF he was talking about] I spit my beer out across my brother's expensive crap on the table and I still couldn't help but laugh and keep smiling. Oh, and working the guys wardrobe in the closet [no pun] The big John Goodman lookin dude just kept going "Plaid" pointing at himself, and "Table cloth" pointing at the guys shirts. Too freakin funny!!! witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
