Buy Reciever Gloves Newmans or Rebook Nike ETC. I was worried about "Feeling" The Hackey and went most of the (first)winter without gloves until I just about gave myself Frostbite. I bought a pair of Rebook Reciever gloves with the Tackified Leather and haven't jumped without them since."Over 200 jumps with them now" These types of gloves where designed for "Feel" I am sure several others will be chiming in telling you the same thing As for protecting the hands I understand. Sweet! Yesterday Rocked for me as well, no jumping, something even better! Spent the day with my daughter. We had a blast! She is growing way to fast! I am already dreading going home tomorrow But the goo thing is she will be old enough tomorrow to start flying with an attendant so I can fly her out to spend time with me as often as I can afford. I am now re-thinking how much jumping I plan to do this year. Seeing her every 3-4 months is not enough she grew almost 3" since Christmas! Your wanting to do "something" is heart warming. I understand that feeling. Keep it close to you. It will serve you well through out your life. With that, there are reasons there isn't such a day and this is just my perspective and opinion. Skydiving is about Living. We celebrate Life. that is not to say we don't care for those who's life ended on their last jump, it is that we celebrate their life each time we show up at the DZ, manifest and then hurl ourselves out of an airplane. If I went in I would not want people to remember my last jump. There is nothing glamorous about dying. Death is waiting for us all, Life on the other hand, now that is something worth celebrating. The next time your at the dz organize a Sunset high alti hop-n-pop to celebrate being Alive. That would be want I would want :) Blue Skies. 0-7-1 Made Jump Number 300 on the same Jump my Buddy who got me into Jumping made his 500th. 300 jumps in less then 2 years Not to shabby if I do say so myself. I won't be at the DZ for several weeks but if your in Ogden the second week of May check the Beer Fridge for Root Beer Floats! Hopefully it was returned but I doubt it Brian would have let me know by email or called if it was returned. To answer a couple questions. It was not my canopy it was student gear. The student was making her level 3(first non tandem jump) I "THINK" seening line twist for the first time freaked her out. But doesn't matter she was under it and decided to get rid of it. I am not her instuctor so didn't ask and don't really care I am just trying to help Brian and Suzanne get their canopy back. It only had a litle over 100 jumps on it! We had a Student Chop today and the main landed near the Highway. By the time anyone got over to where it had landed it was nowhere to be found. It is a Spectre 230 I will have the color Pattern and Serial Numbers sometime tomorrow but for those that keep up on eBay if you see a Spectre listed by a Whuffo in Utah Please PM me or call Skydive Ogden. 801-627-Jump. Still holding out hope that it will be returned but whoever stopped to grab it took off with it. It is not like they didn't see where it came from as the Sky was full of parachutes ALL DAY and there is only one airport.. Weird This thread is here this morning. I awoke from a horrible dream this morning. I dreamnt I watched two guys go in. Was watchng them from my moms front yard in Vegas (weird) I was screaming pull mother f**KERS.. It was a very vivid dream. I watched them as they looked to be on there backs then flip over as they passed the tree lines seen the panic in there faces and franticlly trying to deploy then saw pilot chutes and heard them scream then a horrible crash..ran to the end of the street and seen what seemed to be a smashed white van and several cars that had been wreck and people screaming and running everywhere...even weirder was I was horse and could barley scream. Kept saying over and over pull fuckers, pull, why didn't you pull. the words where barely coming out of my mouth in a whisper but I was screaming as hard as I could. The blood and body parts where horrific. I have never seen anyone go and if it is 1/100th as bad as what I saw in my dream I pray I never have to witness it. This was not the way I wanted to wake up as I am about to head to the DZ with 3 friends I talked into making tandems this morning.. Being today is saftey day.. Please folks be careful.
