  1. My American duty. Serve. The price of Freedom is that some must defend it. And I would gladly fight for the freedom of those incapable of fighting for themselves. I served before. I would do it again. No questions asked. For those who would run to Canada, I would gladly serve two terms to take up your slack.
  2. Except that all you have to do is believe Christ. That's it. The whole thing. Just believe that Christ died for your sins and believe God will honor His word that for believing you get heaven. What could be simpler. The truth gets so clouded. We wrap ourselves in all these things we see as unfair and forget the plain simple truth. We look for answers to every little detail and think we are somehow entitled to them. The simple no nonsense truth is we cannot be perfect. God can. So He died for us and said accept that. Just accept it and we will be seen as perfect. Simple. Unfair is God making us, loving us, and us giving Him the collective finger and then telling Him that He needs to cow down to our demands. THAT is unfair. Unfair is God saying there is punishment for disobedience, suffering that punishment Himself, and us saying, well that's great but you owe us more. We want to see real proof of your love. In fact we want You to PROVE you exist the way we want. God says all nature testifies to His existence, but that is not enough. "Greater love has no man than this; that He lay down His life for His friends." Christ did this. Then His friends say sorry, not interested because that is not enough? That's unfair. I bet God could write a list of things that He sees as us being unfair. I'm just glad that instead He spread His arms to show how much He loves me.
  3. How about since God is God he owes no explanation for what you do not understand? How about if you choose to disbelieve then no possible explanation will satisfy you? You have made up your mind and every possible or conceivable piece of evidence will be lost on you. I do not claim to understand all of God's ways. I am not arrogant enough to require He clear anything or explain anything to me until I am satisfied. He is who He is. In fact when Moses asked who He was, God said two words. "I Am." So even one of God's chosen got very few answers to his questions. Moses was however wise enough to understand that God was God. He was wise enough to understand that Whoever created the universe had every right to run it His way. Christians do not have all the answers, we just have the only one that matters. This is it: God loves us and died for us to reconcile us to Him. That is all I need to know. That is all I care about. All other questions are for God to reveal IF and WHEN He decides I should know them. So what you see as a flaw, we see as God's divine right. You are arrogant enough to think God owes you. (If you believe He exists at all.) Good luck with that. As far as I am concerned: He owes me nothing. I will serve Him because I owe Him.
  4. I agree. If they did not know that what they were doing was wrong then I question their judgement and their ability to serve with said judgement. But I cannot for one second believe they did not know that was wrong. They should be held accountable for their actions. This is just another case of I did wrong, got caught and want to put the blame elsewhere so I do not have to suffer the consequences of my own actions. I hope these disgraceful persons are severly punished.
  5. I'll be there Friday night and saturday night.
  6. Well I had a stellar weekend! Absolutely jumped my booty off. 1:19:4 1 - smack in the head because I completely forgot mother's day and spent most of the day jumping. (That was one expensive mistake.) 19- jumps, WOW! I am at 97 jumps now. Don't think I will be able to hold off till my b-day to do number 100. Oh-well, May 29th will still be a great day anyway. 3- Firsts. 1st DZ.commer to stay at my home (chuteless, Rosie sends hugs.) 1st off landing (actaully had four of them and the last one was 2 miles out but I was not alone as five of us chose that field to land in.) 1st 6-way completed. Actually got everyone in and I did not go low! (yay me!) 1st ride to altitude with Bill Cole! (Awesome to see you in the air!)
  7. Who cares about the general consensus? I never care what the general public will think when deciding to do soemthing. I only care how I think. If I believe it to be right then I do it, even if it is unpopular. Tell me her name and I will gladly call the police. Give me her insurance info and I will call them too. Seriously, if you believe she is a danger to everyone out there, you must do what is necessary to get her off the road. If she kills someone and you do nothing, you will never get over that, knowing you could have done something. As far as overstepping your bounds, what if it is you or someone you really love that she kills? Will you feel that you were overstepping your bounds then? Don't mean to be harsh but this is a no brainer to me.
  8. Well, I am gonna respond to this even though you are exactly arm's reach from me sitting at my computer . . . I was glad to be on the plane with you, geezer . . . or is that geizer . . . It was great seeing you in the air!!!!

  10. Pre-Skydiving C-130 C-141 OV10-B (This one was interesting) Since Skydiving Otter Skyvan Cessna 182 Talk about a short list. Need to add a Casa and a King Air here. Those are my goals for this year.
  11. I jump a hornet 230. I had issues with slammer openings and off heading openings when I first started jumping it. I tried rolling the nose and it helped a little. I talked to my DZO and she said I probably had bad body position at deployment. I started paying very careful attention to that and found that my opennings could not be much softer than they are now and I no longer roll the nose.
  12. Th green booger is sliming Ohio right now.
  13. After working an ass-busting job for 10 years I decided to go to school and get my degree at 29. This month I will turn 33 and will have 5 quarters left to finish my BME. It is kinda weird being in school with kids people who were still playing with fisher price when I was serving in the Marines, but for what it is worth. It is actually easier now to get the work done. I think this may be a result of several factors 1.) You are returning to school because yopu absolutely want to. 2.) You will realize that you actually did develope some powerful thought processes over the past 15 years and you really are smarter now than you were when you 20. You have been processing and assimilating information ever since you left high school, you just did not realize it. 3.) You know what the real world is like and so you are more motivated to succeed. 4.) You have a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from. 5.) While the younger folks are partying you will be working to attain higher scores, and in classes with curves you will be so far ahead of the curve that even if you score a 30 you will get an A. The list could go on, but I am glad I waited till now to go to college because I do not believe I would have doen to well if I had gone in my early twenties. All this to say, Rev-Jim, good luck, and don't sweat it, you will do great. Enjoy the ride.
  14. Oh yeah, tenting it on the dz. Gonna be fun
  15. Man you said BIG GREEN BUGGER and I thought you meant something like this.
  16. Oh man . . . the possibilities seem to be endless. What are people thinking? The real question is, if I start pissing in a cup will people buy it?

  21. Hey girl! Glad to see you will be there! I am getting stoked. This should be a blast. I am even planning on camping out instead of driving the hour home at night. Should be a hoot.
  22. I only like the soft glazed KK's. The problem with them is that I REALLY like them. Once I eat one I will eat the whole damn box. They are just too damn light. KK's RAWK! Now for the best of any kind there are three ole ladies in Lancaster Ohio that make the best damn doughnuts anywhere. Next comes Dunkin Doughnuts. I love the blueberry glazed and the Chocolate Honey glazed. MMMMMMMMMM
  23. Big fan of the banana hammocks, are ya? Kelly Yes . . . I am . . . Well...you learn something new everyday... Well after reading this I thought, is :banana hammock" a euphemism fo rsomething other than the hammock I have tied to my tree. Lo-and-behold imagine my surprise. So suffice it to say I MEANT SOMETHING ELSE. (BTW - I never knew those were called banana hammocks.) I thought it was weird that she would outlaw hammocks.
  24. That could be possible . . . That's shameless . . . I like it! Not sure you know what you are asking. Better PM Paige on this one. This, on the other hand may be next to impossible, impulse being what it is, and monkey hats being what they are, human nature and envy and all that jazz, well . . . not sure I can make a promise there
