  1. that sounded like a PA to me!!
  2. No it's not. Yes it is. No it's not. If I've got an imaginary friend called Dave who plays bass in a ska-punk band and you've got an imaginary friend called Dave who builds radio controlled boats are they the same person because they're both called Dave? Dave's not here right now man... I'm sorry dave, but I can't do that. -- Rob
  3. I hate that elections are about the lesser of the evils. Who sucks less. Don't have to stand for anything, just don't support the wrong things. It's all about voting against the one you don't like. -- Rob
  4. thank you for your honest answer. I've nothing else to say on the matter then. -- Rob
  5. the few cops I know hate no-knock warrants. One of them described it to me as legalized home-invasion + kidnapping. -- Rob
  6. asking a question. For all I know he may have been with his brother on his deathbed in a VA hospital who told him he wanted it all to be the way it was. And so did all the men in his unit. I don't know. He's making a presumptive statement, and I want to know why. If all you can do is ask me a rhetorical question designed to try to ridicule me, then apparently you may also need better material. -- Rob
  7. you're presuming to speak for thousands of dead service men. How well did you know them? You know what they want apparently. You must have been close to all of them. Certainly the majority of them wish they were still alive. But do thousands of them wish everything is as it was? How can you know that? and what's with the hostility in your response? Don't get all defensive on me... I just politely asked you a question. -- Rob
  8. curious... how close are you to the ones you're presuming to speak for here? -- Rob
  9. working to protect your right to keep and bear arms without unlawful confiscation. It's what they do... -- Rob
  10. you're a smart guy. maybe you can do better research that we can and tell us WHY those foreigh skimmer ships that have offered to help haven't been granted the waivers mentioned above in order to allow them to proceed. I know you can do better than pithy sarcasm. I've seen it. -- Rob
  11. So now you're calling me a liar? It seemed to me that he's spotted what looks to be a familiar pattern and is identifying that pattern. One could say he's giving you the benefit of the doubt asking you to describe what you have (asking this assumes that you actually have some to describe). *** You're accusing me of being a criminal? BUG OFF! Appeared to me to be a simple question asking if you're followed local laws in IL regarding firearms registration. Careful if you haven't, I've seen them confiscate firearms from a dead man rather that let them be returned to his family. (if I recall correctly it was a .44 revolver. It's been a while though.) I saw nothing resembling an accusation until you accused him of calling you a liar and a criminal. -- Rob
  12. Because the country is ungovernable, in large part, due to the fact that there are far too many armed NUTS in Iraq who believe that violence is the path to freedom and they are killing each other and us. so the armed populace is preventing the military/government machine from taking over their country and ruling effectively... exactly!! I don't think I've ever had anyone make my point quite so well for me here. they will be free to choose the type of country they wish to live in and government they wish to form. we don't have a democracy. nor do they in Iraq. I'm not sure what you're referring to unless it's your quote you pulled from somewhere. (not an original thought as you keep berating others for posting quotes) *** It's not the guns that make us free, it's how we think and relate to each other that makes us free. and what gets us to the position where we're able to relate to each other freely? Sometimes it's the guns. -- Rob
  13. Then let me ask you something. In all seriousness. If the government would simply crush any internal resistance by it's armed populace, why hasn't it done so in Iraq? -- Rob
  14. Thanks for the personal attack. BUG OFF! what's wrong? he hitting a little too close to the truth? and to consider the above a PA you're making several assumptions that aren't stated in the post. keep going... this is fun to watch. -- Rob
  15. From the rules: well youve been getting away with it long enough. I figured you had a waiver. -- Rob
  16. for the same reason trolling is allowed by you. -- Rob
  17. You have your beliefs, and you stick to them. Bravo. Seriously. Good for you. I also hope that you never need to know someone with a gun. (for many reasons) -- Rob
  18. I can't believe (and actually still don't believe) that I need to explain this to you, but here it is. It is the country of his father's birth, residence and nationality. It is where half of his ancestors come from and half of his cultrural heritage. It is essentially the source of half of him. When talking about visiting other countries it's only natural for his wife to allude to that when talking about it and 'home country' seems a quick and simple way of covering it. Only a complete idiot, or someone who only cares about desperately flailing for anything they can bash Obama about, no matter how tenuous, would think it means that Obama or his family don't think of him as primarily American. (And it also covers why your 'Queen of England' analogy was so absurd.) see? now that wasn't so hard. so why were you being so obtuse. -- Rob

    Deportation

it's ok for the government to hire illegals? there was a reference to this earlier. a recruiter that slips up, doesn't check something. Do I think it happens a lot? no. do I think it should ever happen? no. is it possible? sure. -- Rob

    Deportation

no, they were illegal up until the point that they entered into the process to become a citizen. -- Rob
  21. Sidenote, I read everything before I posted the original reply, and it would seem to me a retraction for unjustly calling the guy an Idiot for protecting his own life is due because of Learning. fair. your condescending tone aside, I will retract my idiot comment. -- Rob
  22. In light of what has occured..... damn right skippy. They get to make INPUT like good little oil industry "experts"...... the people in charge of POLICY..... get to make the decisions, based on all the available facts. I didn't mean to ask "in this specific case" I meant in general. you appear to be ok with government modifying the written opinion of it's citizens. -- Rob
  23. I'm telling you that it's not clear what you're getting at and being obtuse really just lets everyone believe you're a troll. I'm ok with that. are you? -- Rob

    Deportation

if you're referring to the illegal immigrant serving in the military as a way to gain citizenship, then that is a legal process to become a citizen. Do they not have to follow an established legal process to become a citizen after their military service? -- Rob

    Deportation

So the guy that swiped your wallet goes to jail? I hope so. And then is deported if he's an illegal alien. Unfortunately state police make the call to ICE upon their release, and when ICE fails to show up, the illegal immigrant goes free because the state police can't enforce federal immigration law. -- Rob
